Eminem’s run is so interesting because it spans multiple generations of listeners.
@rockking13795 жыл бұрын
C Mitchell you know that is something I didn’t even realize. Not only has he spanned multiple generations of listeners but multiple generations of technology.
@s.a.c-80055 жыл бұрын
@C Mitchell haters will try to call you a stan just because you are stating facts. You always read some weird comments like "washed up" or "fell off" or "his music didnt age well" ; and when you argue with them and present them with those facts, they will straight call you a stan or numbers dont mean nothing and hide behind opinions and judgments. Eminem touched on different generations and different eras of technology, he has the larget fanbase and the most diversified internationally and has many classics under his belt, he also inspired many cats in the game and brought millions of new listeners, which had elevated the profits for the whole rap scene (I am not saying he is the only one who elevated profits btw). If all of that doesnt qualify for GOAT status, then I dont know what does!
@s.a.c-80055 жыл бұрын
@C Mitchell straight facts! I had the same conversation with one dude who was asking what does make Eminem the best if he is not the best at certain field? I told him Em is one of the best, if not the best in all of the rap fields. Storytelling you could name Nas, metaphors and wordplay you could name Lupe Fiasco, punchlines you could name Jadakiss, motivational songs you could name Tupac, multisyllable rhymings you could name Rakim, diss songs you could name some. But you will never name one rapper who is a master at all of these fields beside Em, and who also has the numbers and influence to back it up. And now their famous content debate! They always hide behind it to discredit Eminem. If I had, Rock bottom, the way I am, Stan, till I collapse, soldier, hailies song, sing for the moment, like toy soldiers, mockingbird, when I am gone, no apologies, lose yourself, 8 mile, beautiful, be careful what you wish for, deja vu, not afraid, going through changes, 25 to life, bad guy, the monster (which a lot of people overlook because it has a pop feature), Survival, Legacy, walk on water, castle and arose, stepping stones and many others; that is content! What do you want him to do? Give you religious preaching or write the bible or something?

So true, 20 year olds who were his fans when he first came out are 40 somethings now, and still fans. And people born during or after his initial run are 20 somethings now and still his fans. Crazy how his music has transcended generations.

I believe The Eminem Show came out around 2002. I know it was the first CD I bought growing up. Sing for the Moment was my favorite song on the track list. This was also Em's first "political" album. That's what gets me about people complaining about Em getting political on revival. They've obviously never heard Square Dance or White America. Or hell, Mosh off of Encore. This will always be my favorite Eminem album.

For those who doesn’t know. The line, "You're full of s--t too, Guerra, that was a fist that hit you" is a reference to a fight Eminem had with John Guerra, who he saw kissing his wife outside a Detroit area bar in June of 2000. Police said Guerra claim Eminem hit him with a gun, and Guerra received a settlement of $100,000.

Em’s best tracks during those first 4 albums were always on beats he produced himself I feel. He always captures a energy within the beat that you can’t avoid.
@mindyphillips2605 жыл бұрын
Dre produced his beats. Even he says it. Em produced less than half his own music and most of that is from 2003 on. SSLP, MMLP, and Encore he produced 2 each and the Eminem Show he produced 4. Em is still just as good as he was. People just don't connect with the complexity of his bars now because every line means 2-3 different things
@ForgedDr3ams5 жыл бұрын
Mindy Phillips read my comment correctly. I know Dre produced 80% of the music. That’s not what I said. Go look at the production credits for Eminem as the producer not mixer and you’ll see exactly which songs I’m talking about.

There is No Doubt Eminem will go down in history, and this song is a Good example of why, I mean who else has taken a classic rock hook (Aeromith - Sing for the moment) for this example, and put their own lyrics within and then to be able to portray their message as well as he was able to? The only other person to even attempt to tgat I can think of is Kid Rock - All summer long (Lynyrd Skinnard -Sweet home Alabama ) but that came out in 2007, so Eminem was the 1st to ever do it...
