Abuse is not use. Running my JP23 in phoenix and somedays the bass knob says 136 degrees... when using it it cools in about 20 mins to under 90 degrees. Don't run low ohm loads and push everything to the max and heat wont be an issue. These are good amps... Will def get my business again, I promote using them to all my customers 👍

I've been into car audio since the old school Liner Power, Zapco, & Sherwood days. All of my cars have had upgraded stereos installed by myself. So I decided to pick up and Installed one of these JP2300v2 with the back plexiglass facing into the car running at 2ohms pushing two 12's kicker Q-Class. This amp gets down, hits the deep low notes beautifully, runs cool and never has overhead. I previously was using a Brazilian smart 3k bass and never even came close to the power and clean output that this JP2300v2 puts out. Solid amp great product, and it shipped out immediately 👍🏼

Maybe you can start including spacers with your amps. Atleast an added option from the dropdown menu for extra few bucks.

I've been nothing short of impressed with any product I've received with the D4S brand on it. As someone else said, anything in mass production can fail, but the important thing is how does the company stand behind their products? They can't guarantee your item wont break, but what they can do is make sure the customer receives fair treatment. And from what I've seen, JP and the crew at D4S is there for their customers.

my amp fail was different, none of it was user error electrical was up to par to hold that amp. 14.7 volts, music at low volume kept hearing noises in subs then it destroyed almost every cap bout caught on fire. went straight to your warranty took 2 months and horrible customer service. even came to you personally for help and even you didnt really help me
@ryzenpeak
@ryzenpeak 24 күн бұрын
Remember they have specific requirements for their warranties to be upheld and if any single one of them wasnt held up on your end they wont honor your warranty. If it truly was a defect and the amp was the issue that sucks and id be mad too. But they ask for very specific setup for the amps especially larger ones, and most amps dont just light on fire without something happening. Ive had every big name amp peoole say theyve had fires and issues with and ive never had issues 🤷‍♂️ ive had skar, taramps, audiopipe, and d4s all on completely wrong electrical, not enough power and still no issues

I just got my amp last week. Coming from only Fosgate amps I was kinda skeptical but wanted to give yall a chance. Let me say I am very impressed and for the price I say it is the best amp. I noticed it did get a little hot and I had the same idea as you said. I noticed the fans on on the bottom and decided to raise the amp and let me tell you that’s all it needed. This video was much needed because I don’t think many people raise their amp for air flow

*Joe from Dallas Tx here… I am in the middle of a big build and I am considering using some JPs as I have faith in his products. But I think it’s laziness or lack of knowledge with most people not wanting to put in the small amount of extra effort to raise their amps. All amps are supposed to be on some form of standoffs due to every amp on the market having fans on the bottom. JP is right there’s multiple reasons why any amp will fell or heat up but as far as overheating, amps must sit on standoffs to breathe and stay cool and for best performance have external fans blowing through the amp under and top where the heatsink is

1. Never has my JP 33 gotten hot behind the rear seat of a ford superduty crewcab on an amp rack. Have only had 1 issue with my JP33 and the amp still played. The Bluetooth module in the amp for the bass knob failed. I'm waiting for it to get back in the next day or two to push the 12 zv6 again. D4S customer service was more than helpful and right on getting the problem fixed. Thanks D4S

Bought a JP95 and absolutely love it! I really think most people don't wire up systems properly or understand WHY it's important. Good wire and caps/batteries are pricey and add to the build more then the average installer is mabye prepared for or has little knowledge of. These are amazing amps for people that want high quality equipment at a price point they can afford!

Yea everytime I change something around I have to pull up a diagram to make sure I get the series/parallel wiring correct. It's so basic and I mostly remember how to do whatever I want to do but I have to double check and sometimes I make mistakes. Everyone else I know that has owned a system didn't know shit but would happily pull it apart, and move some wires around, and jus goof with their stuff trying to get more bass lmao That's pretty much the most simple thing to get right yet people so often don't even pull up a Google image to learn about how to hook their stuff up before they go to plugging shit in and turning knobs lol

The fact that most users on forums I've seen have pushed these well below their ohm rating sets a huge point for the durability of these amps. Don't do this if you don't know what you are doing and don't want a possible failure. I am looking to put a JP95 in my Ford Maverick because the power to price ratio is amazing. Love the color options and the old US amp designs. I will be purchasing soon, and think your products look great, may even give the 3 way comps a try!

