I recently did a 320i, changed the plugs and coils packs (they disintegrated when removing). I put plugs in with a straight 14mm spark plug socket, it was tight because they are angled at bottom of tube. Unbeknown to me, it must have damaged insulator of the plugs. I was chasing this fault for ages, swapping plugs and coils as that was all I changed for problem to arise. I then read that you need to fit plugs with a wobble socket. I put new set of plugs in with wobble socket and voila, cured and ran like a dream. What a ball ache. Perhaps your customer has done the same? Cost me new set of plugs, a couple of coils and a whole lot of time before I got there. Worth a look.

I think you got a duff van. The platform for that van is used on a lot of motor homes all over Europe. I used to drive a fleet of them and loved them after previously driving a fleet of vws. The Fiats were far more reliable, the VWs were like tractors and always got faulty sensors. At 65 I have had many many cars all of different brands except luxury ones. I like French Cars although the newest one I have has is 2007😂. Had a berlingo petrol for 8 yrs 95k in that time not a single fault other than my servicing. My dad was a garage owner and was a firm Citroen/peugeot fan but was in the 60s and 70s. When I watch you sort these electrical problems and I compare how my dad taught me to service my cars … wow I need to stick with old crap. Just the bloody road tax £320 for 5000 miles a year! I hope the van behaves. Great vlog

I had the same belief as you until a few years ago. I bought a Peugeot 207 from the Auction. It had only 57k on the clock. The first thing I noticed was the clutch had gone. I sorted the car out, and now it's done 150k on the clock. It is used as a workhorse and I have colleagues, who own German cars, like VW Golfs. This car has been more reliable than all of their cars put together. Why? Service it on time, put the right parts into it, since these days there are a lot of good quality parts available to choose from. But even within the car itself, you see it shares parts from companies such as Denso, a company owned by Toyota. The electrics have been good on the car, especially for a 15 year old car. By the way, in terms of the dashboard, it is produced by Faurecia. They produce the interiors for German manufacturers, but are owned by Peugeot. So, in reality, unless a car manufacturer isn't able to obtain car parts from outsourcing, due to say sanctions, with manufacturers such as Iran Khodro, then a car tends to be built upon many different companies and the badge is just a badge of where it was assembled.
@Leehuss55826 ай бұрын

@@Leehuss5582 even me, I don't buy cheap parts for my car or any vehicles I've driven. It saves you money in the long run. Any car can be made reliable. For example, I'm not a rover fan, because of the K Series engine. It was renowned for it's head gaskets issues. But they figured out issue with it. It was simply replacing it with a triple layered gasket, now it is a very reliable engine.

New van time soon! Just lease one for now? The lease payments are a fully tax-deductible expense, as is the VAT if applicable, also on service and maintenance packages. No depreciation to worry about, less worry of breaking down, no resale value to worry about, no time lost to repairs like this in most cases. Honestly I’m an “own it or don’t have it” kind of person to a degree anyway, but leasing has worked out great for our business. It’s been hassle free, whereas our fleet before was nothing but problems, like this, in turn losing us a lot of money.
