Grazie mille

Agreed but towards the end of the chat it was getting very pshycological with the comments on devon not forgiving tucker or Josh Griffith firing a lot of the breakdown writers which Sony made him do. And yes I am seeing Micheal zaslow Roger thorpe right now in tucker and his dynamics with Ashley and devon and wanting to take over jabot but you know what we need that right now it's been a long time since we lost Micheal zaslow. And as for the idea of shiela teaming up with Jordan that won't work. Period that also came up in the live chat as Sheila is the bells creation and completely incompatible and Jordan is a throwback to Doug Marland era atwt with Jordan bieng a bit like James stenbeck and Victoria right now acting a bit like Barbara for which coleen played so well and Clair bieng like Andy kavovit Paul Ryan a bit. And we need that and as I write this I am watching a newly posted aw episode from November 17th 1988 from Eddie drudings channel which was the period where harding Lemay just left again and Micheal zaslow and his wife Susan hufford were acting as Co headwriters before Donna, swajeski came in the last week of November and began screwing up the show it's a shame as much as I enjoyed watching Micheal zaslow play Roger thorpe in the 1990s a big part of me thinks aw screwed up by not just having Micheal zaslow and his wife Susan just take over as headwriters from harding Lemay because from what I am seeing as a writer Micheal and his wife were as good of a, writer as Doug Marland was and on top of that like Douglas who was an actor first Micheal had the ability to understand how to write charecter driven stories just like harding Lemay and Douglas.

I always love reading what you write, and then I have to stop myself from answering some of them with their comments! But one William Russ, who I loved was the first Tucker he was near 60 the character because he was paired off for Jill ABBOTT being a few years older than her character, he was fabulous devious just an incredible character actor to watch!! And Stephen Nichols came in to capitalize on him and Eileen Davidsons days I guess on days of our lives together of course I’m not too sure cause I wasn’t sure of days of our lives storylines and he was decent, but I never got over William Russ. He was just awesome. And like I said, Trevor nailed his character by the third episode 20 something years younger, but he pulled it off perfectly and of course, with the Ashley storyline that Steve Nichols started. I know The wonderful, great Michael Zaslow I believe his passing is now about 25 year’s, Lord rest his soul! And I think a lot of viewers don’t remember Steve Nichols playing Tucker and Devon’s mother and that whole storyline from years ago then they can kind of understand the relationship these two characters have today because I certainly do because as you know I’ve been with our show since day one and I’m so happy were renewed for four more years, but today’s interview was truly magnificent❤

@@benjaminautieri9606 yes it was William russ I kind of remember playing tucker and I think he was on another soap as for Stephen Nichols I remember him from days and general hospital. And Stephen Nichols got drafted to y and r because he got dropped to reacuring along with Mary Beth Evans at days after hogan sheffer did the wonderful thing of fixing and undoing the death of Steven Johnsons death in 1990. Which resulted in Mary Beth Evans bieng gone for almost 15 years. And Kayla not bieng heard from or mentioned for years. And as for Micheal zaslow and Roger thorpe and what I remember watching at gl. I did not even relize fully that until the live chat and hearing the different comments talking about devon and the dynamics with Ashley and the whole tucker scheming with Audra and wanting to take over jabot it really is a throwback to Micheal zaslow and the Roger thorpe I remember watching and even has flares of Roger sleeping with Mindy while married to Alexandra and his relationship with Holly and Blake. And don't forget Jack deveroex and Matt Ashford and Roger Howarth and Todd manning they had to play things Micheal zaslow did first as Roger thorpe with raping Holly. And that's why for years Matt Ashford put those quirks in jack deveroex which annoyed Jim rielly but that's what fans wanted from Jack and his chemistry with Missy Reaves as Jennifer and don't forget Roger put those quirks in Todd like the intimacy issues and the comedic sarcasm. All things Micheal zaslow did first but also Anthony herrara as James stenbeck. Sure we all have different ideas but again it comes down to does it fit and to me it makes no sense for Sheila to return to y and r at all and scheme with Jordan as that would not be Doug m like at all. And I just thought of another thing and that's Courtney hope and Sally and let's say I am glad brad bell had no use for her at bold and the beautiful as he ruined her charecter with Sally bieng so bad. While at y and r Sally was real bad at first with her scheming against summer and Kyle but Josh Griffith has evolved her into a charecter through her relationship with Adam into a charecter you can relate to and sympathize with and actually root for. Now to Michelle Stafford and phylis I don't like watching phylis regress back into the charecter she was when she first came on the show and that came up in the live chat and that's why I said let Christine have Danny and move phylis to tucker or do a Billy phylis repairing. Because phylis deserves better and so does Michelle Stafford. But at the end of the day I am loving y and r right now. And benjamin your talking about William Russ is making me think about David Bailey who played russ Matthew's for years at aw but after aw ended passions picked him up to play Alistair crane who was a real villian and then he died like 2 or 3 months later. But also about actors like russel Todd and the writing on shows look at Tina Sloane and aw where at first she was written well but due to the constant change in writers it did not work out but then she came to guiding light where she thrived or judi Evans at aw and gl and days where she thrived I. All 3 shows even when at aw there were bad writers and awful storylines.

