To my none morning people: have you learned how to overcome the 'morning fog' and get into a routine? Let me know your tips! I have set alarms in the past to get up early and it worked for about a week or so, but I still found my productive side would not kick in until later in the morning. So after awhile it seemed useless anyway (accepting for the priceless quiet mornings alone) (:

🖐 I feel you ! Not a morning person ! But my husband is like 5-5:30 early .We have a morning coffee together routine for all of our married life of almost 40 years . What I do , he makes coffee, I stumble out of bed no getting dressed, to the bathroom and mist my hair and run a comb through the front , because no one needs to see me looking like Albert Einstein 😫 I get my coffee by the light of the stove hood , No bright lights ! We sit across from each other and quietly sip our coffee , he is usually on his phone since he knows I’m not fit to talk too for the first half hour , or until my coffee is half empty or so 🤣 I love sitting and I call it getting grounded . Just watching the sun come up letting my thoughts drift all over the place . We usually have about an hour of slowly waking up . By 6-6:30 I’m ready to get dressed and combed and started with the day . Of course there were different seasons , new babies school schedules etc . But still that was an still is our routine .

oh my kindred spirit 😴🥱 Ive never set an alarm, and tried getting up with hubs but it never lasts. I basically have just decided Im not going to care until after the last baby is 5 🤪🤣 Before 7am and Im a grump, and sadly Ive always had early risers. My 4 yr old is the current one and the breakfast choices he makes are interesting! perk of homeschooling is we dont have to be anywhere early! Im not a hotcoffee drinker though, my choice of caffeine is sweet tea or Dr Pepper 🥤 but I do enjoy making decaf iced coffees in the warm months 🤷🏼♀️ Im embracing my tendencies (second wind at 8pm after kids are in bed, needing breaks between tasks, love of cooking, etc) and figuring out how to work them to my families advantage is the journey Im on now....aka discipline to actually clean something at my peak times 😒

Hey lady I totally loved this video!! Don't worry about the icecream breakfast, when my children were 4 year old and 9 month old I wasn't feeling well so I slept in. When I did wake up my son had helped his baby sister by putting her in the high chair and pouring her cereal and using kool aid instead of milk, he thought she'd like that better.

I will try to tell you how I get myself out of bed in the morning. I am waking up but would like to stay just a bit longer in my bed. Then I start thinking about all people around the world who really want to get out of bed, but they can not. Perhaps have they been staying in bed for years. Then I think for young or old, every new day is a gift, and we should take this gift and use it the best way we can. I am really grateful that It is possible for me to get up in the morning and that I am able to do everything by myself. These thoughts get me very fast out of bed, and to start my new day. 👍👵💖👍🥰

I'm not naturally very organized and also don't love mornings. I feel like God created us all unique and tend to easily feel like the organized folks are superior to us. I have many very organized and big planner people around me and can get to feeling like such a failure around them but I have to remind myself that God created me unique as well. My husband has to travel for work and we go along as a family and that involves being very flexible sometimes. Most of my friends would have great anxiety having to adjust their perfectly created lists and planners that make life so much "easier". I know there's extremes on both side so I'm just here saying I've found blessings in letting go of the idea of being the person that has these lists and meal plans and instead focus on doing the best I can without comparing myself to all the things that look so glamorous but leave feeling empty in the end anyway. Blessings to you as you serve your family!

You have made me feel so much better. I left the Amish in 2008 and am currently 32 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child and I keep battling those inner voices of Amish perfect house that I must attain. I am not a morning person either. Also this pregnancy has been very tough after finding out that I have an aortic aneurysm we believe is congenital. That said, I have zero energy on top of anemia. I feel defeated everyday. This vlog really encouraged me. To tell myself that it's ok not to have it together. I also hate schedules.

I am a morning person, I love mornings and the quiet stillness of them. I can get up and be ready for the day. I think the only tip I can give, is I clean up my home in the evening before I go to bed, I make my children help so that way my house is tidy when I get up and i'm not seeing a mess. I am 18 weeks pregnant and the first trimester was horrible for me, so I did sleep and was so not a morning person, but the last few weeks I've gotten up early, did my devotions and got ready before my boys and I've felt so much more put together. But I also know we are each different, my hubby is so not a morning person. You just do what works for you!

Hello! I want to say I Love You, but I don’t really know you. BTW, this is not Rick, but his wife, Joy. I am a 69 yr. old grandma of 5 kiddos, 3 boys and 2 girls ages ranging from 5 yrs. to 20 yrs. Married almost 50 yrs. ( on next May 2022). I mention all of that so I don’t freak you out by saying I Love You. I guess I should say I love your attitude and openness about your short comings. I also loved the way you did your “commercial”. Pretty funny but you got your point across well. I too am not a morning person and I no longer have a little alarm clock ⏰ around like you do. Your morning looked a lot like mine about 40 yrs. ago. And since I am now retired my mornings are embarrassingly later than ever! Anyway no advise for you here on that subject, just a great appreciation for all you do on your channel and letting us come along on your walk through life. Joy S. from Northern Indiana

I really enjoyed this video! I'm not a schedule person. And I learned to embrace that. (If you don't make a schedule, then you are not actually ever behind!) But just this year I developed a "Sunday morning routine" (my church meets on Sunday evening) that has made a big difference. It is actually a to do list, the same every week. It's helped me to actually clean the bathroom every week, update my phone, meal plan (just a few of the 12 things). It's also when I watch my favorite weekly KZbinrs!!!

