People need to let go of the idea that dunking or “wining” at the internet actually gets anything done. It’s a waste of time and energy better spent elsewhere: specifically outside.

You can't change anybody else's mind, that's just the illusion of control. The only way to truly warp somebody's value system is to captivate them and set an example for them to follow and lead by. Obviously this works in the opposite dimensions as well, which is how you end up with cult leaders, warlords, religious figures, etc. But it isn't top down, all cults hinge fundamentally on the consent of their followers, that's why it's so frustrating and complicated, it's like trying to talk someone out of a clearly abusive relationship. You'll never be able to reason them out of a situation they did not reason themselves into in the first place But as long as there is that unmet need, a figure will come along to fill the vacuum, which is why we need to not fixate so much on Trump the human being, but address the deeper underlying conditions that necessitate opprotunist vultures like him

I’ve been ignoring interactions with people since trump’s first presidential election and I’ve really been avoiding people since Covid. It’s not a great time but the best option I have to myself and to everyone is to just ignore them and move on with your day the best way you can. I don’t have too much to add, however I do believe there is some evidence to point towards to validate this. That being Bluesky. Back when I moved to Bluesky, there was a moderate exodus of people leaving to the app from Twitter. The amount of people right-wing adjacent who moved to try and bother the same “liberals” (cause everything remotely left is either liberal or communist to them), and “commies” was pretty significant, and despite for years hearing them whine about wanting leftists gone. The moment they got that reality they could not handle it. Making “libs of Bluesky” pages and complaining that Bluesky’s block feature actually works because they can’t get their hate fix. As F.D has said, they require an opponent. If you use that fighting energy to actually do good in the world, helping the marginalized and educating yourself on ways to move yourself away from America’s (and the world’s) conservatism, they will genuinely lose themselves. Side Note: As I was about to post this comment I remembered how a video I saw by the KZbinr Shaun (Skull Pfp with sunglasses in case I got the name wrong) displayed countless times of the right-winger outrage which anyone growing up during that time would remember. The “woke mob gets destroyed by facts” videos that are somehow still popular amongst those people. They really do require attention to sustain themselves.

There's one flaw to that - they NEVER run out of momentum. Every reactionary movement in history has relied on their version of "rage bait" to sustain themselves, and their leaders understand this on a deep level. Hence, whenever they feel that "momentum" slowing, even just a little, they just turn to an endless list of new enemies and conspiracies to keep their base on board. And their base always eats it up because, on a very deep level, they don't want the ride to end either. This is why almost every despot in history has either died in their office or bunker, or had to be dragged out by their teeth. I don't know what to do either. I've been trying to reach out and reconnect with ppl I know who became quasi Trump ppl after they were big supporters of ppl like RFK Jr (they often like Jimmy Dore too). I don't think they're fully on board with Trump, but I don't want to rush in with any big "I told you so" or start bashing RFK or Tulsi, just more trying to 1.) become friendly again and 2.) leaving room for them to see some of the ridiculousness on their own, and giving gentle encouragement when they do. I think the main thing that turns ppl like them off is when they feel like ppl r talking down to them, so I'm just trying to give them something I feel liberals weren't - respect. I hope it helps, because we desperately need to take some wind out of these sails before the ship is completely lost.

Ideas that may seem weird and "too woke" in US, are normal everyday thoughts in Europe, and concepts like "attacking politicians if they don't do the bare minimum, without being k1lled" are real. For example, when there was that flood in Spain, the locals tried to lynch both the governor and the vestigial king when they came to visit, because they correctly blamed them for inaction, and not notifying the locals of the incoming flood. Did any of the californians that had their houses burned down or even the texans that froze their as+es last winter, react in a similar way to their guilty politicians visiting them? There is also the typical "money=superior intellect" that is born of american capitalism, that permeates every aspect of live, and is the base of the worship of power, that is much less present in european cultures.

I don't think it's that he doesn't like one race over the other (he likes anyone with money and who agrees with him and dislikes those that don't more than anything). But the way he was willing to spin that Helicopter crash as potentially a DEI thing (which has an implication of race), knowing it would effect the way people get hired in the future to save himself from whatever the truth is is just really unsavory.

You should read his nieces book: “Too much and never enough” by Mary L Trump. He was raised to never appear as a loser, no matter what. His ego has been fed since childhood at the expense of his older brother, Fred Jr, who was, in my opinion, a light that was constantly dimmed by that family. Mary is his daughter. Leave it to the black sheep’s child to write about the family and how Trump never cared about anyone but himself. Fred Sr was the same and got treated accordingly when he had dementia and Trump (and Robert, the youngest) cast him aside.

My wife who's a federal worker constantly gets harrassing emails from OPM trying to inditidate her and other colleagues to quit along with new policies to make her job and her experience worse Trump is moving the way he wanted to in 2017 but mainstream Republicans in the Administration back then found ways to derail the crazier things he wanted to do. That kind of "dont feed the trolls" mentality is how Germany passed The Enabling Act in 1933 We definitely shoukdnt be getting into online fights with Trumpers or wasting time trying to convince MAGA cultists but part of the reason he got re-elected is that he did so many terrible things that it was easy to forget and hard to keep up with all of it We need to stay aware and vigilant on everything the President of the United States does especially when hes a damn fascist. Working as an audio and robotic camera operator at a news organization in Tampa, covering both local and national stories, has been an eye-opening experience. While the job provides a decent living, I've come to realize that it comes at a cost to my mental well-being and happiness. If I could go back I would have never chosen this line of work. My message to everyone reading this: Turn it off. Walk away. Live your life. I don't have the luxury of looking away from tragedies and political turmoil as much as you do. While staying informed is important, prioritizing your own well-being is even more crucial. Learn guitar. Take dance classes. Become a chess master. Whatever… Disconnect from the constant barrage of news and reconnect with yourself. I hope this very well said video, and my own experience, serve as a reminder that there are options out there. You can create a better life for yourself. Don't wait. Start today.

I disagree bro. The right has their pundits, commentators, and media in lock step. From daily wire, Ben Shapiro, Tim pool, Fox News, daily caller, etc etc. People on the left we need to get organized better media wise. I think you should occasionally talk about what Trump is doing. I think you should run the left talking points. The goal should be to motivate and get people voting.

1.5% in the popular vote is hardly a landslide
@InteristaS56 күн бұрын
It was an electoral college landslide but the popular vote turned out to be a lot closer as time went on. California takes like a month to count votes for whatever reason. On election Day he was protected to win by like 8 million votes which is WILDDD but I think that figure is a lot lower now

My father-in-law told my wife last week that he has no problem with January 6th. A retired LEO calmly said to his daughter that he was ok with it. He said the only people being affected by recent govt actions were people who "don't belong here". We had some suspicions about his real beliefs, but were not prepared for that. You are absolutely correct. These people know what Trump is doing and they like it.

Hi! Great vid as always, I just have a small techical note on this one: the "woosh" sound effects on your pictures were pretty loud and had a really deep sound, exactly like someone breathing to close to a microphone; I spent two full minutes checking if I hadn't a discord call or other sound interference somewhere before realizing it was coming from the sound effects. Have a nice day!
