I'm lesson 47 rn but I wanted to come here on the most recent video to let you know that you are a great encouraging teacher. My favorite thing is when you say "but you're going to be fine." Or "but we're gonna practice it and you'll get it". I'm currently doing Spanish 2 over the summer and it's really difficult online. You are definitely helping. Thank you.

hi, Dr. Danny, interesting lessons and examples!!! "Cuyo" es formal register. It is practically non-existent in everyday speech. You might hear it in the news, or formal writing. It sounds so formal. I can't imagine anybody speaking like that in casual conversation. It would be so weird. I am a native spanish speaker and never understood what it means or how to use it. But thanks to your examples and explanation , I see where it comes from and it makes a lot of sense!!!!

Hola Wild Potato. Gracias por el detalle. Entonces nos puedes dar un ejemplo de cómo dirías su primero ejemplo sin usar ‘cuyo’?: “El carro, cuyo dueño no estaba, bloqueaba la entrada” Gracias :)
@javcrc1 Жыл бұрын
@@qorimayu hola, no sé cuál primer ejemplo, pero mira estas dos oraciones: "El hombre cuyo auto es muy caro vino a verme" Esta es muy formal. Un hablante nativo diría : "El hombre que tiene un auto muy caro vino a verme." Esta es la forma más usual de hablar.
@javcrc1 Жыл бұрын
@@qorimayu hola, lo más pobable es que se use "que" en vez de "cuyo", solo que tendríamos que refrasear la oración, algo así como: "ese carro que su dueño no está, bloqueaba la entrada." Sé que esto no está correcto pero es como lo he escuchado en el habla diaria. 😀

The word whose in, at least in Argentina, is too formal, it is used in books or houses like this, when we speak we replace it with other words, for example the word where.

Good so see you back Dr. Evans. You have not been posting as often as you used to. Maybe you could do some more content on tenses. Like for example maybe do another video on the preterite tense? I know that you have already done a lot on these topics but maybe you could have fresh examples? I have watched your old videos over and over, and know them by almost by heart. That is where new examples would be such a great help. It feels like you had a class at one time, and you made all these great videos based on those lessons, and then you seemed to run out of steam at least in Spanish. So again what I wish is that you would revisit some of your old topics with new examples for us to practice and build vocabulary. This video kind of does this because it has a lot of great examples of the use of different tenses and great vocabulary practice
@marysmith65462 жыл бұрын
So if those terms are not used in everyday conversation, it would be nice to see some examples of what is used instead. Thanks!
