Another example of why you hire an architect to design your home. You then have the pleasure of living in a one of a kind masterpiece that bubbled up to fruition from the architect's mind.

I think that might just be my perfect house. The location, the colour palette, the textures, the flow, the way it sits on the land. It's just...perfect.

Right to be proud of this - incredibly beautiful use of joinery and structure to frame the views - it feels protected and private but wonderfully connected to the surrounds, and with nothing gimmicky that will go out of style in the next decade. Thanks for showing us this.

Amaroo is also the name of race track located north/west of Sydney, it was closed and the land sold in 1998 sadly. It is where Mark & Ann met in 1995.

The shape does sit perfectly on the site, calm and natural, like it belongs, a perfect fit. I'd worry about the open grain stone flooring materials, they'll get dirty and be impossible to clean.

Beautiful home but come on guys, 350 square metters is not a « relatively small house »… get some respect for people who lived in 10 times smaller please.
@gregarious.4 ай бұрын
Yeah, that was wild to hear. 3767 sqft is massive! It’s 30% bigger than the average newly built house size in the US and this is a single floor home too

You can tell we are not this architects target lol. This is an out of touch way to communicate but it’s pretty common once they start working on really large luxury homes

Probably relative to how much it cost, it is relatively small. Quality is expensive

As someone who lives in a v small condo in a big city - this is incredibly inspiring- and possible. You can totally level up your home at a modest price - High end finishes and millwork, the works. This beautiful result is loaded with great ideas! ❤🙏✨

what i dont get some times is for houses like these that have no fence and protections etc, isn't extremely easy to get robbed and damaged ?
@jamesiversen4 ай бұрын
I wouldn't worry so much about that in these rural areas, but what I'm more curious about is that in a country where so many creatures that fly, slither, and/or crawl are trying to kill you, the houses all open up to the outside to invite them in! 🤣

Wish people hated lawns/grass like they've started to hate trees. Lack of trees is just frightening
@jamesiversen4 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if it is the reason in this particular case, but in areas subject to wildfires it is prudent to reduce the potential fuel load near homes to increase the likelihood of the structure surviving - especially in rural areas where the homeowner is likely the first (and often last) line of defense. I'm sure there are those who will respond with "then don't live in those areas", but the benefits and privilege of waking up to fresh air, beautiful, peaceful surroundings, space and no neighbours is something everyone should be able to appreciate.
@thelalanz734 ай бұрын
They have a ton of trees around them. And have clearance for bush fires which are common each summer in Australia.
@modman190726 күн бұрын
This house is deliberately away from the trees, as australia is a massive fire risk location so on acreage it’s best to be in the open away from the fire source. There are hundreds of acres of trees surrounding the house and not one tree was removed in the building of the house. You also need to be careful to give dangerous wild life a place to hide up against the house……
