Thank you for flying Biman!! i have been watching your videos for quite some time and this report came as a surprise. I totally agree with you that BG is the second best carrier in this region after Vistara interms of everything.Biman has improved and is trying it's best to improve more and more however some corrupted officers are hampering the growth. The in-flight entertainment choice needs to be increased as Biman is flying to YYZ nowadays and has plans to resume NY flights.Hope you had an amazing stay here in Bangladesh!!

Hope you enjoyed the surprise then🙂 The only think I enjoyed more about Vistara was the IFE content and the availability of more beverage choices. But besides that Biman was my overall favorite by far! Corrupted officers there are plenty everywhere, what matters is that they’re profitable and on a good path. I hope to fly with them to North America but it’s quite the detour for me..

Unbelievable night view of Terminal 3 at DXB with endless rows of A380 at 7:11-8:00. Nobody believed what Dubai can do when they first started out. Everyone at that time was laughing at their neighboring underdog next door. Just look at how far they have come along and accomplished so far. It is truly a dream. I really like that airport and I am obsessed with it to death 24/7.

I loved it! I was very happy to try it and was pleasantly surprised. The IFE size and definition quality is one of the best I’ve seen so far. Content wise it can be improved but ok, they don’t fly that far.

I almost flew on that plane and cancelled my flight at the last minute. They don’t even inform you that there is no IFE.. What’s even worse is that you can’t switch off the screen so its just glowing in your face..

It really happens John, the plane is on ground for 90 minutes and you can dismantle the plane to fully clean/fumigate it. I spend around 100 nights a year in hotels and trust me.. I know the cleaning business is impossible! So on planes its even harder. And yes, DXB at night is great, but it’s better when not so foggy😄 Take care buddy!

As many passengers stand to collect their stuff from the lockers and stand in the aisle when a plane is still taxiing, I think airlines should "test the brakes" of their aircraft on the way to the terminal. It would roll a few people down the aisle and hilarity would ensue! 😀. Follow this with the announcement "Ladies and Gentlemen , that is why we say 'Please Stay seated until the aircraft comes to a complete stop and the seat belt sign has been turned off'". A great video, Biman looks to be a very good airline and is sensible enough to leave control of the window-dimmer to the customer.

Another great video loved the Biman video to Dacca Sylhet London is a busy route with a large immigrant population in London .Use to fly the classic DC-10 on this route as well as Kolkata India which would be the cheapest flights to Europe from Eastern India .On this flight you can see the mighty Himalayan ranges with the Kangchenjunga, massif the third highest mountain in the world. Its summit lies at 8,586 m (28,169 ft) will be on the left hand side while going from Dubai to Dacca just before descend into Dacca ,best in November after the NE Monsoon rains . People in Eastern India and Bangladesh are rice eaters so the portion you got was less generally it's a mountain of rice and Bangladeshi pickles,( olive) are very nice should give it a try next time .:)

You can hear and feel the landing gear coming down when you’re in a plane. The B787’s gear is quiet though.. I knew the First Officer was landing as the captain said during her speech that the FO would be flying this sector😉

Good video! I was tracking the flight of it off radar 24 however, when my cousin flew S2-AJV it was delayed for a hour due to a mechanical fault giving me a skeptical feeling for the aircraft.

Yes, true, also very good. I don’t drink much cola, mostly only to try quality and such. If I have any event or party at home I try to bring mixers and things from abroad as it does make a difference. I read somewhere that the best Coke is in Macedonia?! Wow looks like you had a great flight and the food doesnt look too bad. I had a terrible experience flying biman dubai to chittagong though. Flew on a 777 (S2-AHN). It was poorly maintained, the food was terrible and the station manager in Dubai was a rude . Maybe the flights to Dhaka are better who knows.

Thanks Maitreya! Lovely words. The question about the best economy class has 100’s of answers because it all depends on the situation; what plane type it is, the destination, who you are flying with, how you feel, do you want to sleep or have fun, do you drink or not, are you religious or not, is the plane new or old, etc etc! But the first that comes up to my mind that always is solid and great is Emirates Economy Class, specifically on the A380. My son loves it, he has 1000’s of movies, he can run around and they serve a world wide cuisine with fun crew from all over the world.. If I want something serious and be treated like an adult then I would choose Qatar or Singapore.. But then again, it all depends! Take care!

The B787 is unfortunately very silent😋 Thanks for the comment! While Biman is not as top tier as the airlines you mentioned, it’s certainly great if you’re flying on a short 4 hour hop and don’t drink alcohol. I wouldn’t even mind one airline or the other under these circumstances. On a +10 hour flight I would obviously prefer EK.. Thanks for watching!

Thanks!! I still have a lot to learn and grow, this is just the beginning but there are many plans! I don’t mind revealing my face, am not camera shy at all. The issue is that my image already belongs to a company. I represent, promote and advertise for a major travel giant. So I can’t just fly on KLM, SQ, QR or whatever and then rave how good it is. So for now it will stay like this until I change careers! Take care!

With the 787-8s, Biman has taken a giant leap. The crew is a lot better these days too. But the beverage service is embarrasingly limited. And being a dry airline will not cut it for many international travellers. Meals need to be served in a more attractive way, e.g. by serving metal cutlery. The drink cups look cheap. No salad with the main meal on this flight? Terrible. No printed menus for dinner I am sure! If Biman can renovate the food and beverage service, it could start rivalling other carriers. It has gotten quite a few other things right.

Thanks for writing Riaz. Yes, the beverage section is very limited and all served at room temperature. I don’t mind it being a dry airline, but it would have been nicer to have more choices. And if not more choice at least serve more quality as the juice was very “factory like”. You are right in everything you mentioned. The plane and cabin is superior to others but the product can be worked on. Have a nice one!

I think Vistara Airlines was better compared to Biman. You should fly in their B787s! Totally majestic! Their safety video is still the best in any south asian airlines.

I know that would have been great, and one asked me if she could appear, but I only had 5% of body battery left and was frankly too tired.. I hope to make a more thorough video of Biman in the near future.

I will be flying from KL 2 to Don Mueang in another 2 weeks from today by Air Asia, should I buy a box of the same brand of chocolates for the crew? Its still under RM500. 00 return for all my booked flights from Nov 2022 till September 2023. Its a low cost carrier but what you have done is just wondeful as a gesture to them. Do visit KL, great trip report, as always.

You don’t need to buy anything.. I bring something because of a tradition of mine of never attending places with empty hands.. Also I am filming a lot and it looks weird when they don’t know what im doing, so chatting with them and giving a treat is a nice way to break the ice. Have a very nice flight!!

@@TheLayoverAviation But I was unlucky both times, because it was a round trip. And arriving in Amsterdam the perfect conditions, I felt that the pilot dropped the plane. And on the way back, the pilot was going very fast, I really thought we were going to go off track.