Hi Jeannine I struggle with mornings too. I have found this helpful. *Before going to bed, write up a list of jobs for the next day. I use those fun pens that write on mirrors. You are much more likely to do errands if you write a list the night before. *When you first open your eyes in the morning, pull the covers right back completely off the before going to the bathroom. You are less inclined to get back into bed if the sheets are cold. *Stay on your feet. I feel dreadful for a full ten mins, but if you stay on your feet, potter about throw open the windows, put the coffee on, brush your teeth, you won't get back into bed. *Never use the snooze button. *Put your alarm clock on the other side of the room, so you have to get up. *Think about purchasing a daylight alarm clock. A simulated sunrise clock you can preset. Wake to light or sounds, or both.
@theMennoniteMom3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that! Great tips! I did try the alarm on the other side of the room and that probably worked best for me (for awhile). I need to do it again!
@TheRawfoodgardener3 жыл бұрын
@@theMennoniteMom the daylight alarm worked me for a while then I slept through it even at 20 lumens directly facing me lol. Unfortunately even the birdsong woke everyone else and I slept through that lol. Now, I unsecured one end of the curtain and pull one curtain side half open from the end, that gives enough indirect daylight in the morning to wake me at 8ish. I also leave my mobile in the kitchen and turn off the WiFi. As I'm always keen to check messages, that always gets me up!

I had trouble for years with dry scalp especially in winter so use a vinegar and water rinse after shampooing and switch shampoos. Skin...use vaseline and a silk pillow so cotton is abrasive to skin. Minimize showers to jumping in, rinsing off, turn water off your skin, lather, then rinse. Standing in water strips natural oils and sets up acne. Doctors recommend no more than 3 minutes in shower. Omit the hot water, go tepid. No more hot steamy room as its hard o skin in winter dry months.

I so love you and Zander together! Realistically, don’t be too hard on yourself nobody can be 100% perfect most of us are 50% perfect, so that’s a lot of latitude. It’s so hard to stay on everything all the time. You’re a human after all! Good video about the realities of life. You’re right thinking about all your inadequacies all the time ... not so good! I think you also set a lot to do in one day and then when you don’t achieve it you beat yourself up. I do that a lot. At almost 75 years old I have had to slow down quite a bit and I get really upset with myself sometime when I don’t feel like doing things. And with your health, it really is kind of demoralizing. But I think God for what I can do each day. When I don’t get everything done that I wanted to get done( which is often) I thank God for Grace! After all it’s not how much we get done in a day but what our attitude is if we are joyful and are doing we are measuring up! I wish you joy and blessings every day!

So I really needed your video today as it brought much joy in my heart. I am very much like you. I’m not a morning person either but I do feel if the kitchen is clean everything else doesn’t look so bad. I’m not a person who likes scheduling my life. I take each day God gives n do what my heart feels to do. I’ve got very dry skin too n if I did like you said n more lotion through out the day it might help but who’s got time for that when there’s more important things to do. I have to say those meals you made did look really good. I just might have to check into it. I’m sure they make them for a one person or two. I can alway eat it again hahaha. I think you look beautiful n skin is not yellow on the camera. I sure hope all is going well with your pregnancy. Oh, you always look bigger with your second child at least I did. I was 4months n everyone thought I was 7 mo. I looked that big. Probably to he was 8lbs. n 10 oz. It doesn’t matter one way or another as long as your healthy n baby too. That Xander, what a stinker eating ice cream for breakfast. I got a good chuckle. Hey, some people eat cold pizza for breakfast, not me. Take care of yourself n definitely be good to yourself. Wishing you, Nolan n Xander a beautiful n memorable Christmas with all of Gods blessings. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🎄

Hey just want to say I enjoy your videos and thanks for being and Honest You tuber! It feels so much better watching someone when you can relate to them on how your life isn’t perfect either then to see someone vlogging a “perfect life”. Keep it up and May God Bless you for it. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year with your new addition on the way.

As a non-morning person myself I can relate. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. You and Zander are adorable.

Also not a morning person, trained both my kiddos to make their own breakfast then wake me up...left the cereal on the table and a cup of premeasured milk in the fridge. It's okay to not be a 6am wake upper. My kids are older now, they are highly responsible, pretty sure handing them their mornings has contributed to this 😊 Mama needs her sleep!

My thing for the morning is, if I know I'm waking up to a mess its hard to get up. Waking up to a tidy kitchen, before the kids are up gives me enough to get up, make a coffee, sit on my recliner with my Bible. Love it. At least an hour before 4 kids are up. But enjoy the time you can sleep in.🥰. Homeschool mom here

I’ve never been a morning person but managed to raise 4 kids. I have to use alarm radio to get up before 8. Now that I’m retired from working out of the home, I still struggle with getting much done before noon. I do my best work in the home after the meals are done. Being retired is great but I criticize myself for not getting enough done also. Rest while you can because the house work will wait (unfortunately). Even if it’s just a 20 minute time with your feet up, especially while you’re pregnant. Blessings to you & your family🤗❤️🇨🇦 Great vlog💫

Thank you! I can so relate to the not getting going to late in the day! I think we have an internal clock that refuses to reset!

Always love a new video from you! To me, a DITL means just that .... following you doing whatever you are doing THAT day! If you were highly scheduled, it would be boring!! That Zander, what a cutie!

I am not a morning person either and I pretended to be, for my entire work life. I understand your struggles well and your struggles resonate. Lately, I have been trying to talk to myself in the same way I would talk to a dear friend. It helps. The Green Chef spot was very entertaining and well done. Awesome! I would love to be a friend in real life!
