been holding off buying one for years as I wasn't sure about the scissors being the main tool until I recently decided I hardly ever need pliers but I use scissors pretty much every day, not having a paint job to chip off was another added bonus, based off of your review I bought one, thanks for the review!

When I was maybe 12 (mid-90's), my Dad got me a Micra as my first knife/multitool in preparation for a camping trip up to Copper Falls State Park in WI. I was so excited to get the thing, and I still have it today, and it's still sharp, and still completely in one piece. I've kept it on my keychain off and on over the last 20 years.

The scissors are designed to be a bit loose so that they spring back. You can hit the rivet a bit to tighten it up but be careful not to make it too tight. I have two micras and they are both like that and the scissors work as designed. The vid was about 8 mins too long.
@marycahill5466 жыл бұрын
I found a bit heavy as a keychain tool, though it is an excellent tool. Now I usa Victorinox sd for edc, and I keep the Micra in my travel kit.

I'm a fan of the 2-D Phillips drivers on small multi tools. My Victorinox Classic driver seems to fit everything I throw at it. It's so well designed, it's amazing. It is worn out, and the toothpick, tweezers, and the spring that goes in the scissors is gone. So I'm going to give this a try.
@dylizabeth8 жыл бұрын
Have one of these. It's really good, only bad thing about it is the fact that the blade on the knife gets dull very quick. Faster than a normal multi tool blade. Not surprised since the multitool wasn't made for the blade itself. Other than that, great multitool.

You could try tightening up the scissors by hitting the pivot with a ball pein hammer or strike it a rounded nail or bolt as it`s so small to make sure you hit the pivot, I would imagine that`s all the manufacturer would do if you send it back, I mean after many years the arrangement would naturally have to be tightened up several times using the same technique

I'm testing out this keychain tool. Just 30 days hanging out on my keychain. I just used it today when I was babysitting kids - the scissors for cutting packaging and playdough. And yesterday when I was fixing some pictures on the wall. (It's a bit heavier than my usual swiss army knife!) That said, I might pick up the leatherman squirt ps4. Ha! The church thing is pretty funny - I had to tuck my pocket knife into my purse when I was there the other day....

I know this is an old video but I want to say that you are right on about the Micra, I have kept it in my pocket every day for 5 years. Buying a new one every 18 months or so because the spring wears out from use. The Micra is my finger nail clipper and grooming tool.

Buyer beware. The micra has a huge design flaw. How each end is shaped is different. On one end, the two halves are rounded, but on the other end, the end where the scissors are housed, they are pointed at eachother in a non-rounded way. So whenever you go to open this tool, you inevitably are going to stretch the scissors and damage your tool. After one day the springs on mine strarted to fail and the bolt holding the scissors together was already very shaky.

It would be a easy transition for many people. But simple things like rulers would have to be replaced... All things that involve directions in the US Customary system would have to be replaced with new metric products

A knife in church? Oh yeah! Think about it. What if the hymnal holder is loose against the back of the pew? Tighten it up! What if there is a long annoying piece of thread coming away from the carpet that is only going to get worse? Trim it! What if you are writing annotations in your bible and your pencil lead is dull? File/sharpen it! Leatherman needs to release a Spiritas model.
