The parables of the gods, found in Siren Landing give insight into the darker nature of the human gods. I love the lore and it was a pleasure to put on my storytelling hat and just enjoy the narrative.

And for the lore nerds; some notes: • These parables were added fairly recently with Siren's Landing. • They are probably (intentionally) apocryphal in literally every sense of the word; Abaddon designed the reliquary and was a god of _secrets_ and knowledge. (And also the sea.) • _That doesn't make them any more or less likely to be true_ . • These parables present the human gods in a different, darker slant of light than what most humans in Tyria would be familiar and comfortable with. The priesthood in Divinity's Reach seems more focused on the more positive aspects of the gods; it's "may Dwayna protect you" and never "may Dwayna cause a tree to fall on your house and crush your legs." • Upon killing a god of secrets and knowledge, Kormir absorbed his power to become the goddess of truth and order, and probably inherited Abbadon's memories and knowledge about the other gods, _including their secrets_ which might be part of the reason why she stuck around Tyria when the other gods left. • The parable of Abbadon being written on newer parchment seems to imply it was added later, after Abbadon's imprisonment by the other gods, perhaps by a Margonite priest. Got any thinks, anyone? There's nothing an asura appreciates more than fair peer review!

I like that despite this being the darker side to the gods....grenth is still a nice guy despite judging the woman guilty he gave her a chance to live the rest of her life and try to reattain happiness or continue down her path of spite and watch her husband suffer in the afterlife.

I'm new to GW2 and has been intrigued by the lore. So far in my opinion, there is no black and white morality. All are morally gray. For example in Dhuum case (I haven't done any Dhuum related content), Dhuum is considered as "cruel" god that does not let any soul live in the underworld(he will feast on their soul) and he also does not allow any kind of resurrection. But judging for another perspective, this might be for the best. Dhuum sees death as the end for a being, and in order for the soul to cease for good(leaving any kind of remorse behind) he has to consume the soul. He also does not allow any kind of resurrection so that the mourner will move on in life.
