Hi Kate, I forgot to tell you how I discovered your KZbin videos : since ten years I keep my bees. A couple of weeks ago I was searching for some specific informations and over the word "hexagon" came yor last homely House channel. Isn't it crazy? That's live!! Now I'm going to create a hexagon cushion. In Spring, I'll take it out of the garden, to sit and watch the bees. Thank you for inspire me!

Hello Kate. I'm fairly new to your Channel and haven't yet taken the plunge to make anything altho I've watched so many of your videos now. I especially liked following along Anna's journey making her quilt with you. I'm a Nana myself and want to try my hand at a quilt for my new baby granddaughter. I'll then attempt more for my other grandchildren! Looking forward to learning from you. Hugs from me, Cathy from South Wales ❤

Hello Kate, greetings from Czechia! I'm a bit late to the video - I've been doing nightshifts every other week since September, so as you can imagine, I am quite knackered and do things on my own irregular schedule... But the timing in putting this video off worked out perfectly, because I had a bit of a bad day (night), and this, Cat Rita certainly included, coupled with a cup of Darjeeling, was the perfect mood lifter! Your videos have been doing that service for me at least since the lockdowns (I think I discovered your channel maybe less than a year before them?), so: thank you! I'm more a garment sewist and knitter than quilter, but that does not really stop me from being inspired: I just recently looked at some leftover green sock yarn of mine and thought "I should pair this with pink." 😅 Someone in another comment here wrote you are like an adoptive grandmother to them. I realised it's rather similar to me. I had a very crafty, creative grandma who passed away last year (her specialty was bobbin lace); you're helping to fill that hole a bit. 💛

I am new with sewing (not really new but - again sewing as an adult, when I was a child I learned it by my grandma). I love it to see and to hear your videos: it is Inspiration for me, what you are doing and how you are doing this - in a quiet atmosphere! The parts with music I love too! My work and my family are often turbulent and videos and Musik calm me down. And (very nice): I'm improving my English skills! I listen to all the videos bit by bit, including COVID time and lockdown. So, I'm enjoying it! Thank you! Best regards

It has been a great comfort to me and kept me sane after losing my eldest son 3 years ago. My first quilt EPP won a 3rd place in a quilt show and I was so chuffed with the judges comments. My next quilt I made in honour of my son, and my dear friend custom quilted it for me and in the binding put my sons name on it. It hangs in the room that used to be his. Thank you for your videos they are very inspiring.

You have snapped me out of my anger with my son, he is living with us atm and has been struggling badly with mental health issues. Hello Kate I’ve just found you on KZbin. The only hexagon quilt I’ve made I gave to my dear friend in the hospital. She protested that it was too special. To appease her I told her she could give it back when she came home. She loved it and gave her something cheerful to look at. Unfortunately she passed unexpectedly and it was much later that I remembered the quilt. I asked her husband if he knew what happened to it and with a smile he said oh yes it’s on my bed at home! Apparently it gave him some comfort too. Watching you work makes me want to make another one. Hand sewing is so comforting to me. Thank you and my husband and I followed our daughter from Washington state to Florida 3 yrs ago. 🙏🏻🐞

Hello rural Maine! Rural NY here. A scrappy flying geese sounds wonderful! Like Kate, I also watch Jenny of Missouri Star Quilt Company, and I'm so happy that I discovered her last September or so, and just when I had hand surgery around Thanksgiving, a video on crumb quilting popped up. No cutting really. With a bone removed from my left thumb/wrist, I couldn't do much, but I could hold fabric between my first and second fingers well enough to just randomly sew small pieces of fabric together. Honestly, saved my sanity for the first week or so. (You should have seen me tie my shoes without a working left thumb - slow, but I got it done.) I'm telling you this since you might have lots of small scraps left from the 'geese'. I have 24 10" squares of crumbs and it really became a favorite thing to make, even now that my hand is mostly back up to full strength. Take care.

I’m from North Wales, a small village between Wrexham and Mold. I have promised my granddaughter a quilt when she goes to University in September and you have inspired me to make a star quilt. The very first paper pieced quilt I made and designed began in a sewing class over many many months. Life got in the way…… I.e renovating many houses but the box of paper pieces and fabric came with me each time……so, 20 years later it got finished and I was very proud of it. Since then I have made a few more using varying techniques and now this star quilt is for Ruby to have when she leaves home. Just to add I am not a person who makes perfect items but I do value the fact that patchwork must be precise and that’s what I aim for……let’s just hope I speed up a bit otherwise it may mean she will get it when she leaves home to go to her first job. Thanks for your wonderful videos which inspire thousands of people from many parts of the world. X

I started quilting at age 8 with my Irish grandmother. My first projects were all EPP. We used my dad's shirt cardboards for the templates and newspaper for the papers, and the fabric we used was cut up clothing. My grandmother insisted on 11 stitches to the inch. Those hexagons were hard work and i didn't like it. Now at age 75, after quilting all my life, I'm trying EPP again. And now I'm enjoying the process. I love your soothing, calm, relaxing videos. No glue for me...I hand baste. I'm still sewing and knitting and teach collage quilting at my local shop here in AZ. I also lead a group of quilters who "think outside the box". I hope to start an EPP class soon and will definitely recommend your videos. Thanks Kate.

I know I wasn’t the only person living alone who had to shield and seeing you , Arne and Carlos and Michelle Krall everyday made me feel a little less alone, so thank you❤️

Hi Kate, I'm Catherine and I'm from Northumberland! I love your channel. My mam does a lot of quilting. She does it properly with patterns etc but about 30 years ago I spent 3 years making a paper quilt out of clothes my mam and I wore. I had no idea what I was doing but I'm very proud of that quilt and I really enjoyed making it. I'm thinking of starting a Boro style throw for my sofa. Thanks for letting us see your homely life!

Hi Kate and Anna, I am watching from Glossodia NSW Australia and found you about 14 months ago when I moved back to my parent’s home to care for them as my mum is bedridden and my dad has dementia. I also work full time from home as an accounts clerk. When I need some “time out” I turn to you!!! I had actually started a hexagon quilt and it was my gorgeous gay son who showed me the process which is the same as yours, hand basting. He is a member of a quilters guild near where he lives and the ladies just love him. Funnily he is also a weight lifter so I say he needs to shop with me so he can carry all the fabric. 😂 Thank you for being my therapist and helping relieve some of the stress in my world. ❤❤❤

Hi Kate...I am from the Philippines but living in the Algarve, south of Portugal now with my British husband. I had been watching your videos for few months now. When I was diagnosed with lung cancer, I started to watch quilting videos to get me back to quilting. I had been to a quilting class as a beginner in Lausanne, Switzerland when my husband got a job there. I made a lap quilt, hand stitched and hand quilted except when I sew the binding in but finished the binding with hand stitching. Now, while I am on chemotherapy, I like to do something I enjoy to do so I decided to go back to quilting. I haven't done this when we lived in the UK, Singapore and Philippines.

Hello Kate. I love your cannel. I’m from Michigan in the USA. I have loved sewing all my life. My grandma and Great Grandma lived next door. Grandma was a lot like you. Hi Kate, thank you for the joy you are spreading with your youtube channels ❤️🫶🏻 I am from Switzerland 🇨🇭I am 65 and have 1 daughter and 2 cats. First you reminded me very much of my own (dead) mother, who was always sewing and gardening, but even more it is the friendliness and happiness you are giving to every one, that reminded me of her. Later I realised that you and I must be of almost the same age!! that felt strange. I like to knit, crochet, sew (but no quilt), paint my furniture and canvasses, scrap booking and more… I dont have a garden. And I watch youtube while doing all this. love pat
