But if u take an ultramarine suplément, you can't play the blood raven trait anymore? U can't remplace ur "CHAPTER" keyword by "BLOOD RAVEN3 so u can't have the two funny-tier chapter rules + u can't have a Gabriel angelos, right?

Based on the current SM Codex FAQ (ctrl F for chapter tactics) Blood Ravens are supposed to use the Successor Chapter Tactics rules on pg 176 of the codex. Battlescribe also permits the use of successor rules in combination with Blood Ravens Chapter Selection. Hope that helps.

@@WhatThe40k hey I've made a lot of research First, all sm rules existed before the v2 codex sm doesn't exist anymore. So blood raven, and also crimson fist, can't use the white dwarf rules. That's mean that we don't have rules for blood raven anymore. And that's great. Why? Because now we have to use it like a custom chapter. As a custom chapter with original legion unknow, we're able to take the "ineritage of the primarch" chapter rule, that alow us to take the rules from any legion. And only because we taked this trait we can use the codex supplement from our choice while keeping the Blood Raven keyword to take Gabriel angelos. (thing that we wasn't able to do with white dwarf rules cauz' they hadn't ineritage of primarch rule.) Talking about Gabriel Angelo's, there's a faq adding "angel of death" to all forgeword sm models (excluding Grey knight) Because an every unit of the army must have AoD rule to use the tactical doctrines, Gabriel Angelo's doesn't broke the rules anymore. I didn't find this fac. I've seen people talking about it, I've seen screenshoot of the fac, but not able to find the faq. BTW I think I gonna use raven guard supplement. Their playstyle fit to the Dow2 gameplay (come, find the leader, kill him.) and their psychic power are great. Thanks for the list BTW, u gave me some idea, and everything

Excellent video as always. I was, at first, concerned that the ultramarine book would have watered down the list and made it generic, but that heavy dip in psykers and stratagem/relic combination really turned the list for me. Good thinking as always, hoping to see more of these in the future! Keep up the great work :)

I had the same apprehension, but I figured from a supplement POV the generic-ness of the Ultras would be better than the well defined other options. That being said it turned out to be far more cerebral than I thought it would, which in my mind is great for the ol Blood Ravens.

Formation Bonus; "Aquire For The Chapter" Any Blood Ravens unit that fells a character, special unit, or any unit equiped with wargear may..."aquire" that wargear for themselves and use it as if it was their own as long as it is compatible with their own ruleset.

This is awesome, thank you! I am just coming back to 40k after missing 8th and now there is 9th. It would be great to revisit this with 9th. Would you take the same build or make any changes?

I probably would. 9th edition really punishes you for taking multiple detachments. So unless there is something super powerful, or fluffy to justify it, I would consider going with a single detachment. Maybe Angelos +2 libbys. I think in 9th Angelos would also benefit from some melee support, Blade guard vets or assault terminators could serve well and look good alongside him. To that end, it might be worth considering making 1 of the troop choices an assault intercessor squad as well. Maybe assault plasma incinerators for hellblasters. Repulsors could also be dropped for some dreadnoughts (your choice) which are just able to take better advantage of 9th editions changes to the game.

I went with salamander instead because I want Gabriel Angelos to have +2 strength with Godsplitter. everything else I copied off of your list thank you for making a blood ravens list except the librarian in terminator armor is pulling from the Promethean discipline which is fire shield and drake skin. Again thank you for the list and giving me an idea of what need to be in my list

Back in 7th edition, I ran a "Blood Ravens" army under Dark Angels. Why? Because of the Librarian formation that made DA Librarians beastly. At one point it was exclusive to DA only.

I actually have some experience fielding the Custodes, so creating a list for them shouldn't be that hard. But I think I would break my non soup rule, as I would want to have the Sisters of Silence with them. I've always felt that codex should have been Talons of the Emperor anyways, with the Sisters not disabling the Custodes keyword benefits.

@@recruit_isfake The Carcharadons are kind of a mid ground of the Space Wolves and Raven Guard. They prefer CC and are as violent as the Wolves, but do so without any battle cries or vocalization(most turn off their helmet speakers), and their tactics are either hit and run, or just wade in... so if you can't decide between wolves or ravens, play sharks! (Their colors are kind of in between too lol)

Idk if its thematic bu my list im building of salamanders is Battalion Adrax hq:140 Chaplin in terminator hq :92 2 infiltraiton squads of 5 :220 1 10 man tactical 1flamer 21 1 lascannon 38 8 tacts :163 Total:475 Vangaurd 1 librarian in phobos 108 3 invicotr 358 Total:464 Vangaurd Vulkun 135 1 squad of 5 flame agressors: 180 2 squads of 5 sterngaurd 2 armed with heavy flamers rest with bolter flamers 232 Total:412 Stormraven gunship with hurricane bolters,twin lasscannon,typhoon missle launcher Total 290 Repulsor armed with heavy onslaught cannon,twin lasscannon,onslaught cannon,icarus rocket pod,2 storm bolters and 2 fragstrom grenade launchers Total:289 Cp 6 I think its a good in your face list ive got and has alot of flame weapons to just melt all enimes in fire and is a very fast attak squad and u either deal with the stormraven and the 9 sterngaurd with vulkan getting re rolls on flame weapons and re role 1s then the repulsor bringing alot of dakka plus agressors to wipe squads especially with the stratagems that make u fire max flame weapond plut the one to turn flame weapons into pistols in melee and the dreads and phobos will block the middle and push and the tacs will go to objecrives im rhinking of adding a rino for them but idk

Seems pretty thematic to me. Lots o' fire! The biggest challenge I face fielding my Salamanders is the 1-2 turn 'walk' to get into effective range. But I think those 3 Invictors in your list are a great distraction carnifex style unit to draw enemy attention.

@@WhatThe40k i wanted it to be where theres 3 main issues for the opponent 1 being the dreads being in close proximity and having good amout of weapons each olus the litt reinforcment of the phobos stuff and the librarian to add strength to em the the repulsor blasting out lots of dakka and having the main smash hitters comming in then the gunship to go and destroy and drop near the back the crew or on key objectives cause the long movment

Funnily enough the Raptors are a chapter I have my eye on starting, although it probably won't be in the near future. I am a pretty big MGS fan ..... ! So I have given the idea of a raptors list some thought. What I had in mind is somewhat different than the Raven Guard list I made previously. For starters I would get rid of the jump pack units, and because of my thematic restrictions I focused on lots of infiltrate, units which can shoot characters, and an airwing with 2 storm talons and a storm raven.

Sorry for the late response, the newer youtube studio makes it harder to catch responses to ongoing convos.... To answer your question, its not for download. Mainly due to the required manual input of the data, makes it rather cumbersome, so it remains a tool to enhance videos. Thanks for the inquiry though.
