Greetings from Prokhorovka! My great grandfather fought that battle. He was the Tank Commander. Battle of Kursk is considered the largest tank battle in history. About 2 million people, 6 thousand tanks, 4 thousand aircraft took part in this battle and it lasted 50 days. After so many years, we still find unexploded shells in the ground. One such defused shell lies like a trophy at home

Panzers are the german tanks. (Panzer means “Tank” in German) The main Germans tanks were called Panzerll, Panzerlll, Panzerllll, Panthers & Tigers. The name of the main Russians tanks were T-34s & KVs

Time for some nerdy stuff about tanks. The Russians seemed to have in the video the T-34 the tank on the train KV-1 the two tanks coming up a hill The Germans seemed to have the Panzer III Panzer IV Stug III StugIV Panther G Tiger 1 The German tanks have Mk's and they look like Ausf A example would be Panzer IV Ausf H I could tell you pretty much every tank the nations had but I won't.

Panzer is short for Panzerkampfwagon (Armored Fighting Vehicle) which is where Sabaton got the name of the song. The main German tanks were Panzerkampfwagon mark I (PzKpfw I) or Panzer 1 First produced in 1934, Panzer II 1936, Panzer III & Panzer IV (1939) Panzer (Panther) V (1943) , and the Panzer VI (Tiger) 1942. The later tanks actually saw service after WW II, by refurbishment in France and Czechoslovakia. Which is where Syria got them from from 1954 to 1967. If you ever get a chance to got to a Tank Museum, you'll be amazed how small and large some of the tanks are. Interesting read is how the German tanks compared to the Russian tanks in WW II, especially when it came to handling the cold and mud.

Tiger 1, Panther, Panzer 3 and 4 but they did not use Maus. And the Russians KV 1, KV 2, IS-2, IS-3, T-34 and T-34/85. The commander-in-chief of the German army was Erih von Manstein, and of the Russians Georgy Zhukov

Maus wasn’t built till the very end if I’m not mistaken. Manstein was the first german to surrender, wasn’t he?

Awesome reaction At the beginning of the offensive the Germans had the Pnzerkampfwagen 3, 4, 5, once preparations were being made at the Dnepr River and at the end of preparations, the Panzerkampfwagen VI(6) was ushered in to battle. Before starting the assault German had just received the Panzerkampfwagen V(5) Ausf 1H Tiger 1 tank and had plans to utilize their newest weapon at the time, the Panzerkampfwagen VI(6) Ausf D (Panther D), but the Germans never fully put it through it's passes and rushed the development of the Panzer and the Panther Ausf(Version) D, prematurely sending it into battle, they would soon realize that this was somewhat of a poor decision, for the transmission could not support the vehicle in it's neutral gear, which allowed the vehicle to turn on its axis and was prone to damage and braking. And to correct the misperception of that the Germans had a Panzerkampfwagen VIII(8) Maus is wrong. There where only two prototypes made at the end of 1944, one that was assumed to be for the company Adler's E-100 and the hull being for Porsche and Krop's project, which was possibly the Panzerkampfwagen VIII. The one never received it's turret and the other never its hull at the end of the war the Soviets obtained both parts of and assembled them as one, the Maus as we know it today is presented in the Russian Kuninka Tank museum. The Maus is the heaviest heavy tank ever assembled, waighing in at a a whopping 188tons, meaning no bridge of the period would have been able to support its weight and Guderian (inspector General of Armoured troops of the German Wehrmacht) never was supportive of the super heavy tank projects, turning all 3-4 heavy projects down. The battle of Kursk lasted from 05 July to 23 August 1943.

Well the Germans haven’t use maus becuase it was a experimental tank, they use TIGER I, Panzer III, Panzer IV, jagdpanzer IV and stuG III

For Russian, they use T-34s but as well the heavy tanks KV-1 but i don’t remember if they use the KV-2 in the battle (KV-2 has a 152mm howitzer gun) and another tanks was a SU-85

Actually Panzer comes from the word Panzerkampfwagen which means Tank in german. The most known German tanks were Panzer 3, Panzer 4 (probably one of the best ww2 tank), Panther Tank, and Tiger. Mauss tank have never seen combat and only 2 of them were prodouced. For the Soviet probably the most well known tank was the T-34. Panzerkampf translates as Tank Battle.

The T-34 basically won the war. German general Paul Ludwig Ewald von Kleist called it "the finest tank in the world" and Heinz Guderian affirmed the T-34's "vast superiority" over German tanks.
