I had back problems a while ago. I also have a bank that I need to mow. I clearly needed a rear drove mower that was light. I am old school and was against new things like electric mowers. At the end of the season, this was the only mower in stock. I am so happy with it, I gave my other mower to my daughter. I also bought a weed Wacker by Kobalt. It is only 8 pounds. With my back problems, I could still weed wack. I am very happy with both and I would recommend both to anyone.

I purchased this mower today at Lowe's for $300. I mowed my front lawn and part of my back. The mower itself is great - lightweight, easy to handle, very smooth and quiet, and of course, there's no gas or oil to deal with. HOWEVER, the battery could be a major problem. The battery that came with the mower is: Kobalt 40v Max 5.0 Ah Extended Run Lithium Ion. The manual said it would take two hours to charge which was correct. It also said it would last up to 40 minutes. This was my first use, and it was fully charged, but it only lasted 25 minutes. The one battery didn't last long enough for me to finish mowing my entire lawn, so I looked into purchasing a second one. It's $150 for one battery. That's 50% of the entire mower cost. No way I'm paying that much for a battery. And what's worse, the vast majority of the reviews of the battery were very negative. Many reviewers said the battery died after a short period of time and was no longer chargeable. I really hope that doesn't happen to me.

A big factor in the battery life is how much grass you are cutting off with each mow. I will also say that I highly recommend the toro 60v mower over this mower every day of the week. That mower is league's above this kobalt

@@jakeb8298 it operates largely like a gas mower - the blade will only spin when the upper lever is pulled, the wheels will only turn if the lower lever is pulled. I believe that it will only drive while cutting (so both levers need to be pulled for the wheels to spin), but I’m not 100% certain.

*I bought two of these to double-team a 2/3 acre plot with my friend.🚜 **allabout.wiki/KT** We used to use a mowing service, but $240/month was adding up fast. We needed lawn equipment, and rather than spend $1200 on a cheap ridable mower, we spent the same amount with GreenWorks on two of these mowers, four 2AH batteries, two rechargers, a blower and a trimmer. I'm glad I did. These mowers are easy to push, plow through thick grass, can be used at night due to their low noise, are effortless to start, don't stink of gas, and I love always having a charged battery available. I've found that a battery can fully charge before I drain a battery (~45 minutes), so the two of us never have to stop. We get our yard done in about 1.5 hours and hardly break a sweat. We have been mowing weekly and actually enjoy doing it, despite the two of us claiming we hated mowing grass. Seems we only disliked the inconveniences that gas-powered equipment bring. Thank you GreenWorks for making lawn care fun for us.*
