Fruits of our labour | The Longest Johns Between the Songs

It's a special time of year around Somerset and Avon. That time of the year when strange red things begin to fall from trees all over the place. This month, the Johns began the process of turning these strange sweet orbs of mystery into one of the finest drinks on the planet. Turning JD's house from a warehouse to a livable home was a challenge but October also saw the building a new merch shed with only a few minor injuries, hurt feelings and ruined tools. A great success!

I really like this series, is a lot of fun to watch. Especially after raging at some particularly difficult calculus homework questions. Not that I know anything about that, being a perfect mathematician. For example, I can tell you that the number of apple you picked are more than 3.

Our daughter and her boyfriend recently bought a house with an orchard and so of course this fall initiated their first cider making and the inevitable fermenting attempt. Not sure she had quite as much fun picking and processing as you fellows did but one can hope. Love the video.

If the word 'demi' means half, then a full Demijohn filled by The Longest Johns would be the equivalent of half the Longest Johns. So, if my maths is correct, the Longest Johns is actually two demijohns of cider masquerading as a shanty band. Come to think of it most shanty bands have usually drank enough that percentage wise they would be classed as alcohol, so this news isn't that shocking. Extra bonus maths: If you want your 4 person band to achieve collective John status, you would need to drink 4.54 pints each. (Assuming a Demijohn is 5 litres and a pint is 550ml)
