Also for newbies please be careful in late summer. The lake gets very rough in the afternoon around 4 pm almost daily and flash thunder storms can happen. So stay close to shore later in the day, and use the morning to do your longer kayak trips.

As a resident of this beautiful area, I would appreciate it if lifestyle channels like this advocated more for tourists taking care of Lake Tahoe. July 5th is the day that we spend ALL day picking up tons and tons of trash that tourists leave behind as a gift for us. Just a thought as you continue to travel around to other precious, tourist overrun areas. Because honestly, we don't want more tourists, especially here.
@TheLoversPassport3 жыл бұрын
Oh definitely agree - we, unfortunately, get the same issues in Santa Barbara where we are based. We even brought a trash bag with us inside our backpacks paddleboarding to pick up trash we paddled past. We post Leave No Trace Guidelines along with every video and consistently throughout our other platforms as well, but we can definitely work on incorporating more of a conversation at the beginning of each video! Thanks for the feedback!

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH PEOPLE VISITING FROM OTHER PLACES….JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE FROM THE AREA DOESNT MEAN IT BELONGS TO YOU & YOU ALONE. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN PEOPLE DONT PICK UP THEIR TRASH AND DESTROY HABITATS. WE ARE FROM TX & HAVE THE SAME ISSUES HERE IN OUR NATIONAL PARKS, BUT INSTEAD OF SAYING NO TOURISTS, WE EDUCATE ON IMPORTANCE OF NOT LITTERING OR NOT BURNING 🔥 ANYTHING. EVERYONE DESERVES TO ENJOY THIS EARTH AS MUCH AS THE NEXT PERSON. ITS JUST SOME PEOPLE NEED A REMINDER OR EDUCATION ON LITTERING AND RULES. STAY BLESSED & ENJOY YOUR HOME ❤

I highly doubt there will be much traffic on a Wednesday morning. Most people from the Central Valley (Sacramento) or the Bay are at work and usually don't come until Friday evening or Saturday morning. Even then it's not too bad, traffic's usually moving pretty good and the drive is beautiful. With some good music and good conversation the time flies by (like most of California). Enjoy your trip! I love Tahoe (we usually camp in the summers and get a cabin every winter).

Just a different perspective for all of you visiting my home: Every community surrounding Tahoe is in such close proximity to the lake itself that most trash left by tourists will end up deposited in the lake by runoff either in its original form, as fine sediment particles, or as microplastics. Sediment pollution contributes to 2/3 of the decline in Tahoe's water clarity, which has been a pressing environmental issue since the 90s. Additionally, Tahoe is home to a TON of wildlife, including bears. They are not a threat to you unless you try to feed them, leave food in an unlocked car, or do not dispose of food properly (in bear boxes ONLY!). As the community continues to develop and climate change continues to intensify winter conditions, bears have increasingly limited food supply and territory and are becoming more prevalent in towns. If you end up getting another bear killed because you were irresponsible or uneducated, then you will have done a disgrace to our community and will no longer be welcome. Please educate yourself and respect our community and the environment. TAHOE IS NOT AN AMUSEMENT PARK AND IF IT'S NOT YOUR HOME, YOU STILL HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT IT. :) be decent please!

I AM GOING TO SPEND THE REST OF THE DAY EDUCATION MYSELF ON HOW TO BETTER PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT WHILE WE ARE VISITING. We canceled the trip because there’s a wildfire nearby it. It causes the air quality becomes unhealthy so we decided to cancel all of the activities and Airbnb..

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about that!

I’m here now for 6 days with no issues. Don’t be scared of wildfire next time you’re definitely missing out! It’s amazing!

They need to pipe all of that lake water to the people's houses and farms and orchards and vineyards and golf courses and swimming pools!!! California's 40 million peole need the water, and they need it now!!!

I dont know if I agree with destroying the lake! We can all do a better job at conserving the water rather than destroying our natural resources!

Bears are active right now! I saw one on my street while walking my dog yesterday morning.
