Anderson, while he certainly is not the typical Kocurek pupil, he has the talent, body, and skill set to be the 49ers ever so elusive DJ Jones replacement. The 49ers have been sorely missing DJ for quite some time, and if you doubt the impact he had on this team and his teammates, just ask anyone he played with here. Anyways, with all of that being said, Anderson is still extremely raw, but everyone can see the talent level he possesses. A veteran mentor, even if it is just a few months, can still significantly help him grow and unlock his potential. This is a move that will not only benefit the 49ers now by significantly bolstering their depth at a position of weakness, but it will continue to help them by potentially paying huge dividends next season and beyond. The 49ers are going to ultimately continue to have to make tough roster decisions, due to a lack of available cap space. Anderson reaching his potential can play a huge role in the 49ers, allocating that money saved elsewhere over the next couple seasons. Right now, the 49ers are spending roughly 17-20mil in cap space for their DTs. A large portion of that comes from Hargrave, but Anderson can replace him on early downs with better results against the run. The 49ers desperately need their younger players to step up and save them money moving forward. I strongly believe Anderson is and can become a player that accomplishes that goal. I also believe that goal becomes significantly more likely if the 49ers help Anderson by pairing him with someone he can learn from on a daily basis. Man, Krueg is all over the place in hot take ville these days. Trade for Tyreek who he says is available because he is tired of having to block. So he's going to leave McDaniel and go to Shanahan? Forgetting the trade compensation and cap pickle, wtf man. And then he goes on this tangent about getting failed first round QBs. I don't even know if he is talking about offseason or now, but its just idiotic. You dont trade for a backup QB now because they'll get no reps in the system. It is tough to sign the failed guys in the offseason until they have had a second and/or third kick at the can because they prioritize opportunities where they may be able to compete to start.

If I'm GM of the 49ers. I'm going after Shelby Harris/J.Ledbetter and Azeez Ojulari. 49ers need a run-stuffing DT, and they desperately need more depth at EDGE. Quite frankly, Ojulari would be a luxury pickup, but 49ers will need another EDGE moving forward and Ojulari could be unlocked in SF. Him and Floyd already have a great bond off the field as UGA guys, and Ojulari is precisely what the 49ers have wanted opposite Bosa since Ford. He's also more than capable of setting the EDGE in the running game and won't ever be outworked. Bosa, Ojulari, Floyd, and Sam O will give this DL versatility and depth on 3rd downs, and adding a hoss like Harris or Ledbetter does wonders for the 49ers stopping the run game. The 49ers biggest weaknesses right now are first, Campbell getting attacked, which can be remedied by playing Winters more and getting Greenlaw back even at 80%. Second, they are getting worn down late due to a lack of depth, and third, they just don't have the talent and proper bodies to rotate along the interior. Getting healthy, and acquiring these two players would quickly allow the 49ers to become a much more complete team. With those additions, I think the 49ers would then actually have a defense they can rely on against anyone. Then, I'm taking Brock, Kittle, CMC/Mason/Guerendo, Deebo, Jennings, and Pearsall over almost any every other offense with Kyle running the show. Other minor additions could be a better #2 at Tight End and another veteran safety to add to the roster in case either Brown or Mustapha go down...

We have been bad at prevent defense since Salah. We've been bad against the 3rd and long and when we're up because we are built for Salah style all gas no brakes need d line depth to fix that

what is the stat when you weigh all the line men and compare it to the other teams weight? the chiefs are heavier than the 49ers and not in fat (in muscle) from their last regular season game

I keep waiting for someone, ANYONE, to talk about this. Talking about CMC, Larry made a point that HAS TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED, regarding Dre. Dre blew his achilles in the Bowl, but, prior to that, the OTHER, achilles had tendonitis for weeks. So, when he comes back, its off one that ruptured and the other that had problems. So, hows he actually gonna look? For both these, and all other players with same issues, this injury just totally sucks.

Neither claim is true, he does not have the best offensive line in the league, not even close actually. And its clearly not why hes the best QB in the league. Mahomes has never had the best offensive line actually

It's insufferable to listen to and he should understand that his target audience probably disagrees with him about most things and just stick to sports. We don't need to hear him get all sour about bosa's hat because it supports the bad man.
