Leatt sells a fully vented inner frame that can be swapped in on their 6.5 Enduro googles. The bottom is more normal and the top is fully vented. I have them and also the 4.5 goggles. I personally prefer the 4.5 and I just remove the foam on the top part of the frame for more air. The lenses on the 4.5, 5.5 and 6.5 are all interchangeable so I run the dual pane - vented lenses.

Great to have another option. I’m keen to try them

When I first saw these I thought they might be a hot weather goggle. I know from experience that when you remove the vent covers you get a ton of crap in the goggle, including bugs. If I were to use these I'd wear them on hot sweaty days, not cold muddy days.

Look like a perfect winter-trail-riding goggle. The cold wind bugs my eyes but i still have to climb get hot

Thanks for the video. I didn’t know these existed. I prefer glasses but I mainly use googles because I have a low nose bridge that doesn’t work with 90% of glasses and the foam above the eyebrow keeps sweat out of my eyes. I’ll be ordering a pair of these googles.

We hope they work for you! Let us know so others with similar nose can find something that works!

Try a piece of nylon door screen. It's easy to cut and fit with scissors. It keeps the mud out while leaving good airflow.

Yeah that's a good option too. We'll be experimenting for sure as we love how breathable they are!

Strangely enough, I've been cutting my goggles like this for years, even the cloth from other goggles gotta go lol... Especially when I started wearing glasses (can't wear contacts) and very rarely do I get mud or dirt inside. However, it does happen sometimes but for me, I get so hot and steamed up that it's that or no goggles at all... Guess it depends on the rider sometimes too

Maybe a light duty scotch brite pad cut to size and attach with string or needle and thread at each end

I would like to see a review on kenny Performance googles. I had a 100% googles that I made it stay like those Leat and thy stayed with the same problem after the transformation i made on them, loose a bit the strap it helps to disapate eat a lot better and helps the googles not to stay foogy.

Would you recommend these for hot weather riding in dry St George, UT

how are those compared to ones that POC offer, also without a mesh or any foam blocking the airflow?

Ventilated straps are actually designed to make it easier to allow the hot air to escape out of you helmets air exhaust.

Great review as all the reviews from this channel ! Few days ago i tried to ride my emtb below 0 Celsius with my Poc Tectal helmet and with my Alpinestars Vector Pilot helmet to, wearing Poc Devour glasses and the half of the lens just froze :)) i already ordered Velocity 6.5 for my winter rides but i want to wear them with my two mtb helmets, not with a downhill helmet. Is a bad idea ? What do you think ?

Thanks for the kind words. Give em a try! They should work well for those colder rides.

Ive been trying out several goggles but they all seem ro have a blurry ghost image down and center because of the nose piece. Does everyone experience that same kind of thing but eventually the brain just ignores it? I find it distracting and inhibits clear vision. Maybe it's just me.

Sorry, but hasn't this been addressed by the light mesh on the MTB version of the Oakley Airbrakes which supposedly hits the sweet spot between ventilation and protection?...

They don't say on the website, but are the lenses swappable with other Leatt goggles? Currently Im at the point where Im taking cutters to my goggle frames and pulling out foam to get the same level of ventilation

Sorry to point out the obvious but a mudguard would help if you’re riding in muddy or wet conditions. Just ordered some and I’ll let you know how they get on in the lovely UK winter weather.

We rode with a mudguard on the bike. We did not have one of the super duper long UK ones, but still had stuff coming in.

@@TheLoamWolf thanks for letting me know. Sounds like they will be fine once the trails dry up but will try to put some sort of mesh on them if it gets too much👍

Regular goggles without foam over the vents. Truly revolutionary. I wonder if they discovered this from every moto kid on the planet running a tight budget.

Straight up sounds like you needed a fuller coverage front fender. The DH sized Slicy guard looks the sharpest...or for XXL protection check out RRP front fenders. Really sounded like you didn't even use a front fender, let alone a 'regular' sized fender.
@TheLoamWolf
@TheLoamWolf Жыл бұрын
We definitely used a mud guard/fender. We did not use an XXL option however as those aren't very common in our region, but it would have likely offered a bit more protection, though we doubt it would have eliminated the issue completely.

respect...sounds like the bottom half needs a strip of Moto foam with a panel gap to allow fog killing air-flow@@TheLoamWolf
