A user on a forum describes their job maintaining substations spread over miles of remote forest - all sitting above a massive network tunnels, flooded basements, and even a mine. Elements of urbex, workplace horror, and mystery!

Honest to God the most terrifying creepypasta I've heard in many years. Subtle, very believable and grounded, with just a tiny hint of the supernatural, and extremely tense. That final video had me in a seat gripping agony of anticipation.

I actually live in a very post-industrial region of France, where there were a lot of mines and steelworks, and back then they indeed demolished surface buildings leaving basements and tunnels intact. I've spent hours exploring these tunnels, usualy just some completly empty old cable tunnels, but sometimes some old machines are still intact. No horror story though. Too bad I can't show pictures here. Oh and yeah, always carry two flashlights when doing this kind of stuff

This is really interesting, for me it's probably up there with the "I'm a search & rescue officer for the US forest service" series & "Confessions of a deep sea diver". They're pretty different considering both stories confess all the strange/paranormal stuff out front while this one feels more realistic & leaves you wondering if it's coincidental mundane or if something really is going on in a way that hides any unnatural stuff. I think it's probably cause I've found myself enjoying series were someone is telling you stuff about their jobs that happens to involve a lot of strangeness they know shouldn't be talked about outside of people that already know I hope there's more to this eventually

The story accompanied by clips of these genuinely terrifying locations and excellent narration had my hairs stand on end. The pacing and the fact that nothing of real danger is ever shown makes this an excellent execution of true horror that few movies and games with an actual budget manage to pull off....well done!

This story is originally from the SCP Wiki, specifically under the Parawatch hub. I read it fairly soon after it originally released, and it was creepy in a way that I had had a hard time finding in other places, and it's a large part of the reason that I consider Parawatch one of my favorite groups of interest. Edit:I'm really glad to have an audio version of it. It feels a little weird to call it just a Creepypasta, but to be fair Parawatch was kind of made as an excuse to put Creepypastas into the Wiki so I guess it's still fits.

Likely the best creepypasta ever made. It’s not cheep like the others. It contains nothing supernatural or gory. It completely relys on the setting and atmosphere to build the horror and it works so well.

So this is an interesting one. The forum in question this is from is the Parawatch website, a companion piece to SCP that is from the viewpoint of everyday paranormal enthusiasts. So technically, this is a Librarian SCP reading, which is awesome. Heres hoping he reads Barns from Nowhere, another interesting piece from Parawatch.

Fascinating, this creepypasta feels particularly subtle with most the horror coming from the uncomfortable surroundings. My closest experience to this would be a heavily controlled salt mine tour. And while it was truly dark and threw off your sense of time. The air was sterile and the tunnels wide with only a bit of trash from the old miners' time. This space in this creepy pasta is the creepiest aspects of underground spaces. Having toxic air, unhygienic surfaces, claustrophobic rooms yet grand scale. The real risk of drowning or getting lost, ruined industrial equipment, and isolation makes that no ghost or SCP is really required to make this place haunted in atmosphere.

Did anybody see those what appear to be white glowing eyes in "John's" last photo when he found his way to the old mine? That was pure nightmare fuel! Especially towards the end with that old time music playing in what I can assume is the lower section of Substation 9.

Man, this one was really unnerving. I like how it doesn't just show a big scary monster at any point, instead mostly implying something is down there that may or may not be a person (the eyes), but is probably not human. The fact that there are environmental hazards shows that there are way more real-life dangers down there than whatever may be lurking down there, too. Really sent chills down my spine tbh. That ending, too! It was just someone walking down a hall and yet it somehow managed to be the most tense thing.

Very nice. I'm reminded of Blair Witch Project by both the narrative structure, especially the ending (that's not a spoiler, the ending is different from Blair Witch Project one's, just also similar in a way), and the low-key, naturalistic horror. I also liked how everything weird or possibly supernatural had an alternative, mundane explanation, I'm a sucker for those kinds of stories (e.g. True Detective).

Once in my dream: I was a young man and we were 6 people. We were hanging out and we came across an abandoned building, started to look inside of it and found a shelter door handle on the floor, climbed down and seperated to groups of two to investigate around. I found the dorm and found guns, ammo boxes, axes in the cabinets. And as soon as i saw there were lots of people sleeping i tried to run away and warn my friend but someone caught me. He was creepy tall mutated buff humanoid creature and trying to figure out if i was one of them. Then suddenly my friend came to save me and axed him. Then we heard a gun shot and loud footsteps far away. The third group told us that one of us was shot, they barely escaped and the other one was missing as we met in the exit trying to get out. And my friend was pulled down on the ladders and i left him (didn't even tried to save him). It was like Outlast kind of experience

This comment doesn’t really have anything to do with this video but I thought this game would be perfect pick for you to potentially play! “Spooky’s jump-scare mansion” was made by Akuma Kira! The same guy who made lost in vivo! Despite its name having jump-scare in it, it succeeds in creating the scare factor from atmosphere and not jump-scares alone. It’s more of an interactive thriller which I’m sure you would enjoy based on your content! I do intact know that you have indeed played this. However the HD version not only has a better atmosphere but also improved gameplay as well! “Plus specimens are more terrifying too” I Hope you take this into consideration librarian! Have a good day!

Please ignore this comment haha. I made this late at night and I only realized halfway through that you had already played it. Sorry and have a good day!
