I work for a bank in the US and we relocated one of our branches out of the big old bank type buildings and a restaurant moved in. They kept the vault and used old vault items for decoration around the restaurant. Old teller cage window, safe deposit doors etc. it is really neat.

I agree with you nick, only because of lockdown we appreciate the country side, avoided all towns and cities, been for walks around the country and seaside, loved holmfirth when we went, had teao and cake in the cafe beautiful

Slaithwaite pronounced ‘slough it’, my husband’s family are from there, use to go and visit his gran there years ago. We went on the yorkshire ale trail last year with a group of friends, stopped off there at one of the pubs, it was an amazing day out.

Just catching up on some of your older vlogs. The Magic Rock brewery bar is in a building that was formerly a bank. The volt in the cellar will be from when it actually was a bank a few years ago. The brewery itself is near Huddersfield town centre by the way. Love the vlogs and the apartment.

Right near the farm in Holmfirth there’s a butchers called brindon addy and it’s such a good butcher! They have a deli counter, they sell gin and wine and they do fresh fruit and veg it’s like a farm shop. We live in Manchester and travel there regularly for a stock up.

Aww, going to Holmfirth took me back - well over 20 years! I went there with my Mam and went in the cafe for lunch. Would you consider visiting Howarth? Such a great place for Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights.

Hi! It made me smile how you pronounced Slaithwaite! that is how I would pronounce it, being from Lancashire (tho lived near Leeds for 36 yrs!) Seemingley it should be pronounced sla-wit!! “Last of the Summer Wine” has been shown a lot on public television stations here in the US for years, though, like Leigh, I’ve never seen an episode. There are a few British series that I have watched from time to time, but not that one. The British countryside does look very pretty and actually reminds me of parts of middle Tennessee, where I live.
