@kpNov23 I'm also a troll, but we all care about Ding. He's a dazzling player in form, and disarmingly humble off the board. There's everything to like and nothing to dislike about him. To overlook something a 1450 should feel ashamed to miss, means something very real mental health-wise is going on with him. You can see it in his incessant fidgeting, that he at least has something like moderate anxiety going on, possibly more ofc. I troll highfalutin idiots, lazy communicators, zealous myopia, the uncaring, and harmfully misguided. I don't kick heroes in a hole. I imagine OP feels likewise, so I'm not sure what you're referring to.

I like how Fabiano beat the computer and proved it wrong. Coming brand new to the game itself and just owning every move and beating the computer is OG stuff

Haha yeah I agree. The CPU is always weird and I have to remind myself that the computer evaluates the position AS THOUGH they are always going to find the best move in response. But even Magnus is a mere mortal and it doesnt always work that way. I wish they would show the eval AFTER the match instead of during.

This is just painful at this point. We're watching a player who was the clear World nr 2 for years collapse at an unprecedented rate. I guess the only thing similar was Fabis drop, but he didn't miss mates in two like this. I'm just 2200 and I saw that mate from a mile away, for a player of Ding's caliber to make that mistake ther has to be something incredibly wrong. I am more and more concerned about him not playing the match at this point. It might very well be the best for him and in that case I would urge him to make that decision. But if I've understood correctly Ding stepping down would mean that Nakamura will get the spot despite being tied with Caruana and Nepo, which just makes a mockery of the entire process. They should obviously play tie-breaks for the 2nd spot since that is the rule for the 1st. Just giving it to one of them screams "we didn't think these rules through properly and now we have to deal with some idiotic solution we wrote down because we never thought this problem would actually arise". With the absurdities Fide has been pulling lately it is becoming more and more clear why Magnus didn't want to deal with the idiocy anymore.

Fide didn't forget they just think SB is good enough then making player play more chess. Remember a current concern many have raised about the Candidates is the high number of games the eventual WCC has to play which puts them at a huge disadvantage. Second, players are able to stats concerns and make requests of FIDE to change format, no one brought up the tie-breaker concern publicly.

@@PeterM8987He's referring to circa Sep '22 when Fabi dropped to ~2758. When you're coming from a peak of 2844, and frequently 2800+, a 50pt drop is a legitimate slump. Kramnik fell into a similar hole after hovering around 2770-2800+ forever, dropping to sub-2740 at one point. You're telling a national master-strength player who knows his elite chess to "get their head read," but OP is right, and you're wrong. For you of poor chess skill, and complete ignorance on the subject, to blast someone like OP, you're not even a troll, we just feel sorry for you.

@@deeeeeepshe has been struggeling with mental health after his wcc win. Than he didn't play chess in a year and all the tournaments after want terrible. My guess is he has a mental block right now
