Hoping Kyle can be a great coach not just a genius at scheming people open right now that’s not enough, an element seems to be still missing with him as far as coaching! Last season was _the_ season. What nobody has actually addressed is the mental, emotional, and psychological fatigue that befalls an aged team when it has lost twice to the same team/coach/QB. To be so close but to not achieve what was ultimately set out for. Coaches say "yes but we constantly coach against that and reinforce that it's a new season and that's behind us (Jason Garrett)!" But this is naive. The core group of this team is now on the wrong side of the age hill. Players like Kittle, Warner, Deebo, Williams, etc have A LOT of post-season mileage on them. A LOT. Their biological age is not a proper reflection of their _experiential_ age. All of these guys are essentially in their 30's now and you're seeing that wit the injuries. This team simply does not have the required "drive" to continue pushing the rock up the hill. You can see it. They're all going through the motions BECAUSE they KNOW .... THEY KNOW . . . they know they were supposed to have had _at least_ one SB win by now but have none. And they know that _this_ season is in theory their best shot but ALSO that the team is just imploding. They will go down as one of the most talented rosters ever assembled - that includes future HOFers - who never won a SB. They know _that_ will eventually be their legacy. THIS is what the team is feeling whether or not they want to admit it or will admit it. It's the reality. This team likely misses the playoffs and *may* go 8-9.

Most of them know they won't be here next season any way, especially if they pay Brock market value. Trent, Aiyuk, CMAC, got their money because they knew last season was it and this team, as we know it, is done!

You and Dieter are both head and shoulders above anyone else getting to the nuts and bolts of who, what, where, when and why the 49ers are where they are this season. Tons of in depth, critical thinking of the entire Pro Game landscape. How decisions or lack thereof effect the final score.. Brock will force things when his guys aren't getting open and the team is down. Teams know he eats up zone for breakfast and the oline is bad. So it's simple, play man and blitz. Last season they just blitzed while playing zone and he ripped them apart. Now defenses are locking down receivers in man while constantly getting pressure. A lot of plays there is literally nobody open. That's why its play calling and personnel.

9ers had a Superbowl window for 5 years now and that's a blessing in itself. They are older, banged up and it's just plain hard to keep going to playoffs let alone Championship games and Superbowl's year after year. You also need a little luck which they haven't had in last couple Superbowl's. We all know 9ers are a shell of themselves. They need to rewrite the script somehow and right this ship. It's definitely possible but this team looks tired, uninspired and flat. They need to go at least 5-2 in next 7 to be a contender.

Brock hasn't had CMC and several other weapons, so I'm not so sure the league has caught up. If the 49ers get their full contingent, then you can test that theory. We won't have Brandon Aiyuk so that won't happen, but maybe we can test it a bit when CMC is back. 0 e_cdp

Sometimes reality _is_ a bit depressing. This team is actually older than what the biological ages show. Their experiential ages make this the oldest roster in the league (meaning the duress and stress toll placed on the bodies playing under the stress of the playoffs AND the expectation they were supposed to have won at least 1 SB by now). This team _this season_ is cooked. There's no player they can trade for that is going to solve their utterly abysmal special teams. There's no one player that can solve the offensive line issues. There's no one player that can solve the injuries issues. This team is literally doing EXACTLY what you would expect a team to be doing with one of the oldest rosters in the NFL, coming off an abbreviated offseason due to a gut-punch loss in the SB . . .again. The reality is this team SHOULD be preparing for next season. Playing EVERY young player and developing that talent AND trading away players to stockpile draft picks in anticipation of rebuild 2.0.
