I like these cars. I used to have a 2007 Infiniti G35 coupe which is basically like the luxury version of your car. Nissan owns Infiniti anyhow. Nissans and Infiniti are good cars. Currently I have a Lexus IS250 and that’s a good car too but I miss the more sporty aspect of my old G35. Your car is certainly sporty as well.

I've had my 2011 Altima coupe 3.5 SR for about seven years. I bought it used for $23K and it had about 30K miles on it. I got this car because of how it looks; just about the prettiest body style I've ever seen. I did my daily commute in this car for six years and put on about 80K miles. My commute was in the early hours of the morning when the interstate is empty, may times I hit 130 mph just for the heck of it! The car corners like it's on rails and I can really throw it around without loosing control. I love this car! The first year I had it I burned off a set of expensive Michelin tires doing fast starts and hard turns. I have now slowed down a bunch to save the rubber. The only thing I have replaced is tires and 1 battery - no repairs! It is hard to get in and out and visibility when making laine changes is difficult due to poor visibility - all coupes are like that. I have debadged the car and people come up to me and ask what kind of car I'm driving and tell me how cool it looks. I'm very happy with my Altima Coupe and plan to keep it for many more years.

I love your testimony. My coupe has actually just reached the end of it's life. Bought it as it's second owner around 80k miles, road it hard for 20k miles. Did 3 expensive repairs including getting a new clutch and had some fun with it for the next 65-70k or so miles trouble free including some fun at the drag strip. Last weekend the coupe got flooded in Fort Lauderdale. It was so bad the towing company couldn't pull it out the hole it was stuck in until the water cleared. It was too muddy The water rose overnight as well.... Nothin' you could do about it 😥 Obviously I'll need to make an update video at some point, but I guess I'm still reminiscing on the good times. Dashboard issue not just coupes but sedans. Mine literally melted. Along with shifter knob. Oh and all rubber under hood is so brittle. Lol I got a laundry list for these cars but one thing that keeps me driving it is exactly that. The damn car keeps running. It seems they focused more on reliability than functionality and form.

And since you mention it... that dashboard reflection is also another reason to get a dash mat, even if it's not sticky yet. I remember a few close calls because of that.

I live in a snowy area, Mountain PA. So the fact that it’s FWD is a good thing for me. If it didn’t snow here I’d 100% go for a mustang but sadly that isn’t the case. Actually the 2007+ Altima comes with the VQ35DE Gen 2 engine, with HR heads and the engine is revised a bit. That engine is more capable than the Gen 1 VQ35DE and so it can handle more boost.

@@superdude7459 yes, 2007+ Altima has the 6 speed manual option and it comes in a coupe. The VQ35HR also came in the Sedan G35 6 speed and 350z

Speaking facts about the coupe. For me it just I don't like the fact tranny a CVT then I don't like the FWD. I have the 2013 coupe 2.5... I wish we can do so much more to the engine but we are very unlimited on that. I live in Las Vegas omg man. The heat fuck up ur car regardless wat u have on the dashboards. Over all I still love my car and I'm so more stuff to it until I get my 2002 S15 or a SC400

Yes that seems to be a repeating theme when it comes to the coupe. Everything is limited but that is also by design unfortunately. They had the right idea for a 2 door 4 seater... they gave it a peppy torque-focused V6 (which was unheard of at the time) and made the curb weight very light for a 4 seater. But they made it too focused around normal people and the enthusiast doesn't get much room to enjoy the car. I'm 100% certain RWD was the make/break point between this car being much more popular than it was at launch.

I had to buy a Nissan Altima coupe V6 because it snows a lot in my state and I had to have a front wheel drive car and my favorite cars were Nissan 350Z and G37S so this is the closest thing in front wheel drive.

