You have great talent to explain all these concepts and make them easy. You covered the whole app and still felt quick. Thank you for making our lives easier, enjoying our devices.

That's what I'm here for! Make sure you register for our Halloween webinar next week, there's going to be a ton of awesome information shared over three separate days. If you haven't registered yet, you can do it here: us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_xzvWYu8ITe-A4-DMcJT9zw#/registration

I thank you guys so much for this information! I learned a ton of stuff, plus learned to appreciate the new features of the Photos app. Now I have to correlate these features to my iMac, since I access all my controls on it, not the phone. My phone is pretty much only used to view photos. A tutorial like this would be nice if it was on the use of Photos on an iMac. Again, thank you so much.

Hello! Thank you very much for this information, in this type of format. It would be great is you guys could put something like this together for the Music app as well. On the iMac of course!

Great suggestion... I love the Music app both on the iPad, the iPhone, and of course on the Mac itself. I have several videos that can walk you through some of the basics that you can check out right now... but I will have Frank add it to our roster for a future live video! Herman from down-under (carer for Alzheimer spouse & others) Top stuff Dylan. Believe it or not but those suffering with dementia still enjoy the ability to deal with this. (Only problem they need regular review and abbreviated format. I do this by using your 'cheat sheet' and modify them as well as documenting salient points from your presentation to suit their needs. Thank you for your valuable contribution to society. I will test on my spouse. Sadly my time zone (East Aussieland) places your presentation at 4 am, I need a 6 am start. If you can do one about two hours or more later you may have greater Aussie attendance.

Hi Dylan! Hello! I am photographing with an iPhone 16 Pro Max, in iOS 18.0.1. I’m getting an error message in the Photos App when editing photos made in Portrait Mode. The app allows me to do the adjustments but it isn’t allowing me to save. It gives an error message. Have you experienced this bug? It wasn’t occurring with my iPhone 15 Pro Max running the last iOS 17 version. I have done several hard resets and the issue is still there. I am experiencing the same issue with my iPad Pro M4, running iPadOS 18.0.1.

Me and my wife have different apple accounts. How do I use Shared Library without me using up all my iCloud space. I have almost 1TB of photos. As I understand it if I shared library that will use up the space on my iCloud. Is the only way around that is to have the same Apple ID account or is there another way. Looking forward to your answer.

I wonder if knows and/or cares about “photogate” 😅 It can also identify car symbols on the dashboard.

I'm sure Apple knows they pissed off a lot of people. I'm also sure that they don't care. It's not the first time Apple has done something that people didn't like. You can go all the way back to Apple getting rid of floppy disks, introducing USB, or getting rid of disk drives. Apple has constantly pushed technology forward, and people have complained because people hate change. In this case, I don't think it's as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. Most people barely knew how to use Photos before. If you take a little bit of time to learn what the new tools are and how to use them, I think this app is even better than it used to be. It's much asier for me to find the specific folders I'm always hunting and looking for, and easier for me to pinpoint or highlight the people, places, and things that matter to me. I can find pictures faster now than ever before.... but I've always been big on keeping my library organized, so that certainly helps. Yes, the visual lookup can identify symbols on car dashboards or symbols on your clothing telling you how to wash your clothes. It can also identify landmarks, different kinds of animals, and works of art amongst other things. I know that's not important for many people, but it's nice that Apple isn't sitting on their laurels and is instead trying their best to move things forward, as they always have.

What infuriates me about Apple photo software is that it will not allow me to delete or even edit photos I've copied to my iPad from my Windows PC! I copied entire folders, expecting to cull later, but that is not possible.
@TheMacWhisperer9 күн бұрын
Seeing that I'm on a Mac computer, I don't really have that issue. But to my understanding, as long as you have imported the photos in the right way, the Photo Library should allow you to completely manage, edit and delete them. How have you imported your photos, and what is the specific issue you're having when trying to edit them from the photos app?

One solution is to install the iCloud Sync tool/extension on your PC and let it synchronize the folders for you. Another option is to upload them directly to the iCloud Photo Website and then manage them from the website and the iPhone. Let me know, I'm sure we can figure out a solution.

@@TheMacWhisperer If I remember correctly, I used iTunes. I just now searched KZbin for how to transfer photos from a PC to an iPad, but all that appeared were videos of how to copy photos from an iPad to a PC. I just selected a photo on my iPad that came from my PC. No option to delete is available, & the message appears, "This photo is not editable. Do you want to duplicate it & edit a copy?" Why would I want to duplicate a blurry photo that I want to delete?
@TheMacWhisperer9 күн бұрын
@@williamlaine2116 yeah, using iTunes is a pretty clunky and ineffective method. Especially now that Apple has discontinued iTunes for PCs. You're better off turning on the iCloud extension for your PC and connecting it to the photos folders you use. This will upload them into iCloud and allow you to edit, delete, organize, and file them without transferring stuff back and forth like you're doing it. You can find more at this link: support.apple.com/en-us/108994 As always, when you are fully in the Apple ecosystem, everything works automatically... but when you are only half in (using a PC or an Android as part of your normal devices)... things are a little more complicated. This should help. This will also allow you to synchronize things like your contacts and calendars and other information automatically, so that you aren't juggling two separate devices. One of the best things about being in the Apple ecosystem is that all of your devices act like the same device. In other words, your phone, iPad, and computer all have the same information shared seamlessly without you doing anything... Unfortunately, working from a PC you don't have that benefit, so you want to synchronize things the right way, rather than making things complicated.
