I heard one the other night, it was from the CBS mystery show… it was about a house buried underground… and was discovered by an oil company while drilling… it was really damn good.

Operation Luna is a fine scifi tale. The "Britishness" provides an interesting angle when viewed in light of the English preoccupation with colonizing and exploring. This comes from a culture that is saturated in generations of jungle, desert, and arctic explorers who were media darlings of past era. Their written accounts are a fascinating read, and you can find a few good documentaries on YT if you hunt. The journal based retellings of hardships and depravations especially must have been like a Taylor Swift concert back in the day. The way the Luna Operation is arranged reminds me of those accounts, the journal reading, the individual anecdotes that include authentic speech of the time. It's a good listen.

When was this story written? 40's? 50's? The very end was cut off, did the diary survive? I expected a profound statement at the end.???
