There were two main groups against Britishers in India: Extremists and Moderates, The Garam dal and Naram dal (literally, hot group and soft group). For a reason, only moderates are popular, to which Gandhi and Nehru belonged. On the other hand, Garam dal is given very less credits and almost no mention in history outside India. Extremists believed that Britishers need to be kicked out of India through revolution and sometimes even violent rebellions. Most leaders like Nehru and Gandhi came from super rich families(don't go on appearance of Gandhi, he was hell a rich). They earlier actually believed in cooperation with British government. On the other hand, many people from other group came from poor backgrounds as well as educated people. They worked mostly behind scenes while world media at that time covered only Gandhi. They used to loot things meant for Britishers and then distribute to people. Bhagat Singh famously exploded bomb around a British meeting to protest(no one was harmed), Still he was hanged along with 2 companions. Bhagat Singh himself was very educated and knew many languages, and published newspapers in those. Chandrashekhar famously killed himself when he was surrounded by British soldiers. Many such rebels were sent to far Andman and Nicobar Islands' Prisons for life where they lived in harsh conditions. Many would write poems on walls of the prisons. Most notable person was Subhash Chandra Bose. He quarreled with Gandhi. Gandhi wanted to support Britishers in WW2 while Subhash Chandra made alliances with its enemies, he made alliances with Germany and Japan after meeting Hitler himself. He had an Army which was meant to fight Britishers. Though he died earlier, but later on after war, Indian soldiers in British army rebelled, specially in Navy, which took a very bad turn. Royal Navy mutiny was immediate cause of Independence of India, which is not given much light in history today.

Pareha lang iyan ang method diyan colonialism kahit bigyan pa ng protectorate.Magiging oppression sa mga local people ng Manila. Kaya hindi naman kami magsabi na "God Save the King."

Yes there is a legacy of British colonialism which also affects your modern day lives. - Harnessing of Electricity - Antibiotics - Smallpox eradication - The Jet engine and countless other inventions you use everyday, that makes your lives that much easier. I would appreciate a more balanced perspective.

Some antibiotics were invented in the Philippines. Smallpox was brought by Spaniards and worldwide vaccination program led by a Spaniard Francis Zavier de Balmis. Electricity reached the Philippines through the Sociedad Mercantil. The jet engine can be credited to 3 different countries. EVen an exaggerated and inflated sense of contribution, unnamed countless inventions included, is outweighed by negatives of violation of sovereignty. Whats your purpose for being on this channel?
