Hearing people say this kid brought this on himself because he's always in streamers' discords spamming, scamming, and begging them for attention as if that is not, 1, common for kids to seek attention from people they look up to (which happens to be streamers through digital platforms nowadays), and 2, a result of the fucked up circumstances this kid is in and all of the terrible things he has experienced in such a short life. They kept bringing up how the kid was crying to them and saying he felt like unaliving himself and his family needed money on Ak's stream, and the kid felt like he needed to explain why he was crying (which was because he was speaking about his mother to them, and it's a sensitive topic) as if it's a weird thing for a child to cry about losing their mother. It was also unfortunate that YourRage kept reiterating how the boy was "a stupid Malaysian scammer" who is annoying in discords and gets bullied by Malaysian kids (as if it was funny). He was definitely against the shit Ak did and made that VERY clear, but why was it necessary to insult the boy while condemning Akademics' behavior, especially knowing his circumstances?

A lot of them are quite homeless related and have really hard lives. One of them I knew ended up in psychiatry. So, if they are not groomers or pdf I mean, just give them some slack. I never understood how they were seen as cool, but those people probably needed help and were rejected by society, which is so sad. You meet them eventually again if you are related to socio-medical work. Especially if you work in drug addiction. Give them some love, those people have terrible lives (again, not to predators. Keep away from those anyhow if you are not a professionnal). Edit: TIL a lot were groomers or pdf (which, come to think of it, makes perfect sense). That was so interesting. Come to think of it, the girl I got in consult for intravenous drug use years later was the gf of one of them (16, but still). What triggered me to comment was calling them losers (no offense to the person commenting it, I get why he would), because they are from those populations FD talked about years prior in his video about all the young rappers dying (especially the "tentación" guy, I don't remember his name): those people who have met the youth judicial system very young. And will, for most of them, be around social services all their lives. The interesting thing is that colleagues who worked in the youth judiciary system never talked about those "20 y/o dudes", because they deal with them prior, and have so much harsher stories to unload. But since the demographic of this channel is young (great work) and could fall potential victims of it, the main comment is very valid. They are the bad guys in some people's lives. Basically, your mother was right. And those who don't have these support systems are their victims.

When I was maybe 13 or 14, around the time I had my very first girlfriend. I remember sitting in my living room being asked by my uncle how far I had gotten with her. In front of my mom a grown man said a 14 yo girl had a "ghetto booty" and that I should "have fun with jailbait while I can." Didn't think about it for years until I was in my mid twenties and a woman I'm seeing describes her butt the same way and I just have this really awful feeling come over me. Being spoken to in this way as a kid creates a weird combo of shame and anxiety over how you feel about sex. I still feel weird when I don't engage in the weird oversexual conversations dudes wanna have. It's almost not enough to be straight. Some guys want you to be misogynistic and weird with them so they feel better.

It really is both that simple, and insanely complex. The actual, unironic study of real patriarchy (among other social constructs & hierarchial structures) can be very elucidating if you're a real damn man and can get beyond something you had no choice in the matter and study as objectively as you can--it quickly falls down a rabbit hole of many interconnected studies and sciences that lots of "le redpilled" incels, rightoids and Christcuckery have repeatedly attempted to fight even the idea of CONSIDERING to LEARN about something.
@Heykay343 күн бұрын
It’s not that profound. If yall opened your minds up to different conversations( patriarchy/feminism) and not through an awful red pill pov you would understand this is what we mean by men objectifying women. Women are objects of social currency to men, objects are easily discarded aren’t they? and you don’t quite view them as human beings so not much empathy towards women either when you do objectify them. Then you only think of what they can do for you and not a human with full thoughts feelings, emotions and a different perspective. We are easily dismissed by men when objectified, and men literally egg each other on to treat women as objects (patriarchy) one big brotherhood that hurts EVERYONE even the ones clinging desperately to keep it going.
@audiosurfarchive3 күн бұрын
@Heykay34 .. yeah it isn't that profound.. but such ideas are so shockingly under circulated to those who would actually do good by hearing it as such, that it can be a self-deluding oversight to label this as such as being "common knowledge" or "not that profound" when to a lot of people regardless of sex or gender.. it very well could be. But I 100% agree, I'm just interested since given the background as a social worker (and the presumed degree studies of what time that originally comes from therein) I'd be really interesting in Sig's perspective and voice. Plus, it really can't ever be downplayed that while "simple/elementary" some people really just don't internalize things the same way you, or I, do.. and someone like Sig's presentational/structuralism with his style and compassionate rhetoric.. might genuinely help someone. You reaaaasally can't be gentle enough trying to explain this to dumb menfolk who haven't ever realized or thought about the entire social, economic and political paradigm (non exhaustive list) that their existence is based within. What would you in particular wanna hear a full video about, let's say Redpill Deprogramming (as a means of covering this topic and many others that sadly many fall under either knowingly, or unknowingly)?

