Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for these videos. It's so refreshing to have tutorials that don't make me want to fall asleep. Your videos have really helped me improve my level of play. When you talked about giving up some portion of the court and not being able to cover one area helped me mentally. Helped me mentally become less frustrated when playing.

As a beach coach, I love your videos, a lot of stuff I know from playing, but not a lot of stuff I say in words. You guys do a good job of communicating what you actually do, and that is honestly the hard part, since beach isn't nearly as fleshed out as the indoor game. Great video!

Hey guys! I had a couple questions for you wasn't sure the best place to ask so here I am! 1. what are the rules for going after a dig that goes onto the opponents' side of the net and do you have to hit it back outside/inside the antennae? 2. What's the rule on doubling a roll shot? If you dive and it hits your hand then face is that legal? Since it's considered one attempt? I've seen it called both ways. Thanks in advance! Keep posting the amazing videos!!

As an older beach volleyball player, this info is GOOD! No wasted movement and hopefully no spread eagles if you can fake them out to hitting right at you. I’ve played juke D my whole career in the ‘90’s with the big court, and as an older player, the small court is a god send...unless your playing against a huge ass blocker haha. Keep it up bros!

Great video! Knowing this stuff makes even watching beach volleyball more fun as it becomes more like a game of poker. If you sometimes bet high when you have nothing, your opponents might also call you when betting high with aces. It's the same with sometimes blocking angle so that the 3 will work.

Being 6'9" I've became a decent blocker but the blocking video that goes with this one made it even better. Everyone here just tells you okay block this but not how. I really need to work on my server receive and your 3 steps helped tremendously. I know it may be hard to read people but can you say something about that if you haven't already. I struggle in that department and if I do get it, I respond too late. Thank you again

Hey thank you very much for doing this video, I am fairly new to volleyball and I trust my speed to get me to the ball but the ball is really fast so I don't quite make it or if I do make it to the ball 90% of the time I end up eating sand. I have a small tournament 2 weeks from now so I will practice the picker blinder!
@CarlosEstrada-sg2ys4 жыл бұрын
@@themckibbinbrothers Hey guys, I gotta thank you. I was able to use the picker blinder a couple of times although I still don't master it. For a couple of points I was able to trick the hitter into putting the ball right into my arms. Feels good to not have to run every play. As for the tournament, didn't do well as winning goes but had a lot of fun. It was actually my first and I loved it.
@AP-lu8lw6 жыл бұрын
The shirts are brilliant! Defense question - does when you make a move (or IF you make a move) differ if the set is in the middle? I find myself always getting caught because I start second guessing on where they might go + it's hard to set up in a place where I can see the hitter well to the inside of the block because it's a tiny sliver of court and now 3/4 of the court is open....

3rd time I've watched this cause it's awesome to work on for one of your "3 things to practice". Quick question, and maybe you could make a short vid on this: When you are defending, and trying to make your "read", where are your eyes looking/focused on? Hitters hand, arm, upper torso, the ball, hot chick walking by... etc? I feel like I need about 1/4th of a second quicker read to dig a lot more balls.

Loool I would have purchased merch just to support you guys, but i legit want that beard tank. That's fantastic. As to the video, that was well structured and for me at least, really informative. The part where you said giving certain areas of the court up as basically "perfect balls," ... Well do you feel that it's worth it to not try because being able to get to the other spots counter acts/ cancels out those missed points?
@Mirrorflip6 жыл бұрын
MCK Volleyball oh alright. That makes more sense. More of a "don't beat yourself up cause it's perfect," type of thing?
@samlynch63486 жыл бұрын
I have a question about defense if you’re not playing a more traditional blocker up front defender in the back. I play at a lower level and the setting and hitting usually aren’t as consistent so consistent blocking plays are kinda rare. Most defensive plays usually result in both of us standing almost side by side and trying to dig whatever comes over. Should my partner and I still try to setup with a “blocker”/defender even if player at the net might have to pull most of the time? I know that when I’m hitting I definitely “feel” the presence of someone at the net and have to mentally adjust even if they don’t actually block. I feel like blocker/defender is more efficient but I struggle to get in a consistent rhythm with it.
@manonguyen90166 жыл бұрын
putting emphasis on the "batter's box" is very important, i always feel like i'm making better contact when I'm a tad more patient in the batter's box, so no matter where the set is, you have a higher hitting percentage....

Ciao fratello barbuto, I have one question. But let me start with some context. Looks like line or angle defense are more the "basic" ones, where you just go for commitment and discipline. But I believe one thing you didn't mention is that they also imply that the defender has to be already IN HIS/HER DESIGNATED SPOT when the attacker hits the ball. That means you take away the strong cross or line hit, but you have to be mentally ready to sprint and get that high-line or cut shot. Now, the question is: when you go for fakes and you show something or you hide... the defender would never be able to be in the designated spot when the attacker hits the ball. Is this what we're supposed to do? Should we be ok with taking the risk of still be running when we decide to cheat/read on defense? Does this even make sense?

I love your vids, must say! Love the way you are living! But something bugs me in this video. The attacker who thinks the angle is wide open confuses me a bit, especially when you say the 2 call sets up the 3. Isn't it the other way around? That when you have faked your angle blocking enough times (the 3 call) the attacker thinks you will do the same one more time, only this time you actually stay (the 2 call)? Consequently the attacker has no options but to become food for Madisons block or to shot the ball over.