I’ve got a JP8 and had it on a 12” Savard HiQ 12” dual 2 ohm sub. I live in south Texas and quit often in the summer would see the temp on the remote show 120 degrees when I would first turn it on. Even after playing at high volumes near clipping for 30 minutes, the highest temp I EVER saw was 126 degrees. The amp was mounted under my seat on 1/2” risers to allow air flow under the amp for the fan. LOVE the JP amps and eventually will be buying more!!! Thanks JP!!!!!

Amazing amplifiers Really hoping my JP63 treats me as well as all the JP23's have, thousand for an amp is a lot for the average joe, but the power you advertise and the quality of your amplifiers and customer service... First off i love my jp23v1.5.....best amp i have owned since the mid 90s when i owned a punch 150 .....i run an american bass xr 12 dual 2 2400 peak ....and have to keep the gain on the jp turned down just under half way ....because the sub cant handle any more power ....and i run it full tilt a lot ....and i have never seen over 120 degrees .....i do usually have the window down ....in my 98 s10 extended cab ....and i do have the amp mounted with half in spacers so air can flow under the amp.....and i do have upgraded alternator....big 3 ...frame grounds and 0 guage .....and it may go out next time i turn it on but almost a year in now and its been flawless ....even in the hottest of a tennessee summer .....i would guess most people having trouble have the amp mounted where it cant get good air flow around it ....run it at too low a ohm load ....or bad electrical ....i wouldnt hesitate to buy another jp series amp ....probably will eventually add another 12 and another jp23v1.5...anyways just my opinions and facts about my usage and experiences

Just got my JP83 installed finally 2 days ago. Been beating on it HARD wired to 1ohm and it's not gone above 90 I think at all. Hardly warm to the touch. Got it spaced properly, wired properly, powered properly, and set properly. Not under powered, and clipping it to the moon. Common sense will go far, but unfortunately it isn't so common nowadays.. This thing is beastly if you feed and care for the beast properly. 😈

As a former professional installer understand everything that you said in your video as far as consumers not being on the up-and-up and knowledgeable about power supplies as well as installation. Yes there is a fan on the bottom of your amplifiers but perhaps you should make the feet Mount taller so that that fan to circulate properly. A minor adjustment that may read your 1% problem. Just a few thoughts from an IASCCA finanlist and former professional installer.

I'll say this. JP is the only person addressing any issue like this anywhere really. People don't realize, there are only a hand full of companies that make car audio components. Companies like JP go to these companies and put their name on it. D4S just chooses from a line the company likes. Then the real company that makes the amp or whatever. Just puts the name on it. It's possible that D4S amps and Memphis amps come from the same company. I just chose Memphis as an example.

I’ve had every type of amp and it doesn’t matter if it’s designed or not designed for heavy use it will overheat if it’s hot outside and if it’s a serious Setup multiple fans and PC cooling is definitely the way. Even my 90’s setups have fans for hot days. It’s just a common sense stand point and most people don’t have it.

I’ve had a Jp43 on 2 Skar Zvx 12s and maybe I shouldn’t admit this but they’ve been wired to a Quarter/0.25 ohms for about a whole year now. I did blow one sub but the amp has been outperforming and exceeding my expectations since the day I bought it and it’s still going strong on 0.25 ohms!! No other amps I’ve ever had will do this especially for an extended period of time and not blow. I keep it cool with a marine fan and don’t exceed temps over 52 degrees Celsius or around 130 Fahrenheit. I know my amp placement isn’t the best but it is spaced and I would post any pics anyone would want to see. The only issues I’ve ever had is one with an internal fan on my Jp34ab making a slight noise when it first powers on in colder weather which is kinda odd imo. The second issue was when the one time I did think I had a problem with my Jp43 and contacted you guys with my warranty claim and described basically every issue I was having and all the steps of trouble shooting I did… I never received a response from anyone at D4S with any useful information, trouble shooting steps I may have missed or anything even when my product was still under warranty 😑 D4S has righted a wrong order for me before but this experience left me wandering what the true intentions of the D4S brand is now. I was under the impression it is was for us the customers but it seems like it’s evolving into just another company that only cares about one thing and that is it’s products’ profitability.

