Join us live in The Locher Room on Wednesday, September 18th at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT as we honor the 15th anniversary of the final episode of Guiding Light! ✨
I'm excited to welcome Guiding Light’s Frank Dicopoulos, who captivated audiences for 22 years as the beloved Frank Cooper! Frank's career began in primetime with memorable appearances on Falcon Crest, Who's the Boss?, and Hotel to name a small few. Currently, he lends his voice to Andrew Rutledge in the final season of the audio drama Forever and a Day.
We'll look back at Frank's remarkable journey on Guiding Light, where his character, Frank Cooper, became the heart of Springfield. The show built the entire Cooper family around him, introducing his sister, father, and mother, creating one of the most beloved families in daytime television. We’ll also dive into his experiences on other projects and what he’s been up to since the show's final curtain 15 years ago today.
Don't miss this chance to relive the magic of Guiding Light, celebrate Frank's incredible career, and hear his behind-the-scenes stories!

Alan, I never saw a man radiate such warmth and enthusiasm as Frank. He had me smiling and crying simultaneously talking about his professional and personal careers. My best to him and his family and to all those who brought GL into our homes and hearts.

Agreed Micheal and micheal I am glad, I am not the only one who found the Megan McTavish undoing Lucy's rapist death by Alan micheal then having him cross dress then kill Nadine offensive and violent. If I had my way Nadine would have still been around married to buzz Co owning the Diner which became company. See you hopefully tonight in the Locher Room.

@@michaelcdavis7047 I had to stop watching 1995. Around september micheal not sure what happened to frank beatty. I wish Ken l fitts had just left Jill faren phelps at guiding light to be honest and John valente at another world. But brought micheal liabson to as the world turns imstead to replace laurance caso. Who got burnt out. And I have to agree with Jill lorie Hurst it was one of the worst decisions ever made at guiding light amongst others. Anyway micheal I have been watching daily posts on Eddie drudings channel of another world I have been enjoying watching harding Lemays brief return from 1988. Too bad micheal liabson yes the same ep we are, discussing at gl screwed that up by rehiring Donna, swajeski who scab wrote during the writers strike and from what I understand that pissed harding Lemay off in 1988 and he walked off the set and quit. I don't blame him. Let's say I am liking hardings doing little story arcs and it looked like he was, begining to bring it all together with Jason frame evan bates and drew Marston. Let's just say I wish back when Ed trach was ep in charge of production he had moved liabson back in 1991 back over to guiding light to replace the retiring Bob Calhoun rehired Paul Rauch for aw. And then had harding Lemay come back for a third time and the dobsons rehired jill for Santa Barbara, instead of Paul Rauch. Heck micheal harding and Paul could have fixed the Jake raping marley stuff by doing a 1988 oltl by having it turn it to be drew Marston maquarading around as Jake for 2 years with a face transplant scheming with evan bates. That would hsve been a great story and a good way to corect a bad headwriter. And micheal that idea came to me from the faux Bo Patrick London storyline Paul Rauch did with s michral snezzal did at oltl in 1988. And that's what harding was competing with along with Doug Marland atwt. Who knows maybe my remixing reseting the 3 p and g shows could fix thay with flashback weeks.

I forgot how much I enjoyed Frank DiCoupolus on Guiding Light ( apologies for the misspelling of his name). What an earnest person he is. Frank could have been a Bauer as his character had all the traits of giving all for family/friends. He is just a great guy and so cool to see him giving his daughter away at her wedding. Gotta say back in the 90’s had a crush on his real life Teja. Really loved this interview Alan. As we are in so many dark times with the world right now, gotta say this interview with Frank brought it all Home.

What a fun interview. Frank seems like a really genuine guy and a joy to work with. But I'm just going to keep it real and say that GL really didn't hold up enough to keep me watching, despite having been a fan since the Ben and Eve days, as it started doing idiotic stories like Reva's ghost, her clone, the stupid San Cristobel nonsense that took so much of the story out of Springfield, and then her time travel through a portrait. At that point, I just turned it off, and by the time it went off the air, I wasn't sorry since I hadn't watched in years. If anyone were to produce a sequel or a movie, I pray to God they pretend none of that nonsense ever existed in Springfield and was just the fevered nightmare of a deathly ill Josh who is finally coming out of a 20-year coma or something. But I love Frank Dicopoulos. Thank you for bringing him on the show!

Love Frank & his demeanor. He exudes kindness. I was a big fan of Frank with Eleni. I was upset when Alan Michael manipulated his way in between them. I also remember there was a short time that Frank & Mindy dated after Curt died. Frank went to South America to find Curt, who was missing. I think there was a writer's strike during that time.💛

Alan a great interview again and Jill lorie Hurst was getting a lot of love too in the live chat and considering the amc news about bieng a series of lifetime movies. I think it's time to bring the 3 p and g shows back including guiding light with Jill faren phelps as, ep Jill lorie Hurst Nancy Williams watt, Stephen and Nancy demorest as headwriters remix reset the show.. So people like Jean Carol can grace our screens again as Nadine. And make right some of those worst decisions and give guiding light along with another world and as the world turns a fresh start. Before the people who get these shows are no longer alive. And Alan of course I agree with micheal c who brought up Lucy's cross dressing rapist killing Nadine in a violent manner but Alan as I told you I found it offensive months before that with what Megan McTavish was doing. When Brent was clearly shot and killed by Alan micheal and thrown into the water off the docks only to show up cross dressing like a freakish clown to get revenge on Lucy and the town like really Jill lorie Hurst was absolutely right it was one of the worst decisions ever to kill Jean Carol and Nadine off but also one of the most offensive storylines ever done on daytime even worse than the reva clone storyline. So shame on micheal liabson for even letting Megan McTavish take over the whole show but Alan I think it took that violent airing and Megan McTavishes stubbornness and trying to take over the whole show to get her canned but it shows how good Ken l fitts was as, an Ep In charge of production because when the eps made mistakes like Jill or micheal liabson did he would point it out but when they needed support offered it to them and would not hesitate to fire a bad writer if they gave the producer a, rough time or were told no. And did not back down like Megan McTavish. See you tommorow in the Locher Room.
