49:24 I also had this same revelation like 3 years ago, and I haven't really had any way to put my own thoughts out into the world, so I'm just gonna say it in this comment that no one will read. I was playing hypixel skyblock, and I had a period of time where I was really focused on making a lot of money per hour. And then one day, after getting my divan armour maxed out, I realised that even though dillo mining is like 3x faster than jade mining, I couldn't maintain that mental state for even nearly as long, and I was actually making less money overall, because I needed to take so many breaks. That then got me into the thought process of deciding what I should optimise for. Instead of optimising for coins per hour, I moved to optimising for total amount of coins I can earn without destroying my mental. Eventually that led me to the realisation that what I should really be optimising for is neither of those, and instead I should be optimising for enjoyment. But I also realised that there are exceptions. Like factorio. For obvious reasons. The final part of my awakening was the first time I heard NL refer to video games as toys. Because if you're not a literal professional, they really are just toys.

+2. Sometimes optimizing can be a big part of the enjoyment, but the moment where it supplants the enjoyment you start to lose your way. A slightly unfun moment can be worth it if you have more fun afterwards as a result. But it's easy to slide too far down that slope and lose sight of why you actually enjoy playing something.

People saying no to people in Britain doing Latin are wrong. It's not overly common but you can choose it at a fair amount of schools and it's often mandatory at private schools. There's actually a big political fallout just now as the labour government want to remove it from grammar schools (public schools that you need to test to get into)
