I think you hit the nail on the head with these, especially the family appreciation point! I was so disappointed at our first trip to DLP when our daughter was moaning because she was tired and didn't want to watch the fireworks. I don't know why I thought she'd have the energy to do a full day when she wouldn't at home. The good news is that it has prepared me for our WDW holiday and I have adjusted expectations of me and my family.

It can be tough because we build up these vacation so much, especially when we don't get to travel there often. I think this is an easy trap to fall into - I know we have in the past. Thanks so much for watching!

I always make line-buddies in line because people are generally in a good mood, but… you’re right… I have mistakenly misread “the room” annoyed the poop out of people trying to be friendly. *BE NICE TO CAST MEMBERS!!*

Yeah, I think most people are in a pretty good mood, but I’ve also heard people being pretty grumpy. I just try to avoid them.

Great points. My husband always asks me "why are so many people frowning" when we are at WDW. I think it is all the reasons you mentioned. Especially being hot and tired. I am so glad to be a DVC member so i can plan for half days at the parks, afternoons relaxing by the pools and then evenings watching fireworks. I dont mind cooking a little, but i do like to go to my favorite restaurants while we are there. I only schedule one sit down mean a day to prevent getting too busy a schedule. Love the Lattes with Mickey drawn on top.

Agreed. We never schedule multiple table service meals in one day. Thanks for watching! Best wishes! 👋

One very important thing I learned on my last trip: Don't underestimate the "jet lag" factor if you are coming in from another time zone, especially if you have young children. We flew to WDW from the west coast, arrived at our hotel in the evening about 7:45pm, and even though we all slept well through the night, we were still a bit tired the next day, and the 4 year old we brought with us was asleep in the stroller for over 6 hours trying to acclimate and hardly saw anything that first day visit. You might expect that your excitement will have you roaring to go as soon as you arrive, but the reality is your mind and body will likely need a little time for the time zone adjustment.

Yeah, that’s a good point. We are usually pretty tired the first day, but our clocks usually seem to reset by day 2.

Define “Do it all” if you mean doing it all in the parks not only is it possible but we do everything in the parks every time we go. Now if you’re including things at resorts and outside of the park then I would say it’s very unlikely to “do it all.” However if you plan it well and you’re there at rope drop you can do everything in the parks. Everything else I completely agree with. Especially the lack of relaxation. We decided to buy a DVC contract and add an extra week to our stay in order to actually have time relax.

When I say “do it all”, I’m not just talking about each ride. There’s SO much to see and experience at Disney. Even with 2 week long trips, we can’t see every show, ride every ride, visit every shop/exhibit or eat every snack/dine at all the restaurants. We definitely take a slower pace in the years since we became DVC members. It’s been a lot of fun!

@@TheMagicInTheMusic Yea I can see that. Especially with the shops & restaurants. Disney had become our Thanksgiving tradition but we had to move it to the summer because we needed the extra time. We would get home and be exhausted because we never actually took time to rest.

The three things I can’t stress enough on having a good Disney trip are bringing comfortable shoes blisters will mess the trip up. Second would be stay hydrated drink a lot of water with electrolytes not the Dasani water they sale in the parks. Lastly drink alcohol moderately this is what I’ve seen really spoil a trip. It’s hot it’s crowded and being inebriated in that environment is not a good mix.

Hi,I was wondering what the 2042 expiration dates mean for people who own contracts that expire after that date. Will I be able to use points to book a villa at beach club in 2043?
@TheMagicInTheMusic
@TheMagicInTheMusic Жыл бұрын
If you own at a resort that expires in 2042, your contract will expire and you won't have anything left to use. If you own a a resort that has a later expiration date, you'll still have your points, but you wouldn't be able to book at the expired resorts anymore. We don't know yet what Disney will do with those expired resorts. New DVC contracts? Renovate and turn into new resorts? Nobody knows yet.
