In certain dialects of Spanish, we usually use these other contractions too: Para = Pa' Para + el = Pal' Para + Donde = Pa'onde Para + Qué = Pa'qué Para + Allá = Pa'llá Para + Acá = Pa'cá (and many more)

Request: please consider a Preterate vs Imperfect episode. You have covered this topic in your series already when you introduced the imperfect tense but a more detailed discussion would be appreciated. Think of your target audience this time as people who have been introduced to both tenses but are still having trouble knowing when to use which tense. This lesson would make a great review and also make for a different presentation with preterate and imperfect on a more equal footing. Thanks and love your work.

I live in Andalucia, Spain (but inland not on the coast). Quite often this is used and one will hear Pá bao meaning Para abajo. a number of constanants such as J, D, T, etc are either omitted or spoken so that they are hardly heard. Thanks for this short lesson on this subject and all your others. Well done!!

Hola from the UK :) first of all thank you so much for your videos, I've started to learn Spanish during lockdown here in the UK and it's keeping me sane! Some moaners on here making complaints and fail to realise they are getting lessons for FREE. So thank you! I skipped ahead to this video because I saw pa' in some Spanish song lyrics - indeed the artist is from the Spanish Caribbean :) I'm wondering if I can be cheeky and put in a video request as I saw a sentence which says "A mi me gustan mis profesores" why is 'my' in the sentence twice? And when do we use it twice in general?

You said it’s Caribbean but in Arizona all the Mexicans say that but, it’s used more as a term of endearment like “Brother” it isn’t said to just everyone. Only said to people that are close to them.

Indeed, the word "pá" (or "apá") is also the contraction of papá, that is used in a brotherly way.

Professor i am little bit confused.. i have question for you I have learnt Hablo,hablè,hablarè in all three AR,ER,IR Now i am practicing continuous present & past.. my question is does continuous use SER also or we only you Estar & What is difference Fue & Era What is use imperfecto and indefinido
@lindagarcia6334
@lindagarcia6334 4 жыл бұрын
¡Hola! Ser y estar: We use ser when we are talking about action taken on someone or something while we use estar when we are talking about someone or somethings state the verb estar is always used to express continuous actions in Spanish to express progressive actions, you'll need to use estar and a (Spanish present participle removing the -ar ending and replacing it with -ando or by removing the -er or -ir ending and replacing it with -iendo.. examples of each of the verb types: hablar (to speak) - hablando (speaking) beber (to drink) - bebiendo (drinking)) Era y fue : Era is used to describe how things were or how a person was while “fue” is used to narrate an event that happened in the past and how it happened. Imperfecto y indefinido: imperfecto for actions in the past with no clear beginning and end while indefinido for actions in the past with a clear beginning and end...

Dr. Danny Evans, I would like to see more context and examples from the previous lessons (verbs, past tense verbs, etc.) used in future lessons. I'm currently enjoying all your videos and they are vastly improving my Spanish. I'd love to see more skits and scenes that you incorporated in the end of the lesson early on the series and brought back. I'm really thankful for the excellent short videos that has helped me throughout my Spanish journey. I'm currently at day 70, and I can't believe how much I've improved my Spanish thanks to the amazing resources that I have learned from, including this amazing channel! Thanks again and keep up the good work sir!
