This is my annual collection of my favorite great white shark moments filmed with my drone over the course of this year. Included are some scenes I've never shared anywhere before, but made my top moments of the year countdown. All captured from above in 4K along the coast of Southern and Central California.

Glad I could help. Yes, sharks, no matter what size, in my observations, are "indifferent" to humans. That doesn't mean they can't be dangerous, but it takes a bit of rationality and nuance to understand them. Thanks for commenting!

Your channel is fascinating. My son has autism and not only is he in love with what you do, your voice always has his rapt attention. My husband agrees- you're not only doing a service to the science and education of sharks, you're helping a young boy with social difficulties learn that he can interact with his world in a different way. He put his Christmas money away to start saving for a drone. Hes a little scientist himself. He said, "mommy, the person (you) is interacting without having to worry about all the social ques I have a hard time understanding. Maybe I can do something like this!" My heart melted and right now, Im doing my best not to cry . It never crossed my mind that your drone videos of sharks could positively impact a kid so much. ❤️ Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Yeah I agree 100% with you. it’s nice to not see those monsters on film killing everything in sight for once. Hard to get footage of them without them attacking surfers and other beach goers. Although they did a good job, they still couldn’t show them not ripping apart that little stingray and attacking another shark. What freaking terrorizing monsters these things are. Always attacking and ripping things apart, even kelp or birds. Straight psycopaths. I think we all agree and support shark fishing. Especially great whites. Makes me feel safer that there are less monsters terrorizing everything out there.

@@mylifefornickI can understand that partially, because humans are fascinated by the strength and speed of predators since the stoneage. So the TV does what gives them the views. Where it becomes problematic is when the sharks are just depicted as mindless killers instead of explaining how the encounter could have happened and how to avoid something like this in the future.

@hatzistu Exactly, these people are crazy. Sharks don't attack people. There are misidentification and curious test bites rarely, but it's accidental. Great whites are pretty much big puppy dogs of the sea and Malibu artist has proven it. There has never been a case of a great white or any shark just scoping out a human, attacking that human and then predating that human. Unfortunately, a lot of people are bite from a mistake but then they pass away because the shark has such a powerful bite. If you are in decently clear water and it's easy to tell you're not a seal you will never be accidentally bitten. Ocean Ramsey has shown that and you can even get up close and pet huge Great White sharks. Zero danger if the water is clear.

Go read about the poor unfortunate soul who was violently killed by one of these sharks a couple of days ago. It's gruesome and disgusting. Sharks are portrayed as monsters because they are monsters. At least we have Orcas out there to trim down the shark population. One human life is worth more than every single great white shark on the planet.

In early November, I was swimming with a friend about 300 meters offshore at Del Mar, California. A young white shark bumped my friend and then bit her in the thigh. The bite was not life threatening, but the puncture wounds were deep (up to 4 cm) and a couple were quite close to her femoral artery - it could have easily been much worse. I appreciate your excellent videos; I had watched them before this encounter, and I continue to do so. By showing these videos you show the whole picture - sharks in their environment. Your videos help destigmatize the white shark from its image of simply one of viciousness and horror. This is good. These sharks are an important part of healthy oceans, and they need to be respected as such. With regard to your videos of young white sharks near humans in the water, these help dispel the myth that sharks will invariably attack, and again help put this shark in a more appropriate context. However, we need to be aware that white sharks don’t have to be in attack mode to be dangerous to humans in the water. We don’t know why we were apparently ambushed and my swim buddy was bitten, but it may not have been due to aggressive behavior. It could have been defensive behavior (perhaps we were just too close - the water was murky, so we didn’t see the shark until it made its presence known). Or it could have been curiosity: many animals, especially young animals, investigate their surroundings by using their mouth; even children do this, and yet they are equipped with sensitive hands. In some of your videos, as you have noted, it appears that a white shark might just have been checking something out (such as floating trash) - with a bite.

This is, hands down, the best video of sharks I have seen this year. The footage is incredible. This shows their beauty and how serene and graceful they really are. Just to watch them playing. They're not the mindless killing machines that they have been made out to be. They can control how hard they bite. They just want us to leave their home and space. People need to respect them.

@@pepedeltoro6647 yes, bears kill people too. so do mountain lions, and wolves. Hippos kill people too, and alligators. Did you know Zebras are one of the most deadly zoo animals? Elephants kill people too. But you know what kills more people than all of those combined? other humans. Heck even car accidents kill more people. But you take those chances every single day. You're more likely to die of a natural disaster than a shark. But teeth are scary, the idea of being food for something else is irrationally terrifying, i get it. But talking about the odds while taking far higher risks many times over every single day is not logical.
@samimoring1235

logical? odds? wild animals? natural disasters? I dont live in Africa or swim in the ocean..so. my odds are logistically 0% of anytime of attack. i also dont live near any natural disaster areas, so thats another 0%..I'm not the only 1 either, so, statically speaking, none of that makes 0sense. before, I replied I tried looked up dying by a natural disaster to dying by a shark attack.. that is a ridiculous comparison 😂, there's nothing comparing the 2. I won't even get into the details of that 😂 it makes 0sense.

The views that the inception of drones has allowed us is nothing short of absolutely incredible. And not just over the seas. It’s allowed us to see things like african painted dog hunt’s where usually we could only see parts of the hunts as they often cover great distances but with drones we can see the whole hunt from start to finish from the air. I spent a lot of time on Lanzarote (Canary Islands). I'm not a diving guy, but had the pleasure to meet with sraks two times. Once on Fuerteventure - went to the beach, but it was closed due to smaller sharks (probably young blue sharks) coming to the shore. I took a few pictures, they were about 100-120 cm long and 3-4 meters away from me. The second time was even more fascinating as it was the first time a rented a smaller boat to sail the waters alone. Got a tip about a place where dolphins are spotted fairly often but instead of dolphins I managed to see a whale shark near the surface. After that I visited a fish farm where I spotted a larger shark - either a great white or a tiger, the size would fit them booth but it seemed it had a few faint stripes. Fun fact: a friend of mine bought her first villa there in the 90s and spent a feew weeks or months a year there. She swam everywhere, got in the water everywhere. Never knew that there are sharks near the islands, she was terrified when I told her about the closed beach :D

So beautiful. My father taught me to appreciate all creatures, including predators…unusual in the 50s and 60s where sharks are concerned. When he fished he always had a very long rope for the fish he caught. He told me that he did it for his safety and to prevent a shark hunt, which on the Gulf Coast always meant a frenzy of shark killing.