I'm an ethologist (animal behaviorist). Worked with nonhuman primates my whole career (8 years now). Seeing people try to justify their or others' behavior with "it's natural" always pisses me off. Behavior is extremely malleable. Behavior is learned and reinforced, especially by parents. There's not many behaviors that humans perform outside infancy that can be called 'instinct', and even if there are, it's never as complex as what's being defended by these guys. This is culture. It's training.

i cannot help but wonder if ak lost his virginity as a very young teen or preteen to an adult woman and is now projecting that being cool and normal to everyone else, trying to terraform the world around him into a shape that makes it so that he was not raped. if he admits that what he did and said and endorsed is creepy and rapey and insane, he'd have to acknowledge his own victimhood. he's said things that alude to him being statutorily raped, but hasn't called it by that name or been specific, so obviously i cannot confirm or deny. it excuses nothing, but it explains how someone ends up like this. and it gives a starting point on fixing the broader issue. a child victim who remembers the assult basically has two options: 1. know that you were raped and live with everything that that means emotionally forever, or 2. act, forever, as though what happened to you was normal and okay and not rape actually and everyone does it and c'monnnn, like ak does. people who genuinely adopt the belief that what happened to them was perfectly normal and fine will facilitate or perpetrate these same crimes. they make up a small minority of survivors, but they're crucial to be aware of.

People don’t think grooming is anything but grooming to have a sexual relationship with a child. It can be many different forms. Often times it’s grooming kids to be like those adults who had the same thing happened to them. It’s using money and influence to get a child to act a certain way. And I thought I heard some wild things about that guy AJ before but it’s bad enough he was trying to call another streamer “gay” because he called them out for being weird to this child.

@qoph19884 күн бұрын
Eh... statistically you should still assume that a pubescent kid is having those urges and talk to them about safety and defending themselves. Asexuality presenting in a kid that age might also be an expression of shyness or repression or even trauma. Not to invalidate anyone at all.. but it is a possibility that should be taken into account
@tama31623 күн бұрын
@@qoph1988 yeah, but it typically becomes a problem when the kid expresses that they aren't interested in sex or that they don't get why others are, and it's viewed as something to be "corrected," 9 times outta 10. There's a difference between kids shy about sexual urges and kids who don't have them, and whenever the possibility of a person being asexuality comes up, people usually respond with stuff like "oh, you'll get there," "you just need to find the right guy/girl," or even gross attempts at trying to "fix" it like hitting on them, making advances, etc. Yeah, I sound biased because I was the asexual "shy kid" that got made fun of the moment I said I didn't understand having crushes at around 7 ~ 8, but this still stands.
@Kandosiila-j6m3 күн бұрын
You’re both right and agreeing I think. Just that what I think the other person was trying to say/insert into the convo is that it’s still important to be having these conversations about sexuality and puberty with kids even if you think they may be asexual because you never know what the future holds for them as an outsider to their mind and you want them prepared for whatever may come up. Like not dismissing that they are actually asexual but that that’s not the same as what that kid might end up getting involved in or exposed to regardless and making sure they are informed and in the know as a means to protect themselves. Even if it’s not in your interest it’s not a reason to not be informed or clued in basically. There’s situations where it’s still relevant for them like other people being predatory, or peer pressure, maybe needing to understand/or support a friend through something or the fact that asexuality itself is a spectrum. Someone may be an asexual who does not feel sexual attraction but that doesn’t necessarily mean no interest in sex as an activity. I’m that way I don’t feel compelled or attracted really to other people but am interested and enjoy sex. So when I was young and said I’m asexual that really doesn’t tell someone trying to teach sex ed and safety much about what my relationship to it is so they are still obliged to give them information anyway. Also asexuality is considered a sexuality and puberty is around the time that many end up exploring sexuality for themselves which yes includes asexuality. So navigating the relationships of puberty and sexuality would include that too.

Man, thank you SO much for this video. I'm a CSA survivor, and I've spent the last 20 years of my life processing that and understanding how it all happened in the first place. I used to simply believe some folks were born sick and evil, and they should simply be wiped from the Earth. I still hold that hatred for the man who abused me, specifically, and feel entitled to do so - but overall I'm more interested in preventing predatory behaviour forming WITHIN people before it does any damage at all. When I look at the issue overall, I think about how normalized it is that men count down teenage celebrities' birthdays so they can legally objectify them (and women largely didn't bat an eye at it until recently), I think about how normalized these inappropriate interactions between adults and young boys are, around manhood and rite of passage and performing masculinity via sxual conquest. The sickness, the real evil, it's taught. Boys who suffer from interactions like this kid could very easily turn around when they're grown and repeat the same behaviour - or worse. The man who abused me was abused by an older woman when he was young. Obviously it doesn't always repeat, but it's enough of a worrying trend that we need to be aware of it, and I feel that a lot of men specifically aren't having this conversation. It means a lot to me that somebody who speaks to and educates young men is talking about the root cause of this vicious cycle. Much love FD

