Tory has suffered so much, she finally started to be happy and everything felt down again. The fact no one went after her when she left the fight was also the fact why she chose to joint CK.

Tbh idk how much that would have mattered. She ghosted literally everyone, including Robby, for the entire day up until she decided to show up at the dojo. And she shut down everyone there trying to talk and ran off, with it cutting away to show Johnny and Daniel. We don't know if everyone just stood there and did nothing. For all we know, Tori, Robby, Miguel, Devon, and Amanda all tried going after her and Kreese had already snatched her up in whatever stealth car he's been using to evade police. It's moreso a failure of the direction to not show them going after her and her either brushing them off or managing to run off, with even just a lip service line like Daniel/Johnny asking "Any luck?" to the Top 3, panting as if they had to run to try to catch up, for someone like Robby to say "No...we tried, but she just took off. No idea where she is and still no answer from her phone," leading into the Daniel/Johnny argument. But it's 100% the way I felt it went down, even if headcanon.

This episode was so emotional 😭 My heart broke for Tory 😥💔 Peyton List put on such a grammy worthy performance in this episode!! I felt her pain and that cliffhanger of her going back to Cobra Kai still gives me chills and that music is absolutely insanity!!! Also I loved Miguel vs. Robby’s fight and seeing Robby regain his balance and focus when Tory came back to Miyagi-Do!! Amazing reaction as always!!! I had the same exact reaction as all of you, emotionally stunned!! 😭

I know it's just a show but kids watch it, so Daniel was right. In karate and almost every martial art, it is "forbidden" to fight angry because it is dangerous for their opponents and also themselves. Tory clearly couldn't control her anger and she was dangerous.

Both Daniel and Johnny had their biases as Johnny was bias towards Devon to the point of distracting Mike. Daniel has lost his focus ever since he found out about Mr. Miyagi's dark secret and it has affected some of his judgements. However, Daniel was in the right to stop the fight as Tory was not in the right mental state to fight as she was still grieving. Amanda even told Daniel to stop the fight. It had nothing to do with preferring Sam to win and he would have reacted the same way regardless of who was competing. He even said they could find another way for them to compete over the captain role but Tory didn't want to do that. The actress Peytin List said even stated that Tory is blinded by her grief that she mistakes Daniel and Amanda's concern for her mental state with choosing Sam over her and I think Kreese just exploited her insecurities. Johnny wasn't helping when he seemed to feed into her insecurities which prompted her to quit then blames it all on Daniel and insults Mr. Miyagi knowing what Daniel was going through. Can't wait for you to react to the second part.

Thank you for your reaction to episode 5 of this season. It's on a high level as always. Many will argue with me, but Robbie is the best fighter, even better than Miguel and Hawk, as long as he is focused. They had a total of 5 fights, which I divide into 2 parts: fair and foul. The first fight was at a tournament where Miguel beat Robbie unfairly when he punched Robbie's sore arm. The second fight was at school, Robbie defeated Miguel unfairly by taking advantage of a favor by throwing him off a balcony. Those were not fair fights. Now it's fair fights. The third fight was at the prom, where Robbie won fair by throwing Miguel into the pool. The fourth fight was on the street and Miguel won fair and square. And finally, the fifth fight for the captaincy, where Robbie focused on making Tori promise to be together on the podium, and defeated Miguel. And that one, with a score of 3-2, Robbie wins. I think Robby and Miguel are supposed to be equal because they basically represent Daniel and Johnny: Miguel is Johnny's first student and Robby is Daniel's first, both of them are basically what made the two become sensei and get involved with karate again and eventually start their own dojos - people always say the show started with Miguel and Johnny but as it was obvious by the second episode being Daniel's POV, the show wouldn't have existed without Daniel also getting dragged into karate again and his old rivalry, and that for him started with teaching Robby, which to me makes Robby and Miguel the main characters from the teen, just like the main characters from the adults are both Johnny and Daniel -and yes, if you had to pick just one then Johnny would be the actual main character, but we can't pretend Daniel is not literally almost as much a main as he is) And just like with Daniel and Johnny the show doesn't want to say which one is stronger than the other, they're equal and sometimes one is gonna win and sometimes the other, depending on several circumstances.

These people have been fighting all their lives, and karate has been their salvation to change their lives for the better. And the writers need to show that there is justice for people like Robbie and Tori, and there are millions of them. I'll be disappointed in the series if one of them doesn't win. A lot of people say that the story started with Miguel and it should end with him. Miguel already had everything he had that Robbie didn't. But the story really began with Johnny and Daniel. They are the ones who will end the story.

I'm with Johnny on this one, everyone faces grief in a different way and Tory needed to fight. What is even worse is that Daniel and Amanda denied that they just didn't want for Tory to beat Sam, but the second Tory walked out they declaired Sam captain without wasting a second to see if Tory changed her mind and NO ONE went after her, like??? If you don't think Tory is in the right mind to fight why do you think she's in the right mind to decide to give up her spot at the tournament? It's almost as if they DID in fact just wanted her out of the way to make Sam captain lol I would have gone to Cobra kai as well after that. It doesn't matter how she grieves. She could have hurt Sam or herself badly. So, no, Johnny was wrong and Daniel was right. Also, the reason why they declared Sam captain is because of Tori's situation. There's no way she is able to participate in the tournament. You can see that in part 2. Besides that she has a brother, that no one seems to take care of. That none of her friends or the LaRussos went after her is a mistake by the writers, because it's totally out of character for everyone of them. Also, Tori said that she's done.

