Nate said in a livestream that he wrote most of Hate myself while he was checked into an in patient therapy facility right after he wrapped up his Perception tour when he had hit rock bottom. He also wrote part of Nate in there. One of the activities they did while he was checked in was to write down what they'd tell their younger selves if they were given the opportunity. Fun facts that I felt made both songs even more powerful.

Have you heard from a lot of people saying how much NF has changed their lives. He changed mind or he was a catalyst for me. I've been bedridden for fifteen years now. Health reasons but now mental health issues are reading me apart. I've been listening well really feeding my soul with his music. I've been keeping all this to myself. Last night I was able to tell my husband part of it. I've been having hallucinations, not often trust me one is enough, but I was finally able to tell him some of the stuff my mind is doing to me. Unfortunately to get help you have to go to a therapist, I can't, my medical condition is such I can't make an appointment and promise to be there. Sometimes, most times, I can't focus because pain is so intense, can't lift my head off the pillow without projectile vomiting. Not a good look. I need help but I don't know how to get it.

I always say that I miss being a kid. That was truly the last time I can remember being 100% happy. My anxiety started when I was 12. Misdiagnosed with ADD. 21 when I was finally diagnosed. 10 years later and I still battle with anxiety and depression. NF is very relatable to me. His music is so powerful. In the song hate myself he says “I don’t want to die, I just want to feel relief”. That’s EXACTLY how many people feel.

I have faith that Nate will always stay real but the pressure certain people put on you when your that successful can be hard to digest sometimes when all you want is to do what you love and remain true to yourself. I guess I'm more worried about the kind of people that can be discouraging and deceitful in this situation. All in all I pray for Nate's well being and strength to persevere through all of the distractions and distractors. I have faith in Nate and in God just not in those surrounding him right now. We have lost way too many beautiful, brilliant people to the allure and false promises of fame. I totally agree with you, I just pray for his spirit to endure these new levels of pressure and success gracefully because I've seen alot of giants fall and all I can say now is Rest In Peace to them all. Getting lost in this world is easy finding true peace can be difficult for anyone down here but God is good. I just pray for this man, I don't doubt him at all. He has encouraged me a great deal and I look up to him. God bless.

@@kellyliebbe8674 Amen to that. NF actually got me into rap. I listened to mostly rock, metal and classical music and then I heard NF. I never liked pop music and alot of the rap I heard was all about bling bling, money, degrading woman, glorifying violence, arrogance and selfish desires. When I heard NF I changed my mind and now I'm more open to this genre. There are some talented rappers that have something to say that has depth you just have to find them.

Hate Myselfs beginning is the music behind one of Snow Patrols songs but I haven't heard it in years and for a while I was even confused on which song from.the search used the sample. You do not know what your channel means to someone who is depressed and struggling but can come.here and be lifted up by your positive attitude and perspective. For those that want to judge me inability to find the right words to.explain NF using the sample and not remembering the song please just count your blessings that you can. Every MRI I have shows a further loss of brain mass due to lupus attacking my brain and central nervous system. That's not how lupus typically works, it's usually more like Toni Braxton's, Selena Gomez's and/ or Nick Cannons. Music is the one thing dementia cannot take from you. Anyway, please don't judge bc I can remember lyrics or know who a song is by but I cannot always connect the dots. KZbin has become my social world with my favorite reactors. I love this channel. There's such a welcoming and family feel. Someone will probably say something like I am brown nosing or kissing ass like the last time I posted and that's ok. Just know I don't argue with strangers on the internet and I can't afford to let someone else being negative have space in my head or heart. I love this channel. hey i'm loving the NF album and your reaction was spot on for both tracks, I think NF is phenomenal at relaying his feelings. I felt the I hate myself track speaks volumes to many people and some who won't admit it...people have a void in their lives. I'm a Christian and I truly believe Jesus fills the void...which is easier said than done, but its a process...first accepting him, then laying down our baggage or burdens, and then giving him the steering wheel and trusting him through good and bad times. I know NF is a Christian too and is taking his fans on the journey with him...he's highly relatable because hes open about his pain and feeling the emptiness that the world will never satisfy. The increase in mental illness over the last 15 years is crazy, and yes, social media has a lot to answer for in the quick fix validation for likes on photos and the ability to bully another person 24/7. Growing up is harder the days for sure (i grew up in the days of the first computers and dial telephones), you cant avoid the negative as easily the days, and the constant barrage that some people get accumulates in their sense of self and even after the external abuse stops, the internal abuse takes over so it never ends. I only hope NF finds a way to adapt and deal with the voices in his head. We've lost to many great artists in the last few years to suicide, i really don't want him to be one of them.

So, while statistically the situation looks like it’s getting worse, in reality we are in a better spot as we know what mental illness is, the dangers and symptoms, and some potential treatments

It’s weird whenever I see someone going through something I wanna help them but I can’t open up about my problems or issues with other people I just feel what’s the point nobody really wants to know nobody that I know in my life even checks to see how I’m doing or if I’m okay or what’s been eating at myself sense I was a kid. It just gets worse as I get older I pick apart my life and dwell on the bad stuff going on. I say to myself I’m getting better but I don’t know if I am. I thought the reason why I have trouble sleeping is I’m just a night person but I realized I just over think and over analyze stuff at night maybe that’s why I have trouble sleeping.
