Fixing the Christmas Tree | Vlogmas 2024

We have our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. Takes the stress away from the big day and I get to enjoy the morning watching the kids open presents rather than rushing in and out of the kitchen. Christmas day we stay in PJs all day and enjoy the leftovers.

Beautiful Christmas tree and like the gold deco really goes well. We are staying at home for Christmas with family. I have a mate who I soldiered with in West Germany coming over for Christmas . He is staying with me for a cpl of days before we drive to my sisters house, on the top of a mountain so lots of wet weather warm clothing needed lol. Plus he gets to meet my sisters dog Luqa and her 11 cats who she rescued. All have their own wee characters some very skittish and one called Jack who when you pet him “grooms you” by licking your hand!! So looking forward to fun times with him as he is now suffering from mild dimensional so we have to keep a close eye on him at all times But lots of good and drink required. Loved the vid guys and it’s getting me further into a festive mood as up to now it hasn’t felt like Christmas

So I had to look up wassail(wessell) cups. Wassalling is indeed to go from house to house singing and getting a drink at each as a reward. The thinking is that the silver cups were then hung on the evergreen boughs inside homes. This was from the National Mining Museum website. But according to the website it was particular to Yorkshire (calling tree decorations wessell/wassail cups). Our family are all in the UK but we have close friends (Northern California) we spend Christmas Day with and have done for 28 years. We used to alternate hosting but they are 10 years older than us so they now come to us and spend a couple of nights.

Loving the Christmas vlogs. You really are cramming a lot in. We follow Northerners on Tour who live permanently in their motor home and they’ve just come back from 3 months in Spain. They’ve been to some beautiful places and may give you some ideas on where’s good to visit.

Being from coastal North Carolina we will begin Xmas day on the water kayaking, then on to an oyster roast, barbecue/all the fixings, and ending with traditional bread pudding. Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Day at Universal Studios Orlando 😀, followed by all we can eat & drink at our hotel in the afternoon, then Orlando Eye in the evening if open. Merry Christmas guys xx

Every other year we go to our daughters in bristol and spend a few days with them and the other years we spend at home and cook christmas dinner and family pop in on and off through day, we also take grandchildren to see santa in the run up to Christmas x

I've been to where that web cam is in Lapland... its fab, if you go stay in the local town not the resort it's much cheaper n much better I think. Go sooner rather than later cos its becoming really commercial and popular. Husky and reindeer rides are a must oh and deffo do snow mobiles. We go to our local Indian restaurant on Christmas Day. Then on Boxing Day we go to the panto at the Alhambra , in Bradford. We have a meal in the restaurant first, before the panto. Haven’t missed the Bradford panto for nearly 15 yrs. Bit of a treck from Doncaster but it’s always a good panto.

For us it's tree replacement time. Even though we kept it watered and fed (the stuff Lowes gave us) our live tree didn't last long. Had to break out our artificial tree with a week to go before Christmas.

We used to have the whole family at my parents but lost both over past few years so now we are just the two of us on Xmas day & then off to my nephews on Boxing Day for the family gathering. You could use gold balloons on the tree that way you can make them as big as you want I did that this year when I couldn’t find baubles big enough I used blue balloons also it looks really nice and they don’t look like balloons when set into the foliage of the tree and it’s cheap as chips lol

🎄Since our families “can’t get their acts together” we will be celebrating on Sun., Dec. 29th. Less stressful then too. Re: Christmas Cards I only send a card to those who sent me a card. Also I enclose a card in each of the packages that have to be mailed. Postage has gotten so expensive.

Won't the signs on the van make you a target for thieves on your travels when the van is unattended? Thieves can watch your van vlogs and see all your goodies E bikes, laptops, etc.
