The Shadow Broker is especially disturbing when you realize his plan was to set himself up in a floating doomsday bunker and then sit back and watch as the Reapers destroyed everything, leaving himself and the Yahg as the heirs to the next cycle. He could have warned the rest of the galaxy. Instead, he helped to set them up as cannon fodder so he could get a head start on the next cycle.

Maybe he is extremely pragmatic. Because during the current circle there maybe no way to stop them anymore and he would get way more prep time in the next circle if he knows whats coming. Would be kinda cunning.

Damn, how did I never realize this about him/her/it? I didn't know this was his plan at all. I feel like despite playing the entire trilogy multiple times I remember surprisingly little about the lore.

Certainly subverts what you would have expected the Shadow Broker to look like. You'd expect someone like the Illusive Man. Instead, it's an alien monster who hits like a tank.

I also thought his voice was so low because of a modulator. To think that's how he actually sounded was crazy.

Damn. Talking with the Shadow Broker was a legendary gaming moment. In fact the Mass Effect series is full of those.

What I really like about the music that plays when you finally encounter the actual Shadow Broker in person is that it sounds super epic and satisfactory, more so than somber or evil. It feels like you finally reached your goal, the thing you were after all along, after so much hardship. Now you just have to kill it.