Hi jp I have the jp 234 & jp 84 they great amplifiers. I always use 3/4 inch nylon spacers to create space & bolt them.On any amplifier also I add 2 small fans on bottom plate of amplifier. Make circle cut out exact for 12v fan to fit in or out the amplifier bottom plate . Finally attach the 12v fan to amplifier remote so it's on when amplifier is on then off when amplifier is off .Finally add 1 amperage fuse to fan from amplifier remote just to keep within electrical code 😊. That's how you keep your amplifier running for long time. That's a great explanation jp keep the good work

I live in AZ where it get to 120 degrees and well the most i do is when mounting my amplifier to car i used washers on each corner so the amp is about half an inch above the wood im using and ive never had an amp overheat or blow up lol no fans needed

The amps are solid, I'm still running an original jp 63, but the bass knobs? I know corners have to be cut a bit to bring the best at an affordable price but me personally, don't need the bass knobs, nothing beats feeling the temp when the amps are in reach and using a voltage meter

I ran my JP8 for over a year every single day with no over heating issues lol most ppl I see blow their D4S amps wire below the required ohm loads and don’t even have the electrical to run them that low 😅🔊

Well I was using a jp13 on 4 ct sounds tropo 10s for a few months and I work offshore so my drive to the heliport is 5hrs and I play the SHIT!!!! out of it, now that being said I just ordered and installed the jp23v2 and will do the same thing. I'm very confident these amps are amazing if supplying proper power and don't just throw it on your floorboard. P.S I just need a better alternator...

Mine works great for over 3 years now even when it's 110 degrees outside and like 140 in my car. Never missed a beat. Yes I have the ac on before I turn it up.

one time i had an amp the had condensation built up on top and inside making it wet and the person i had do my install told me do not power it on disconnect the negative cable then take out the fuse from the positive then reconnect the negative cable to the battery and move the car in the sun for awhile then i proceeded to find the source of water that contributed to the condensation issues. took care of that and left it dry out for a few days "no power what so ever" then when i was good to go i just took of the negative cable to the battery put the fuze back in reconnected the negative and was fine. it really does matter on how well you take care of your stuff. had no issues with the amp or any thing. ran like it should and was tuned like it should with what little power i had to provide it lol. miss having a system

I've had my 1st gen jp23 since the 1st week they was sending out orders wired to 1ohm been banging it since never had an issue with it overheat never gets over 105 degrees honestly for the money per watt and the fact they are stable at .5 ohms really hard to beat if you are having an issue maybe you aren't operating it like designed the clip light is there for a reason lol

Great products. Your correct, most folks don’t run proper electrical and expect great output. Bass on. When people hate, your doing something great.

I have 2 jp 23 v.2 amps strapped at .5 ohm each to 2 sundown 12's 150db+ and I play them about 2 hours everyday without any issues

Soo true. Everyone wants to be a pro installer but doesn't want to take advice. I've had my jp23's strapped .5 ohm each. Gets hot yes. But never had a single issue. And I've had them running daily like this for a year now. Only during summer times do I get red lighted. But got me some better high flow fans and I play all day long.

I've been running a JP8 for a year now. My amp/battery rack is an enclosed custom-built frame to the right of, and flush with, my box. I has a piece of black HDPE on it to make it look finished, but my amp would overheat and shut off if I ran it hard on the dog days we have here in GA. I removed the plastic finish piece and the amp didn't shut off again. It couldn't get any air,so I removed the barrier and bam! Problem solved.

If I still had my thermal imager, I'd love to post a video showing a weak electrical system taxes the amps power supply to provide the current. Low voltage is heat too.

Hey jp, I have to voice my opinion on this. Haters are always gonna hate PERIOD!! Someone has a bad experience with an amplifier. Never figure out the cause first, just quick to blame! My jp23 gets hot and goes into protect all the time, so I turn it off, let air get to it, and bass some more. People need to be taken to school on how to properly use it versus abuse it!! Just sayin'!!!
