According to the Japanese continuity game material, Sonic is actually from Christmas Island. However, Sonic left since he yearned for adventure. Not much beyond that; we don't even know how Sonic and Eggman came across each other before the events that occurred on South Island. Which honestly works fine; we don't have to know all the details of what occurred before the first game.

The implication, as least when I played Sonic Adventure, was that Ivo Robotnik was his real name, and Eggman was a nickname/insult Sonic and pals gave him. I don't remember if you mentioned that in the video, but it's also worth remembering that Gerald couldn't create Shadow on his own, because he needed the blood of Black Doom, so if Sonic was his creation, obviously he would need the blood of another being to create it, but your theory is good, who knows in the future it might have some influence?

While it never got anywhere as a concept, it was the closest to an origin SoJ made. Sonic having so many origin stories is bizarre, and yet pretty cool. The Blue Blur having a multiverse makes the most sense, especially since the Archie cast had crossovers with Sonic Underground, Sonic X and Sonic Boom. Anyway, final three points: 1. The Sat Am/Archie origin story is definitely one of my favorites. Mobius being a future Earth, Chuck being the one who actually built the roboticizer with Robotnik stealing the blueprints to make his own. I may not like everything Archie did, but it was still epic. 2. Oddly enough, this isn't the first time I heard the "Sonic and Shadow are brothers" theory. TV Tropes had it on their Sonic Adventure 2 page, under What could have been or trivia if I remember right. 3. Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking there's a chance the films will adapt Sonic Adventure. Seeing Super Sonic vs Perfect Chaos on screen would be insane.

It’s so interesting how the same character can have so many different backstories, or stories attributed to them in the first place. While pregnant, Sonic mother must have come in contact with a chaos emerald explaining why he was so good at controlling the chaos emerald's first try. Sonic's dad was a pilot and inspired Sonic to do the right thing and after seeing a younger child being bullied, Sonic promised to help anyone in need. Following his parents sudden death, Sonic became depressed and mute, but still wanted to help other's, he inherited his father's shoes, never taking them off again, and his father's plane, where he uses it to travel around the world. He eventually made his way to South Island, where he decided to stay. Once Eggman soon came to the island, this starts Sonic's epic journey, where with the help of his friends, deciding to talk once again, but still struggles with getting close to anyone, this explains why he ignores Amy's love for him.

If you ask me, I have an idea of my own. See, Sonic in the official games takes a lot of inspiration from the titular Dragon Ball Z character, Son Goku, both being thrill seekers with disregard for the ideals of heroism and morality, willing to do as they please with no end goal except for the one right in front of them. Son Goku, however, takes a lot of inspiration from the titular Journey to the West character, Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, who’s name in Japanese happens to also be Son Goku… Now, as for Sun Wukong, his origins lie in a stone egg. This egg was magically fertilised as the elemental forces of Heaven and Earth and Sun and Moon came together. The egg hatched and out popped a magical stone monkey with beaming eyes and a natural respect to the four cardinal directions. He would later become royalty through a daring act and later, gain his immortality and his extensive list of abilities through Taoist training. For Sonic, I’d like to do something similar… One night, on Christmas Island, intersecting gale-force winds formed a single super hurricane. The hurricane roared alive with chaotic power and speed as the elements of wind, rain, earth, and the powers of chaos itself charged the storm. The hurricane spun and spun and spun until, finally, one blue blur shot out from the storm. It rolled swiftly, but carefully, as it gradually lost momentum until it slowly came to a stop, dropping face down into a shallow pool. Startled, the little blue pincushion thrashed alive, staggering and coughing his way out of the water before he rose and shook the water from his quills. Opening his emerald eyes, the first thing he sees, and the third thing he feels after the rush of movement and the cold of water, is the sunrise and the warmth of sunlight on a cool morning. With no knowledge, nor regard for his origin, the quickly dissolving storm behind him, or his future, whether royalty or renegade, the young force of nature, Sonic the Hedgehog, smiles at a new day.