I've seen a lot of parents saying that this is inspiring them to talk to their children about grooming online. I'm really happy to hear that. I sincerely recommend showing them the video Chronically online girl explains Drake's creep lore by Nicole Rafiee, she explains grooming and what it is using Drake as an example and you can see parallels to AK's behaviour too, clear as day. Another thing to note is the frog in boiling water. If you put a frog in boiling water, it'll immediately hop out. But if you put a frog in cold water and slowly turn the heat up, it'll sit much longer, sometimes until it's boiled. We teach kids to look out for the boiling water. We need to start teaching them what the heat just slowly being turned up looks like. Small jokes, small throwaway comments, small boundaries breaking - these are the start of grooming. This can happen to children of any gender, and can be done by adults of any gender. A woman can groom a boy or a girl. A man can groom a boy or a girl. It's all about power dynamics. I'm so glad this is getting more attention, parents haven't been given the tools to protect their children for so long. As someone who suffered grooming as a child, I really appreciate everyone not letting this die, do not let this die. Thank you so much. FD is right. This is bigger than AK. He's just the most famous and visible example of this.

I appreciate you bringing up some important social dilemmas: Just because something is normal doesn't mean it's right. Just because something is wrong doesn't mean it's easy to talk about it. Just because it's not easy to discuss topics like these doesn't make the discussion any less important to have.

I have known men who were “active” as children, one as young as 4. These kids had done a lot of mental gymnastics to believe that they had consented to this. Imagine believing a 4 year old can consent to anything like that. Now consider how society is affected by having a bunch of people walking around thinking that kids want this, or can consent. It’s so sad and it makes a lot of sick sense. :(
@Zimx024 күн бұрын
Now of course in the situation of a 4 year old, consensual sexual activity is completely preposterous, but to stigmatize sexuality at a young age based on ill-conceived, patriarchal notions of sexuality is not much different than forcing it, and it is damaging on its own right. Remember, our job is to nurture, protect, and guide, not to force and manipulate. If two legally underage people consent to sexual activity during the pertinent stage of development, are we gonna say that they 'can't consent'? It's important to differentiate that 1) the legal concept of consent, and 2) consent as our on individual wishes, are two separate things. When discussing consent when it comes to the well-being of people, it is the second concept, not the first, that is important. Remember that this is the legal system that incarcerates people for marijuana, gay relationships, and standing up to your oppressors, but allows pharmaceutical companies to murder us, alcohol, fascist military-grooming, and child-bride marriage. Ethics should NEVER be based on the law. Rather the law should be based on the most well-informed, healthy understanding of ethics. The problem is that it mostly never is.

I had a friend who once interrupted a story I was telling about something that happened to me and just said “that’s not funny” from a really genuine place, and it completely threw me and reorganized my whole understanding. (And I’m not a man, just masculine.) It had always been a “listen to this crazy shit a girl did to me!” story. I found out it’s wild what conversations you can have with men (especially) about their introduction to/experience of sex if you say that phrase. We make it this joke how boys are groomed and hurt, and even just going “that’s horrible” to a guy will completely throw him for a loop.

I was training to be a tech in a children's hospital. I was trained not to force or manipulate a limb before the xray was taken, just in case it was broken. A 12 yr old boy and his mother come in. The mother is telling her son to suck it up and be a man yada yada. He couldn't move his leg, when she reached for it to force the leg into the position I needed.... I had to quickly jump in to stop her. I took the picture. His femur was broken in 2 very sharp pieces. The damage she could have done to her own child, all because she didn't want him to be soft. He wasn't even crying .. just mentioned that he was in pain and couldn't move it. I will never forget that.

In case you need to hear it, boys and men are allowed to cry. It's good for you to release stress from your body. My dad was a crier, and I always admired that about him. The first time my now-husband cried in front of me he was deeply ashamed, but it was part of what made me fall in love with him.

I have been screaming about this in my circles for years and will continue to do so. I will never forget hearing my male friends and family members casually and sometimes proudly admit their first sexual encounters being at the hands of older girls or women, sometimes even men. They were little boys. Sometimes as young as 10. And the insistence of it being "different" for boys and girls, and the insistence that boys ought to wear this as a badge of honor, is sickening.

I think the only thing I'd add is that it's incredibly important to address when these attitudes come from family, that it can look different to coming from friends or strangers. Having your father, uncle and grandfather tell you this is how you should look at women and sex can sneak in under the radar and validate those kinds of horrible world views without even raising alarm bells. Great video.
