At the age of 30 I finally read my whole Bible. I wept reading this passage, when He asked do you love me three times. I realized all the times I denied HIM in front of others just like Peter. I hope to do a little better each day and feed his sheep.

For those who don't understand, i will explain you the meaning of why Jesus asks Peter 3 times if he loves Him. The answer is, because before Jesus died, Peter denied Jesus 3 times.

His sacrifice was sufficient to pay the penalty for the sins of the world (1 John 2:2). A created being could not pay the infinite penalty required for sin against an infinite God. Only God could pay such an infinite penalty.

When Jesus said that Peter would get old and would be taken where he doesn't want to go, I was really sad about that. Like Jesus forgave Peter. But also Peter would have to pay for what he did. That is utterly heart wrenching to me.

Well jesus way is too hard for most people, at least when you live in the 1st century. When Jesus said about Peter's death he didn't mean that it would be some sort of punishment for betraying jesus but it was really it, the disciples did have to risk their lives. Death by crucifixion was and is a humiliation, it makes you the same as the worst criminal. But for what to come, it was/is totally worth it. Surely peter had worked so hard to preach his master's teaching, and I'm glad he and his peers endured till the end, despite the horrible death so that I and many people may receive God's grace.