Yes. In the video, what I was saying was that the engine in the Altima compared to the HQ35 in the 350/370 lineup has less boost potential. I didn't mean to imply that it wasnt a NA setup, I mean the Altima can't take as much boost as the higher revving engine because it's internals are weaker. So you are more likely to detonate the engine if you don't build it stronger compared to the HQ35/37 which has better internals

Relatable 😂 You will find that it provides a very niche experience. Torque for days in a light frame = fun off the light acceleration. But depending on how much of a goon you are when driving the challenger, you may find the FWD a 100% buzzkill

To be completely honest with you, if you're not getting a manual shifting car, stay away from the Altima coupe. I never have and never will endorse the CVT technology from Nissan. The 4-cylinder Altima's are VERY weak compared to to other 4 cylinder cars that were produced around that time as well. Now-a-days it's rare to find a coupe under 40,000 miles. The CVT starts having problems between 70-90,000 miles so it's never a good idea to buy a used car with a CVT transmission. Basically if you're not getting the 6-spd V6 Altima, go with another car LOL

Honestly, I've got no clue. I've never heard of any car/motorcycle with that problem. You may have some luck with a good forum search. If you can't find coupe forums, perhaps another nissan vehicle might share the same fuel system as the Altima coupe

Which gas type you using for you car Jellybean?

Mainly, I use 91/93 octane (as recommended for performance) But if I just want a couple gallons to make it home or need to save money for long road trips I may step down to 89 or at worst the cheap 87 gas I try to use the highest level gas possible because the cheap gas is worse for your engine maintenance wise. 91/93 is always cleaner and I believe it's worth the extra expense if you want to keep your car long term which I hope to do for the channel (unless I financially can't support it)

It shows in your video and in your comments. 93 octane and 87 use the same detergents, so they burn equally clean. 93 does not give extra power unless the vehicle is tuned for flex fuel, which these are. 93 octane just means the fuel is harder to burn, preventing predetonation for higher compression/boost levels.

@@cheeko_914 You missed the context of what I was speaking. I understand that using higher octane gas does not give you extra HP. I understand that tuning is required to make the most out of certain fuel. That's why e85 requires tuning for it to be effective. If that were put in context, then I can assume that 91/93 requires tuning. As for gas quality. I've never been inside a gas container that sits under a gas station. A conspiracist would say they are all the same octane. The point is, if this detail were true, then 93 octane does perform better than 87. But not for HP. It performs better on a scale of wear and tear. Cleaner fuel means cleaner engine which means longer life which is better performance. Before you assume the context of what I am saying, you should just ask. I only said better performance because that is what is literally on my gas tank, but I'm not dumb enough to believe I get better quarter mile times when my car is not tuned for a higher octane. Yep! One thing I forgot to add in the video (which I wrote down when brainstorming) was the terrible thought put into the engineering design. Every car I've ever worked on always has an engine drain bolt and the filter is usually somewhere next to it. Why is it the oil filter is facing sideways behind the right wheel? You can take it off without removing the rim, but that is a difficult task if you use a normal oil wrench and not an oil cap screw with a 3/8 drive wrench. Why is the alternator deep inside the engine bay? The AC and radiator have to come off to properly take it out (according to the official repair manuals it's a 4 hour job to replace it) Little things like that are also what make the coupe a grief to own just from a quality of life standpoint. The one thing I appreciate about the coupe is that even though everything else tends to break... I've never had problems with the engine. If Nissan had the build quality of Toyota and made it a RWD platform... this would have been a legendary model.

Seriously! It would be so much better if it was RWD. The engine is fine but if the HR was under the hood with a similar driveline to the 370, it would be unstoppable. Also, I would love to change my own oil, but it’s so complicated to just get the oil filter off that I’d rather just take it somewhere. It would almost be like a more-affordable 370Z with actual back seats😂

@@parzinirani7297 sun visor common in nissan, leaks whenever it rains. Leaves puddle behind drivers seat. No clue where it's coming from. It's been to the dealership twice for a entire day each time and they can't find the leak. Window switch went bad drivers side over $200 for part. Found it at junk yard for $100, but the part was bad. Went through 3 switches before I got one that worked. The month before replaced radiator $900+. A week after the window Tie rod, bearings $1,500. Now the brakes are starting to squeak. I take care of my care, but it's not worth it anymore

@@sunshyne8181 Same issue. Fixed when all four sunroof drains were unclogged. (Search KZbin, some good vids out there) Weed trimer cord worked pretty good but one was clogged so bad I have to loosen the tube where it goes through into wheel well and remove the transition fixture's center plastic piece that the dirt had cemented around. BTW I agree with the poster, Nissan's plastic dashes are trashed down south with the heat. Not only Altimas but other Nissan models as well. I wish a third party would make replacements with a time and heat resistant proven plastic. Other manufacturers do not have this serious problem.
