It looks like Hana is portrayed behind him. I think its more so depicting Hana as the one he tried/failed to save as she's shown being behind him, while everyone in the wings are the ones he was able to save.

I started playing when Tempest came out. I always thought that Gerrard looked like Jonathan Frakes from Star Trek TNG. The new art makes me think Keanu Reeves :D

It looks like Hannah is behind Gerard, watching over him. If you you look very closely, there appears to be two ghostly faces in the area above the "wings." Perhaps they represent Ertai and Crovax, the two members of The Weatherlight crew to go over to the dark side. In the bottom left corner, in the clouds, there appears to be a claw reaching out. Perhaps this represents Yawgmoth?

As an EDH player that started playing before Ice Age, I love this card on so many levels. Story is wonderful. Art is great. And finally a good Boros commander. I also love that it has a commander death trigger that works with the command zone (most other death triggers say that it has to go to the 'yard, not the CZ).

One card that I remember from my childhood was Hatred, I remember it because of how dark the flavor text is “I will flay the skin from your flesh and the flesh from your bones and scrape your bones dry. Please start from Tawnos and Ashnod, than Urza and Kayla(how Kayla sacrificed her own happiness for the greater good), Xantcha and Retepe(mention the artificial vagina made by Urza for Xantcha), Ertai and Belbe, Crovax and Selenia(unrequited love - a most tragic in my opinion) Gerard and Hanna, Serra and Feroz(you already brilliantly covered their love story) etc...

yup nice card. But wasnt Ertai, Saffi eriksdotter and even Crovax on the wetherlight too? At least they travelled together for some time right? For example there is an old Girant strengh card picturing Crovax and Orim. And even way more with Ertai. And Saffi sacreficed herself for Mirri if i recall right.

Nice history vid, could see where you wanted to at least get this started, obviously a lot of lore attatched to everything as for Tahngarth, that weapon is called a Bat'leth. From what I was able to look up it was made originally just for Star Trek Next Gen. as melee weapons for Klingons, but the weapon has gotten enough fame that look alike weapons have popped up every where. I even have a medium sized folding one of my own with a black central handle and a skull engraved into the design.

In the main timeline she fought the vampire Crovax when he betrayed the crew while they where under attack and they both fell overboard. When she realised Gerrard would endanger himself and the ship trying to help her she let Crovax kill her. In the Planar Chaos block alternate timelines startet to sift into Dominaria. In one of them Mirri managed to kill Crovax but was infected by vampirsm and the madness that drove him to the Phyrexian side, finally taking his place as one of Yawgmoths chief officers. Kinda hope there is a third timeline where she got the happy ending she deserved :-(
