yeah I know its slow, I recently renewed mine too, but theres no way that there wasn't one near him if he planned ahead of time. Idk about other people, but international travel is generally something I do a lot of planning for many months ahead of time, that should probably be more than enough time to get a passport if you start the passport process when you know you'll need to travel

Legit though getting a passport is insane. Born in the states and had no issues, but it still took 4 months from appointment to receiving it in the mail to get the passport. Also that border guard is miserable cause their job could be done better by a half-functional kiosk from a run down mall.

Getting a Visa has always been easy for me. Even when I got one last minute. If you're willing to spend like $300-700 (pricing really varies) you can get an expediated passport where a company has people who just stand in line all day to fill in that paperwork for you. That's all they do all day. If you plan your passport out like 6 months in advance it's incredibly cheap and easy. Even if there's delays or long waits you can just get all your initial stuff done and wait. Getting a passport is incredibly easy in America unless you do it in the worse way possible which is wait last minute and do it all by yourself. If you waited last minute... you just need to spend the $. Otherwise you 100% risk not getting your passport in time.
