I am so, so glad to see people here love Duster! I thought he was great. He tries his hardest and he's super useful in combat; especially early on, he was my MVP with his thief tools, and I can't count the number of times he saved me from back attacks. But also he's just a really stubborn, determined fellow who wants to do the right thing. He doesn't let a handicap stop him from kicking enemies into oblivion. He won't let his really mean dad keep him down (I was SO mad at Wess for most of the game). He makes good friends in the DCMC. And he takes care of his friends in the party. I really like him. Even if he has bad breath.

Glad to see some Duster love here because he is one of if not my favorite Characters in the series. He is constantly attacked both Physically and Emotionally with his dad calling him a moron and he had to leave the DCMC to help Lucas and Kumatora. Despite this, he keeps fighting and helps the team. He has a leg handicap but he doesn't let it get in the way. If anything, he uses it to his advantage by (In my Opinion) kicking with that leg sense he can't anything there so he can kick as hard as he was and can't feel any repercussion. He is a really useful Party Member and Him along with Jeff prove that you don't need PSI to be really useful. His thief tools were always helpful to me as I could use them to with Kumatora's Psi Abilities to Lower bosses stats and give them status effects like crying and sleeping. He also has really good friends because in Chapter 4 by hearing the Possibility of Duster still being alive made him go look for him and Kumatora pretended to be a waitress at Club Titiboo for 3 years to see if that was really him. He was also great friends with the DCMC and going with Lucas and Kumatora wasn't easily because the band let him in with open arms that thought of him as great friend first and great band member second. They even played a goodbye song (Bon Voyage, Amigo) and they were very happy to meet up with him Again at New Pork City. His father even quits calling him a moron when right before they meet the real Porky. Even before then his father shows that he cares for him in the time when Duster isn't around. And let's remember that Before Duster Joined Lucas he did tell were he hid the egg of light and Lucas and Kumatora could have just left him right there but they take him with them. They even help him regain his memories and Lucas (And Kumatora If you have her by this time) Save him again at Saturn Valley. He is also a good friend to Lucas, Kumatora and Boney as he helps Lucas despite not even knowing him in Chapter 4 and 5, helps locate the needle in the volcano and also helps find Boney in New Pork City sewers. Duster may be a thief but he is a thief of Justice and is always helping putting his friends first. He doesn't let his advantage or any verbal abuse get in the way as he keeps fighting for the people he cares about and those are his friends. He really cares about Lucas, Kumatora, Boney and the DCMC and will fight to the end with them.

Wess probably was trying to push him to greatness using negativity. Duster was never a moron. He was always trying his best and succeeding at being the best. He knew better than his dad, but out of love let him continue saying the same hurtful things, because that's what bein friends is about. Love and hope.

I'll be honest, I didn't expect to like Duster. Before I played, I read about the other party members, and I thought he seemed boring and bland. I knew I'd like Lucas, being the main tragic hero with the arc and whatnot. I knew I'd like Kumatora, that's pretty much given. And Boney, he's a dog who can (sort of) talk, what's not to like? But Duster, no, I didn't see much potential with him. And then I played the game. Duster is now one of my favorite characters. And his song is awesome :)

This song gives me so many feelings. I can feel Duster's own sorrow toward his own adversity, but I can also hear his determination to help his friends. He is easily my favorite character in Mother 3 (Other than Flint) because he IS relatable, like Fawful theLEGO said. Maybe it is because I am a young man facing my own adversities fighting for my own goal in life.... But he is the coolest Mother character along with Ness in my opinion. This is not hate towards Lucas or Claus in anyway, nor is it to any of the other Mother characters. Honestly the Mother series came to me late in my life, but I would put it tied with Legend of Zelda for my favorite Nintendo series. Easily. No contest. A Link to the Past is a game I hold near and dear due to memories and gameplay, but Earthbound and Mother 3 quickly gained an equal heading as soon as I experienced them. That's right. Not played, but experienced them. I will forever love Shigesato Itoi for the imagination he used to create this wonderful world we all love.

This music is my favorite theme in Mother 3. This perfectly represents what Duster is feeling and how he thinks about everything that's happening. He is probably the most developed and fleshed-out character in the Mother series in my opinion. He tries to ignore his father, Wess, and only aims to do what is right.

I felt sorry for Duster when he had to leave the DCMC band. Duster was one of those people with bad teeth and dirty clothes. People rejected him for that. But he found a group of wonderful people who didn't care about what he looked like. These people were probably the first to consider him as a best friend. It's too bad he had to leave them. Poor guy. Even though he's just a fake character, you still just gotta love the guy.