I continue to be a loyal fan to Sonic the Hedgehog, but what I realised that he has no known backstory, so I made one. This is my personalised fictional backstory for our beloved Blue Blur. Born on Christmas Island, Sonic is the last descendant of the legendary Hedgehog Warriors after Doctor Robotnik invaded his home island and took Sonic as a baby in hopes of raising him to be his right-hand commander for his Empire. Sonic spent his childhood in isolation, with Robotnik studying his powers and helping him master it, they remained good friends until Sonic was kidnapped by a rebellion fighting against Robotnik’s Forces. Sonic learns from the Rebellion about Robotnik’s intentions to destroy natural habitats, historical landmarks and traditional cultures to build more fortresses and factories, creating Badniks for his army using animals as batteries. Sonic also learns of his heritage and how Doctor Robotnik invaded his home Island and leaving it in ruins, the rebels rescued Sonic hoping to get the upper-hand to defend their land from Robotnik. Sonic gladly took the mantle of his ancestry, fighting Robotnik and any dangerous threat he comes across, his newfound freedom running across landscapes quickly developed his love for adventure.

I believe the original idea was for every island to have their own set of emeralds. It's likely the emeralds in Sonic 1 are not the same as the ones in Sonic 2 and beyond. The emeralds in Sonic 1 were designed to prevent South Island from sinking.

Sonic runs at the speed of light and turns blue with some light. So his powers are basically him harnessing Cherenkov radiation and going even faster. But that doesn't explain how he can run at the speed of light before that or has he always been using Cherenkov radiation and just ended up using too much and stained his quills and fur blue? Proceeding to empower him even more and then using these chaos crystals to refine his power even more to become even stronger.

The sonic x one is probably false, it has a lot of major problems, 1. In x sonic isn't from earth, and appears to have never been there before, 2 shadow himself was created based on the mural in hpz in sonic 3, which depicts super sonic (the ultimate lifeform) fighting Eggman in doomsday zone, meaning Gerald robotnik created shadow based on super sonic

What? How would that make sense if Gerald was dead before the events of Sonic 3? Remember, Maria was close in age to Eggman, as they're cousins. I'm not really following what you mean here. How would that mural have been the thing that inspired Gerald to create Shadow when he was already dead?

@@feshpince7181 the mural in sonic 3 existed before the events of sonic 3, its been stated that Gerald has studied echidna artifacts, the core of the ark is one example, the thing I'm trying to say here is the event depicted in the mural hadn't happened yet when Gerald was studying the mural, and he based shadow off of the being depicted in it

Yo if u think about it the whole thing of Sonic having 5 sisters could legit be a thing cause in my Sonic universe I made it a thing cause in nearly all Sonic media he has a sibling. Tho Sonic still has his brother Manic, I headcanon that Sonia from Underground, Anita and Tania (I made them twins in my universe cause the manga kept changing her name) and Nicky (I know he’s a boy but since Nicky/Nikki is a gender neutral name I headcanon that Nikki was a girl but changed as she got older) from the manga and Mail (the supposed name of Sister Sonic which was a cancelled game) are all Sonic’s sisters. Basically after Queen Aleena had all the kids, their real dad still died in that accident, and as things got bad, the queen separated all her kids to protect them hence them growing up in different places but eventually they all reunite with their real mom and they all form one big family with their adopted family too Plus since it occurred to me that there were 7 kids, I added that the prophecy stated 7 brave heroes would be the 7 holders of the chaos emeralds Sonic- blue Sonia- purple Manic- green Mail- Silver Nikki/Nicky- Red Tania-Cyan Anita-yellow

Having seen this one twice, I do love adaptational origin stories. And, fun fact, Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric was going to depict Sonic’s backstory, but once the Sonic Boom brand project was greenlit, SEGA of Japan, asserting creative control over Big Red Button, forbade the devs from covering Sonic’s origins. With the movies, by allowing Paramount to cover Sonic’s youth, they redeemed themselves for their restrictive actions. Wild, right?

I think the idea of the tribe of Echidna’s was inspired by the Archcie comics. Ken Penders made a whole lot of Echidnas and made a sort of clan out of them. Now he’s doing his own comic about them I guess. The less we talk about Ken the better tbh.
