@Brie B Its kinda a waste, probably should use old towels, tees, or rags. That way you don't have to toss out the tissue paper in trash when you put the gifts under there.

I feed an extension cord and put my 'stomper' on a branch waist-high behind a decoration and turn our tree on/off by hand. I found that with gifts around the base of the tree, it wasn't always easy to access the stomper. Your trees/Christmas decorations are always so beautiful! With 2 boys, my theme has been woodlands for years. Tree skirt = deer skin.

I did my tree this weekend, I followed the color palette of my living room and tried to keep the mood of it modern yet natural. My palette is black, white, cream, and sage green with touches of walnut stained wood. My tree is a flocked 7.5 ft pre-lit pencil tree. I used a thick black and cream buffalo-check ribbon spiraled very loosely and wavy around the tree, glass globes in matte soft-black, matte sage green, glossy cream, and glitter cream, 4-inch woven dried grapevine balls, hand strung walnut stained wooden bead garland, and black and white striped candy canes as a final touch! The skirt is actually a faux-fur throw blanket loosely gathered around the base. The topper is still shipping from Crate & Barrel, but its a simple/modern star in gold but I think I will spray it matte black to tie into the colors in my living room. I think the best tips for decorating the tree is to develop a mood/palette and layer different textures so there's always something visually interesting to catch your eye!

Very nice Kinwomen, I love that you showed us how the same color can be interpreted completely different...I personally start with filling the tree with cheap garlands, then I add metallic cheap christmas balls, as they bounce the light beautifully of each other, then I add the more fancy sprays, and only then I work myself out and begin with the ribbon and then basic ornaments up to the super pretty ones ....yes it takes a little longer but it ensures that the tree will be full and lush and have no gaps whatsoever :)

LOVE!!! I learned two things, spinners and tissue paper under the tree skirt. Great ideas!! So excited to try them out this year. However, I just got new pups so I think I’m going to try the tree collar for our main tree to keep them somewhat away from the tree. Thanks for all the great ideas! I love the rust color. It's very charming. We chose two themes for this year. Our upstairs sitting room has white walls and a gorgeous white built in. I removed a few shelves and did a white on white Christmas theme with packages, angels, a forest filled with reindeer and candles. The splash of color is emerald green in the form of ribbons, and I added a 2nd color with some hand blown glass ornaments in cranberry. A few acrylic snowflakes and I'm over the moon thrilled with how beautiful it turned out! Our main level of the home can't be decorated until after Thanksgiving as we are hosting the meal this year. However; I bought a beautiful green tree to use instead of the iron tree I normally put out, and I intend to do a very traditional theme. I bought out every snowy pick I could find at Hobby Lobby and I have beautiful red, green, and gold ornaments as well as ribbons in each color prepped and ready to go on the tree. Rebecca has the most stunning Wolfard lamps in her collection that I have drooled over for years. So this year I purchased a collection of them to add to my mantle and the effect is so glamorous!! (I used them in my fall decor because I simply couldn't wait to put them out!!) I am also doing a "pick" theme on the staircase with ball ornaments hanging in between the picks. I can't wait to play around and set it up. If it turns out half as beautiful as it is in my imagination, then this is going to be a pretty spectacular holiday season. I am eager to see your new ideas and find even more inspiration. Keep the videos coming! Love your style.
