I guess there's a reason a lot of Brits don't think James Corden is funny...
@cazzle23865 жыл бұрын
It's because he's not funny ;) no but seriously, in my opinion, he's never been original or creative and he has a tendency to talk over other people with "funny" comments which completely stops any kind of organic conversation or allow guests to be witty and charming as he leaves next to no gap for them to contribute. A good host above all else lets their guests shine and enhance their appearance, not use them as props for their own ego. Also as a Brit, the times he forces himself to sound American or use American slang is cringey as hell, it might go unnoticed by his American audience, but native Brits (especially those who have seen him in Gavin & Stacey or other work) just cringe and shake their head at it. Sounds very false. This whole skit is of course ripped from Never Mind the Buzzcocks (AMAZING SHOW, music based pop culture comedy, highly recommend to anyone outside the uk who hasn't seen it before) and while nothing in television is 100% original as such, it's so blatant and since he himself has been on NMTB, he knew what he was doing and made no mention of it. It's such a beloved show to Brits, this feels super disrespectful. Anyway that's my take on it, if people like him, I'm glad and nobody should tell you not to. Have a great day.

As a british person, I've seen too many segments on his show which are direct rip offs frm shows over here, but the US audience has no clue...
@scottcalloway46305 жыл бұрын
You are right, the US audience doesn't watch the same shows as you do in Britian unless it's on BBC. To your point though, this guy should get his own material.

@@scottcalloway4630 Great that u caught the ref (!) since Never Mind The Buzzcocks, a comedy panel game show based on music, does indeed take it's title by playing on both the names of the Sex Pistols' Never Mind the Bollocks album & the band Buzzcocks.

Wow James Corden is sooo original ,., this has never been done before ever .. perhaps he could do it with some old pop stars and maybe build a comedy quiz show with some team captains and maybe ask Simon Amstell or Mark Lamarr to host it!
