Lucky you; I have a 15 Genny as well, 3.8, purchased pre-owned with 32,000 miles. Since then, now have 121,000 miles with the following: fuel door replacement, oil pan replacement, broken driver mirror doesn't fold, and failed transmission at 105,000 miles. Purchased recon tranny for $4800 plus other costs. Running well when it does run!

​@HyperBRUIN did you replace the transmission fluid in regular intervals? Around 30,000 miles or so? I understand the manufacturer may say "it's a sealed transmission" and "it doesn't require fluid changes" That's all non-sense. It needs to be changed if you really want them to get up into the high mileage club.

Best car I've ever owned. Traded my 2016 Lexus ES350 in for a 2018 Genesis G80 Ultimate with 42k miles. The Genesis blows the Lexus away in every category except maybe gas mileage.

The fuel milage is not so good. This is a large and heavy car but at the expense of mpg. Mine is a all wheel drive and I manage to get 22 in most driving situations. It does much better on the hwy.

I recently inherited my late fathers 15 Genesis with the H-trac all wheel drive system. It currently has 40K miles on it and it gets so many compliments! The best thing about the car is when it snows, and you put the car in the snow mode, and the traction you get is unbelievable! No sliding, just acceleration!

Agree with most of this but the panoramic sunroof breaks all the time and when the cloth shade is open you can hear the durn thing creaking.

The turbo means the engine won't last you as long as the non-turbo, jsut fyi. But agreed that sport trim is fuckin unbelievably sexy. It looks too nice to park infront of my shitty house haha

The 2015 and 2016 G80s with Technology package don't get Carplay because of the larger infotainment screen which wasn't compatible with Carplay.

I JUST BOUGHT A 3.8 HTRAC THIS PAST SATURDAY. I MUST TOTALLY AGREE ON ALL OF YOUR POINTS. MY NAYBORS CAME OVER AND LOOKED AND TOLD ME WHAT A GREAT LOOKING CAR. I STUNNED THEM WHEN I SAID IT WAS A 2016. I HAD PREVIOUSLY DRIVEN NEW 2020 SANTA FE TURBO ELITE. I LOVE THE HORIZONTAL GRILL THE BEST. I LOVE THE TORQUE, EASE OFF THEN JUST GIVE A BIT OF GAS AND YOU FEEL THE POWER, NOT LIKE A DRAG RACER, BUT SMOOTHLY INCREASING THE SPEED LIKE A LUXURY CAR SHOULD. I HAVE THE HEATED SEATS N THE REAR SO WHEN YOU LET DOWN THE ARM REST THERE ARE TWO MORE DIALS FOR THE HEATED SEATS, LOOKS LIKE A TRUE LUXURY CAR. IT HAS 87K ON IT, BUT I GOT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH IT. MY 2005 KIA OPTIMA IS RUNNING AS I TEXT IN GREAT SHAPE. THERE IS SOME CLEAR COAT PEELING ON REAR QUARTER PANELS. SO I FEEL THE RELIABLITY IN ANY FORM OF HUNDEE IS FANTASTIC. GREAT REWIEW. YOUR SHOT OF THE PANO ROOF DID NOT GIVE ITS TRUE LOOK INSIDE THE GARAGE, IT IS STUPENDOUS VIEW FOR ALL AND I DID THE WAY THE SHADES RETRACT, DIFFERENTLY THAT THE OTHERS. WOW, I JUST BOUGHT A 2016 3.8 HTRAC, WHITE WITH WHITISH INTERIOR. I MUST FULLY AGREE ON ALL YOUR POINTS, I HAVE NOT HAD CHANCE TO BE DRIVEN IN THE REAR SEATS, BUT ON THE TWO OCCASSIONS I'VE HAD PASSENGERS, THEY WERE IMPRESSED, ESPECIALLY THE ARM REST FEATURES AND CUP HOLDERS. The motor is fine. Works as expected. However I wouldn’t burn out lol. Kind of feels fragile.

Unfortunately the Ultimate trim package uses a different head unit that cannot support Android Auto nor Apple Carplay.

I’m going to get this I found one with 49,000 miles on it. Front seat tan leather has some wrinkles. But I’m putting a warranty on it for up to100,000 only Cost me 2,000 to do that. Car would be 23,000 after the warranty. I’ve never had tint but it would make it Look sharp what’s a good tint for the car idk what’s legal or not but I was thinking 15?

Yes, I switched to larger/lighter wheels and the handling is more sporty but a bit less comfy.

I have two cars one being a 2017 genesis G 80. I’m wondering has anyone experience any transmission issues? I absolutely love the car but I am a spare anything a few issues at this point I have about 66,000 miles on the car I bought it with 42,000 miles on it in 2020. I have spoken to a few other Genesis owners who also have a 2017 and they are experiencing the same issue and just so happens. All of us have all wheel drive. Have you or anyone experienced this issue with your Genesis?

What transmission issues are you having? Have you replaced the fluid? Anyone know when the fluid should be replaced? I'm now 33000 miles on my 2016 3.8 AWD.

@@terrymurphy2637 so the car is really jerking in low speed. Typically under 30 mph. Seems like the transmission is slipping. I have spoken other 2017 G80 AWD owners and I think it’s something with this particular year (2017 awd). Seems like there should be some sort of recall owners who have the 2017 all-wheel-drive G 80 should start at some sort of class action suit. I’ve met about seven people so far that are all having the same issue. None of us have over 80,000 miles on our car and we’re all experiencing the same thing. Which typically happens is when you’re in low speed, the RPMs, which is race and then it all the sudden drop and then you have this hard thump.

What are the best tires to get on this car? I know the size but what about brand? I definitely need tires that are all season and long lasting. Genesis does not have the best reviews on tires….especially during the winter months.

I don’t know why mine Genesis 2017 newer one is fully loaded everything is how you speak but I don’t have Apple car play and from the dealer ship told me that after 2019 they have and I cannot do anything to have it. Did you do something to your genesis for you to have?

So normally the dealership does it for you and they should do it for you for free. You can try another dealership to see if they can do it for you. I will probably make a video about this.

Unfortunately the infotainment system in the 2017 Ultimate Package (rotary knob in center console) isn't Apple Car play compatible. The 2018 Ultimate offered an updated infotainment system that added Car Play/Android Auto.

No problem 👍 That is so weird! I know the native maps on the car isn’t the best so I use google. I would take it to Apple and have them check your phone out to make sure it isn’t damaged internally.

I’ve had issues with the roller catching on one side. Roller / clip finally broke. Shade still goes up and down. Just doesn’t slide up the window as gracefully on one side.

Heads Up. Make sure you get your Differential serviced. Even if it has RWD it had a differential.

@@KLEANTRIX when I first got the car I would hear a whistle sound during acceleration and deceleration. I thought it was the wheel bearings. Took it to the dealership and found out the sound was coming from dirty differential fluid. My Genesis had 42k miles and the Service manual called a Differential fluid change at 30k miles. Best to get the service if you plan on keeping the car, because a new Differential can cost $3,000 plus
