I particularly like that even though it's set in 1984, you haven't made it a big deal. Period media often throw it in your face every chance they get. However you used modern flatscreens so it's a little *too* out of period.

You know the Clapper? That's been sold since 1984 and does what's in this game, Clap twice to toggle lights, or you can clap 3 times and turn on another set of lights or a television. The opening jumpscare also makes sense when the Clapper has a mode where any loud sound will turn on the lights, like a door closing or a window breaking. And indeed, *any* loud sound can be heard as a clap

i disagree on the ps1 graphics. i never played games that looked like that but i appreciate the aesthetic. yeah, it obscures things but i don't think that's a bad thing especially for small developers. it allows them to produce something with a visual aesthetic which is satisfying without too much effort so they can divert more resources working on other elements which are more important. i think the more detailed things get, the more room there is for shortcoming. i think its nice to have a clean basic way of doing things so that you don't have to focus too much on less important aspects. it's easier but reliable. i like watching the chilla's art videos but you can't lie, the games don't look that great, especially the people's faces. even if the effort differential between something like this and that might not be that different, because of its style, it gives the impression of being lower quality. so even from just an image and marketing point of view, i think this graphical style is a good and acceptable way to go if you can't successfully do anything else. obscuring to make it easier but justifying the obstruction with aesthetics. its the same with the fears to fathom games. they also have those stiff faced people models but because of the way its all set up with the filter and all, it all feels clean and consistent in its abstraction of reality. but other games with a mish mash of assets which don't really feel like they belong together for subtle aesthetic differences will give a bad impression.