If you refuse to listen to her because it's an emotional moment and she can't make decisions then you refuse ALL her decisions, giving up her spot included, instead they picked and choose because it was convenient for Daniel to have his daughter get the Captain spot without having to fight for it. If they stopped the fight and rescheduled so the death wasn't so fresh I would still disagree but understand it, but the way they did it basically stripping Tory of a chance to earn her spot is unfair and I stand by Johnny being right, Tory was fighting harsh but she wasn't going to severly hurt Sam with her bare hands.

SPOILER . . . . . In part 2, they address that Robby did try to reach out to Tory after she quit, but she ghosted him because she knew he would talk her out of quitting. In part 2, the other kids do reach out to Tory in Barcelona, but they let her be and respect he decision.

This episode was sad to watch Daniel and Johnny friendship went from good to bad overtime over the auto business and karate business even inside the Miyagi Do with Robby and Miguel, and Sam and Tori, especially when Torys mom passed Daniel them should of been there for Tory but was too focused on Tekai Kai match

No, it's not Daniel's fault. It was the right decision to stop the fight. That's what every responsible coach, teacher or whatever would do. Tori could have hurt Sam or herself badly. If she wants to let some anger and grieve out then with a dummy, not with another person. BTW Daniel wanted to discuss this with Johnny privately, but Johnny just compromised that. That you think Daniel just favors Sam really sucks. Regarding the training, Johnny pushed Daniel out of the training and literally told him, that he can do the training the next day and then he gets mad when Daniel does exactly that. Johnny was an a*hole in this episode and I'm sick and tired of the writers making one step forward and two steps back with character development. In my opinion the writers did a shitty job with this episode.

@@luna-yj2bc Yes, he does. Because even though Johnny and Daniel are main characters - if you had to pick one then it's Johnny. Ep 1 was his perspective and he was Cobra Kai. Daniel's pov was ep 2 and his first student was Robby (placing him in 2nd spot with the teens). Miguel was the "new karate kid" on the block (similar to Daniel in the OG), he showed up in ep 1, was Johnny's first student and inspiration to open Cobra Kai again, so naturally the writers will do anything moving forward to make Miguel come out on top. Even though Robby is captain, by some plot "miracle" it will go back to Miguel in part 3 so he can finish the show off and come full circle. That is plot armor. @Sandy-k4k4v girl what💀 that’s not plot armor - yk what is plot armor tho? robby even getting captain in the first place. with his random power up the second tory walked in. its unrealistic and miguel was winning by a mile and is a better fighter than him. they only had robbie win to create more drama for when tory rejoined cobra kai. and of course miguel has to come out on top in the end, but that’s not because of plot armor, it’s because the show started with him and johnny and should end with him and johnny. so miguel literally did NOT have any plot armor for the past 6 seasons, he’s just finally getting what he deserves.

@@luna-yj2bc That is exactly what plot armor is lmao. Robby being distracted by Tory being MIA is not unrealistic. We have seen him do this before and once he focused he usually does great. The only reason they are doing this is because they want to make the Miguel plot armor not as obvious, but it still will be, because Robby being captain is not permanent. Miguel was "winning" by a mile because Robby wasn't focused. It can happen to all of them. Robby winning creates 0 drama with Tory and Cobra Kai - the two things aren't related. You just explained plot armor in your last sentence, and regurgitated what I said - that the only reason he will come out on top is because he was cast in that role. And in no way is he a better fighter than Robby. Robby was beating him with only one functioning arm whilst Miguel had to play dirty to win. A lot depends on the actors too. Just like Tory>Sam, Robby is more believable as a fighter, probably because of his gymnastics background, fitness etc.

Daniel should’ve let her fight because it’s not like Sam wasn’t actively fighting back and saying she herself was fine, not only this Tory was also instinctively holding herself back even if it didn’t look like it because she was fighting with the pain of her dead mother. Johnny understand this but Daniel just didn’t want to be wrong, a typical failure of the “miyagi do way”.

Disagree, Daniel was right to stop the fight. Amanda even told him to as they saw she wasn’t in her right state of mind due to her pain and grieving and she was fighting out of rage and not focused. It was a tough call but the fact was it wasn’t right time to let Tory fight. Even Sam didn’t want to continue after learning about Tory’s mom. Johnny made the situation worse by feeding into Tory’s fears. Also, Miyagi-Do way is not a failure, it helped Daniel as a teen and it helped Robby and number of the other teens.

Sam even said that she wants to continue fighting, but not after learning about Tory's mom's death (indicating she doesn't want to fight Tory when she is not in the right head space). Tory could have seriously injured Sam and this would have led to a failure of chemistry between Miyagi do. Amanda and Robby should have sought her out after she left, and tried to help her while she was grieving. After she was in the right head space, they should have resumed the fight, or restarted it. At least then the winner of the captaincy would be fair and there would be no bad blood between Sam and Tory

Everyone had character arcs but not everyone became what Miguel did in s1 finale. It was cult like. At least Robby (whilst influenced due to his age) could still think for himself, recognise when things are wrong, and remove himself from the situation. He never became the caricature Miguel did, repeating Cobra Kai's motto like a parrot, not listening to reason, hurting injured ppl to play dirty and having 0 introspection until Johnny forced him to.
