Halo 3 and Halo reach we’re absolutely incredible back in the day. Those games absolutely defined my childhood (along with Minecraft, LEGO Star Wars tcs, and cod bo2). Also, I highly recommend fallout new Vegas if you’re a fallout 3 fan.

right now I'm 12 and I was just a baby when this game came out. later in 2013 is when I picked up a controller for the first time is when I got to experience the campaign. no multiplayer tho, as we never got xbox live gold, so I just had fun with the campaign. I remember sitting in forge for hours, messing around with everything it had to offer. and I remember playing the mission where you got to fight the scarab. the giant four legged spider like robot. I can see myself now sitting on the couch, playing halo for hours on end. those were the best moments of my childhood. playing video games was where I had the best memories of my life, and most of my life is still ahead of me.

Halo 3 is still my favourite game by far. And I wouldn't even call it nostalgia goggles; I played it waaaaaaay after its release and it was the second Halo game I played (Reach being first.. yeah, I was that late). Now with the MCC I've been playing online with my friend again and it has aged beautifully. It is every bit as fun as it was before. It's honestly a part of my life at this point, a hobby that I'll probably enjoy on and off as long as I live.

I agree with everything you said, except for the forge part. 343 made the best forge to date in halo 5, the addition of scripting was perfect and custom games are amazing in halo 5. The only issue is the lack of a significant player base since it took 343 far too long to add a custom game browser after launch.

I was 5 years old when Halo Combat Evolved came out. It took me a few years of my early youth. But I beat the game. And I remember the day Halo 2 came out. Later my cousin and I stayed up all night to beat the Campaign. It was probably the first time in my life I ever stayed up past midnight. Then Halo 3 came out. That was when I first got Xbox Live. Oh my god the Custom Games. The endless hours of fun. The trash talking. All the cool file share clips and maps. It was unparalleled. I really got to see the beginning and end of an era. I couldn't be more thankful to be a part of it.

Now we have the master chief collection and my brother hates it because it is at as fast paced. So many good memories from playing forge and completing the campaign. (To clarify we didn’t have gold)