And benjamin I have to stop myself too from answering some of them this was my second time in months where I was reading the live chat where normally it's chaos in a good way but I am Learning to focos and not respond to everyone. But that's why normally I just watch and comment after but today and yesterday was great during the live chat and of course I am learning things from Alan like not always blaming the actor but take into account the writing and production. Too and sure I probably would have wacky ideas too but then I have to stop myself and go okay would have a charecter like phylis cross dress and suddenly turn out to be bisexaul be apropriate or make any sense or would having jack abbot resort back to be the womenizer schemer he was when Terry Lester played jack be apropraite. Or right and that's what I think has become a real issue with daytime but I am also seeing it with hallmark channel too with to much wokeness and for me when it gets too caught up in the political to try and please one group that's a problem for me. Like for example the nonsense on hallmark right now with Jane Austin month with inappropriate just a bunch of people of one race during the 1800s which is not even accurate for that time period for me I normally do not think like that it comes down to am I enjoying what I am watching but when TV gets too into culture and political wars with I have to have a gay charecter and I need a interracial couple In Every movie like hallmark is doing and it can only be black that's bad too because it takes from the entertainment just to try and please everyone. And for me makes me want to not watch the show because it is too woke. Just my thoughts which is why we need to stop with the culture wars infiltrating soaps and television in general and think about what's apropraite and not apropraite and does it fit that time period or the charecters. And that's my thoughts.

It's great to see Trev back on daytime where he belongs. 👁 like his take on the scion of the legendary Jeanne Cooper's Catherine Chancellor. He is lo key, personable and keeps his focus on the work with humility and grace. From time to time 👁 notice he tends to improvise in his scenes a la with his "grandson" while playing with him or being bored/unimpressed/frustrated at the masquerade ball at the GCAC. Although the "writing" is abysmal on a good day at Y & R, from time to time I would stream a scene of his and be amused. 👁 hope that he does more pet projects for creative fulfillment and keeps Y & R as a paycheck gig. P.S. 👁 really hoped he and Eileen were cast as Kristen Dimera and Peter Blake even if only in Beyond Salem. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Being able to pinch hit for the force that is Roger Howarth is no easy feat.

Great interview Alan and yes Trevor has a quality like Micheal zaslow but also Roger Howarth and Matt Ashford but unlike Roger thorpe or Jack deveroex or Todd manning tucker has not raped anyone. But Trevor's chemistry with Eileen Davidson and tucker and Ashley's relationship and tuckers dynamics with his son devon is a bit of a throwback to the dynamics between Roger and Holly and Blake. From the 1990s. And tucker scheming to get his hands on jabot is a bit of a throwback to Roger thorpe and Spaulding and Alexandra. Which we need right now and that's what I meant by my comment which was responding to someone else who was critizising devon for bieng so unforgiving towards tucker and some of the others were saying bring Sheila back and have her team up with Jordan but that would not work. Right now y and r needs that Doug Marland type dynamics and storytelling it's been since March of 1993 since we have had that with a few exceptions for brief periods. And that was my point and if you compare b and b right now still bieng run by the bells and y and r it's no comparison y and r is the far better soap. Just my thoughts also critisism of Josh Griffith firing the breakdown staff came up but Sony made him do that but he has rehired some of those writers. And you know what Doug Marland executive produced loving and headwrote it and did the breakdowns himself too. And in y and rs case Josh doing that has resulted in an excellent looking show and you know what I think that was part of the problem that hurt soaps having too much writing staff and cooks in the kitchen and you know what soaps were better without excess writing staff and too many cooks in the kitchen. We have all this technology now that guys like Doug Marland would have loved to have had so too me we don't need a ton of cooks in the kitchen just focus on good storytelling that's true to the charecters and show and the ratings will come without going crazy

You too Alan again I have been watching and seeing things for months on the show but from some of the comments during the live chat I was just trying to explain and like I said it shows Trevor's talent to even be able to pull off such complex stuff and deliver a performance like Micheal zaslow could and we need that right now just like coleen zenk was talking about during your last interview. Daytime has had so many talented actors yet many of them like russel Todd and Jamie just was not written well and that's not right. And speaking of Micheal zaslow and Als I was watching on you tube about jason Becker who was a promising young guitarist who with marty freidman had a band called cacophony before marty freidman went to megadeth and jason Becker replaced Steve Vai in David Lee roths band only to get the Als diagnosis at age 20. And he is still alive but can only comunicate with his eyes. And the thing is Jason's dad devoloped the technology that I think Micheal zaslow used to comunicate. While someone else devoloped the technology to still allow Jason Becker to compose music. I know with Als people usually die within a couple of years but Jason is still alive but guitars he owned have had to be auctioned off for his care. Maybe I am bit off topic but I think it is important that we honor greats. Music needs it but is coming back and to see shows like y and r really go back to the Doug Marland type storytelling and the stuff stephen and Nancy wrote on guiding light because they wrote that for guiding light and I remember that's when I first watched guiding light. And the news that Patrick mulcahy is the new Co headwriter gives me hope that I will be able to watch general hospital again. And Patrick mulcahy learned a lot from Doug Marland even if he may think Doug Marland was not a good teacher but through Doug Marlands way he learned how to tune in to the actors and write properly for the charecters and actors. Have a good weekend.
