When I did Lake Alice early last year,we walked from the gate, through the bamboo forest up to the lake. Part of our group got lost and found themselves at lake Rutundu while the rest of us found ourselves at lake Alice. We walked the entire day to and fro. At some point we had to get bodas after it got dark while in the forest.

What is this about Pajeros that we don't know, I really fear them but I can see you guys use them alot
@TheMaraNomads1920MN Жыл бұрын
They are awesome 4x4s. This is our 3rd. It has had alternator issues before and only on that trip. Its not a common issue. Its because we are making it work harder due to the very many gadgets and power consuming appliances. So diodes keep burning out. A 250Amp high output alternator would be nice but there is none for diesel engines only petrol engines. The one on the car is 125Amp. Sufficient for most people but not us.

Seems this pajeros have a problem with over heating
@TheMaraNomads1920MN Жыл бұрын
That was an alternator problem, not overheating. Age and heavy modification will make make any 4x4 a bit unreliable. In this instance, the Pajero has been heavily modified outside its factory condition thereby putting many demands on the alternator and making the diodes overwork which will make them break dwn. A factory alternator generates 120 amps of power, but if you have alot of electrical items that were not originally in the car, then the alternator will be overworked and will fail. A solution is to upgrade to a higher output alternator that churns about 225 to 250 amps, almost double that of factory alternator. This is a whole discussion that needs an entire video to explain to guys. Thank you for watching Tony.
