Hope that when Rupert (Photek) looks back to his past productions like this gem, he realizes he did something ambitious and avant-garde. The influence he had and continues to have on the scene is tremendous. I believe this music still can be considered as futuristic today. I do not ask him to brag about it. I ask him to acknowledge (if he reads this lines).

This tune is all the things.....edits, variation, long bassline phrases, a "plot", flanged amens, bongos, atmosphere, descending basslines and it's thrilling. yes yes yes yes yes yes YES

That Hi pass filter @ 3:31 is just so good. Biggest bass in the bin.
@docmcfly39334 ай бұрын
It's actually not a highpass filter. It's natural phase by playing two copies of the same break and playing them within a millisecond of each other. It was a widespread technique on Akai samplers back in the day. Phase tends to remove some frequencies.

I was fortunate enough to be on the circuit when this landed. Photek always put shift in. If I remember correctly there were only 40 copies printed due to copyright. Can anyone confirm?

THANK YOU!!!! Turnz remade the 95 version too on his sound cloud ready for download, he's done a cracking job of a remake
@thelaw198410 жыл бұрын
The version Turnz did is a different "Say It". It gets confusing but the Turnz remake is a mashup of "Mind Games" and "Say It" > this was released by Photek in 1994 under his "System X" alias. This "Say It" (in the video) is a separate tune all together.

anyone got or know of prototype 1st release , with bruce lee , they call it the art of fighting sample ? code name jon maybe ? help!!!
@leemc56462 жыл бұрын
Does anyone know of this a Test pressing or Promo? Is one side a white label and the flip the prototype logo label? Also where did the ‘Say It’ track name come from was it penned onto the copies. Cause to me this tune is a stand alone track and not a remix of System X - Say It from 94. One Nation can easily be assumed as the track name or referred to as because of its obvious spoken sample. I can’t hear any Say It vocal in this track Or any of the Loleatta Holloway - Love sensation samples Say It To Me, Feel Me , Run to me , yeah yeah etc Did people assume it was another remix of System X - Say It ?
@philadams92542 жыл бұрын
Test pressing. I used to have a mint condition one stored at my place for a friend, who was given one at the time but never played it. Track titles were written on the sleeve in biro rather than on the record
